Does no one play Random Draft? I've been searching for 14 minutes but have yet to find a match.....

I've tried 2 times, gave up on the first time when it went past 8 mins or so, second time it took around 7 mins and finally got one. Sucks nobody plays it, fun mode.

edit: for all of you with iPads, the new Twitch.tv app is fucking win. Great UI and crisp HD video. With none of the stuttering that comes with flash by nature.

Is it a universal app now? I was using the iPhone app before, the videos were good quality but the interface was all stretched out and ugly.

You might actually be more survivable going with the flat HP from the vanguard over the hood when it comes to magic resistance. Depending on your level, the flat HP is going to mean more EHP against nukes than simply stacking percentages.

viper at level 16 has 1043 HP, a vit booster gives 250 hp, that's an additional 25% hp
with a hood you get 16.25% more HP against nukes over just having Corrosive Skin maxed.

True enough, if you are going just off EHP. Vipers EHP never seems to be a huge issue early game with the amount of range you have and your slows, mainly what I need either vanguard or hood for is for regen so I can stay in lane and not be harassed constantly. Also need to consider that at the time you are going to be finishing hood, you probably don't have any levels of corrosive skin, or 1 max if your farm is slower, so your numbers will be a bit different.

Plus the great thing about hood is that it stays useful all the way to late game. Vanguard diminishes a little in value late game.

If you play viper solo mid, you are almost always up against nuke heavy heroes who can't do much to you aside from tossing out some spell damage here and there, so hood can be really effective early.

It is certainly situational, and hood is not mathematically the best item at that point of game, but I feel it provides enough utility over the course of the game while being good enough early game to where you can still lane effectively and get the rest of your farm up.

The only issue with the Twitch.tv app is that you can't change the quality at all (set to auto quality).

Also interesting choice of stream.

True. Fortunately, it's pretty much all HD at this point (on the iPad, at least). Or, it's always HD for me. I haven't seen the quality drop since the update. Maybe the occasional 2 or 3 second drop to SD every 30 minutes or something, but really...it's been as much as I could ask for. If a broadcast is available in HD, it defaults right to that. YMMV on video quality issues, as I'm sure it's internet speed dependent.

Still, much better than their old app in every way.

I didn't know this about brew master but two of the pandas he splits into have skills, it isn't listed on play dota but here it is;

http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Brewmaster

Gonna have to use control groups for this guy, I believe they stick even when the unit is dead/gone.

Does each panda share your health when they split or are they full health? Wondering when the best time to use the ult is.

pandas have their own individual health pools and spawn at 100%. Best used when panda starts getting focused on, or after your blink->tclap

3 have their own independent health bars.

Clap --> Haze (if available) --> Ult.

adendum: ult before a stun can get to you. your ult can be stopped by a well-timed stun.

Pretty sure it used to be common for junglers to kill themselves to get a free port back to base and regen and get full hp/mana. You obviously spend all your gold before doing it.

Not really kidding? I mean, jungle until you've got the gold for Ring of Regen, Quelling Blade and the Vladmir's recipe (850g or 900g I think). At that point you've got negligible mana left and you've taken a good beating, so might as well suicide on neutrals for a free TP + full regen. Unless you're really close to the base you're saving time.

e: I'm talking about Lycan for this. Pretty sure Furion can also do it since teleport cooldown is pretty long initially.

I like this troll because it has multiple layers. Of all the junglers who might die to neutrals, those are the last. Enigma, too, I guess.

I enjoying fucking junglers with Zeus who like to play it close to the edge of death when jungling. Don't think Zeus is watching? Zeus is always watching...

Zzzzap! "Hi there."

I can cut about 20-30 seconds doing this on Lycan.

With pull and the right camps, you shouldn't be low on hp/mana.

Good to know.

He looks fun to play and I'm glad they're adding him sooner than later. Would be neat to see PL or Ogre Magi with brew tomorrow.

I actually like to do this as Ursa. Considering I start ursa with Ring of Basilus and Tango/Salve, Once I hit 600 gold I'm usually 100hp and sub50 mana due to Overpower stacking. This combined with his low run speed until you get boots. Saves you time.

Am I a noob for playing Ursa?

He's not a hard character and he's not an easy character.

He's a pub stomper though which irritates a lot of people, including myself, who feel that he sometimes cheapens games because most people end up feeding him. I enjoy playing him because who doesn't like killing someone in under 3 seconds? At the same time though I hate playing against him because it really puts your team to the test.

I usually approach Ursa with mostly jungle tactics. They say he's a carry but he feels much more of a ganker (if I have the terms all mixed up, then blah). I think he's really fun to play. Windrunner is usually my back up for play though. Riki I've been playing around with lately. His smoke seems too OP.

Played a lot of matches tonight, all with new characters.

Drow Ranger: Not fun to play at the beginning, but of course she gets much more interesting later in the game. Her silence has a good range and she can dish out damage really quickly. Honestly there are some other carries I like better than her though.

Sniper: SHRAPNEL. His assassinate move never gets old. Although slow and lacking in variety, it was a lot to fun to see a hero push, only to retreat in terror after I hit him with my ult.

Tinker: Another character I enjoyed playing, but I wasn't quite sure the best way to use the ult or the proper chain for his spells. I got some nice kills with his rockets.

Pudge: Ok, I know he can wreck, but this guy just isn't for me. I couldn't hook jack, and when I did, I really couldn't finish them off.

Witch Doctor: Didn't get to play him for so long because the other team ragequit after 15 minutes. But uh, his stun move is nice.

It's nice to try new heroes. Just when I think I found a handful of heroes I want to focus on, I find several more that are worth playing.

so i played lone druid for the first time. interesting hero from my pov he seems to be a hard carry type; however, i can also see him labelled as an initiator/ganker. i like to build defensive items on the bear that way i can simply go into ultimate form and destroy everything and no one can kill me.

also played dazzle and completely disagree with the common "pub" notion that he is a traditional support--his nuke/slow is extremely strong to the point i would consider him a ganker on par with lina. getting cs is pretty important as it allows my dazzle to snowball effectively.

*both games i had to carry this obese procarbine and astroboy

Advice from kneepat?

If I were you I'd take advice from everyone here, seeing as there are so few willing to give you advice anyway. Wasn't it only a few posts ago where the consensus for Vanguard on Tide, all of this brought up and suggested by you, was that it was a dumb item. You got the dumb item anyway and you went on to lose the game. What's worse is that you were telling other people here to do this, when it is so obvious an unnecessary item (although from the screen you posted there are way worse items on some of your teammates).

After trying it, yeah, I do believe that things like Vanguard or Hood are much better ideas instead of life steal on Viper, and that Life Steal was a silly idea. Not the worst, just not the most optimal.

Also, grabbing a full Pipe on Viper tends to work out well if you have other heavy damage dealers on the team. When the enemy team is Invoker/Shadow Shaman/Tide Hunter/Razor, the damage block helps a lot.

Does Viper's Passive damage steroid work with his Illusions?

No.

Try eul's on viper sometime, i highly recommend it, it allows for perfect positioning for your ultimate and more auto attacks. And more auto attacks on viper = more orb damage = free kills.

Vanguard on Tide works if you put one point in kraken shell only, it's health, health regen and block for a tank hero. It's also cheaper then all the other items suggested, pipe is also a great item but costs 2x more but in my game it was all right click Heros I was up against.
