indeed, they allowed you to romance Tali and Garrus in ME2 all because of the fan requests. Also, Chobot.... Artistic integrity? pfft

It's not black and white. Bioware certainly panders more to their fanbase than any company should, but the moment you establish their games as a 100% money-grab with no artistic vision whatsover then you shouldn't even bother talking about them, let alone play them.

is there a new humble bundle every two weeks or something? I feel like i hear about those and kickstarters more than anything lately.

yeah, I tune out whenever any podcast talks about em these days. So tired...so so tired of hearing about it, regardless of the material.

What Steam stuff have you been playing?

Some older stuff that I had never tried, like A.R.E.S. The Witcher 2 patch. Nothing major. We skipped some iOS stuff, too (so you should rejoice!): Crow, Galaxy on Fire 2, some others.

i enjoy all their games and their pandering cuz that's what they've been doing for years. but when they do a 180 about the ending, that's just annoying.

don't skip stuff!

Sure it's annoying, but I don't think "their games are not art!" is a valid argument to support anything.

Besides what's done is done. Bioware doing a 180 and completely changing the ending (which they won't) wouldn't erase the experience I had with the game, unfortunately.

I got past the ME3 spoilercast and now i'm immensely saddened that I wasn't on listening when the live stream happened ( if it did).
So I ran your questions by Dana.

I don't know why dana felt that the mass relays were saved in the other 2 endings. They get destroyed by in all the ending if I'm not mistaken.
She tells me that she heard that she knew that they were destroyed in the other two endings. So either you misunderstood or she misspoke. She can't remember exactly what she said.

Did any of you got the synthesis option? I know that you didn't speak about it, but i don't know if it was because you didn't choose it or it just wasn't available to you guys.
She hasn't yet, but probably will on her next playthrough.

Did you guys shoot udina?
No, Kaidan did it.

Did you cure the genophage?
Yes.

Did you save tali's planet?
Yes.

Did you recruit the geth?
Yes.

Did you kill miranda's father?
No, Miranda did it.

Did you kill samara?
No. She talked Samara out of killing herself.

Did tali kill herserlf?
No.

Unlike me, Dana loves spoilers, and will actively track them down (through FAQs, fan sites, and YouTube videos) in order to get the best ending in a game. Personally, I don't get it, but I can't helps but love her.

Its too bad mik didn't pay above the average for the Humble Indie Bundle because I would be curious about what he thought about Kooky (the movie that came with the bundle). I personally thought it wasn't great, but the way the puppets looked/moved and how they integrated real animals in the movie was fantastic.

I also got to agree not to skip stuff. Hell, if I find CJ's trip debacle interesting, then I am sure as hell going to find the game discussion interesting.

I kind of tuned out while listening on the drive this morning and must have missed the joke. Why did they play a recording of a 12 year old Japanese girl being tortured during the break? That was some disturbing stuff.

That, my friend, is from the game Vib-Ribbon. Which is an awesome Japan-only PS1 music platformer from the creator of PaRappa the Rapper(tm).

Back when we both worked at Ziff Davis, I presented Shane Bettenhausen with the cover artwork of Mastiff's then-unreleased PS1 classic, Easter Bunny's Big Day. For a day, I had him convinced that it was a butchered localized port of Vib Ribbon.

They're still going strong. But I appear to be the only host participating at this point. Mostly because, according to science, Phil, CJ and mik suck.

Yeah, I try and participate in all of them. It's a blast. I was hoping you all hadn't given up because the P1P Host Teams seemed like a pretty rad idea.

The only use I have for 3DS folders is to go buy a physical folder to shove my 3DS into and hide it

I'm really platform agnostic

Hey, I bought it the day it came out and can't wait until there's another game I can play on it. It's just been seemingly ages since that's happened. (and I don't think I said "hide it")

I want to get back into it. I really couldn't play while I was out of the country because there were days when I had no internet to connect to. Now that I'm back my excuse is laziness.

All of this talk about Zelda is making me want to play it. It's been sitting in the shrink wrap since Christmas. Sounds like it's pretty great if you give it the time. Also enjoyed Mik's subtle joke about
Klepek and Fez
'whispered about for three years now'. Or at least that's what I thought it was about.

I don't get the "Hot Shots needs more content" comment, mik. You haven't seen everything in the game now yet you'd buy some new DLC? Why?

Honestly, I didn't realize there was more. I quit playing the tournaments because I was sick of seeing the same courses, so I assumed that's what was there.

How about this--I'd pay them five bucks to just unlock everything for me. I hate having to unlock new courses in a golf game. I want the variety on offer from the moment I give them my money.

I totally agree with that. Especially with a golf game. There are an infinite number of way to make courses more difficult/easier so there is no reason to lock them away behind progress gates. I like having characters as unlocks though, gives me something to keep playing the challenges for.

I haven't gotten around to the demo from what I've read I get the opposite impression of Dragon's Dogma from Mike. It doesn't seem like a game you'll be able to just run around in. Seems like Dark Souls lite with some open world rpg quests throw in.

Either way I'm pretending the game is Breath of Fire VI: Dragon's Dogma. I'm naming my guy Ryu and my pawn Nia!

"Dark Souls Lite" is definitely a game I would buy. I love everything about Dark Souls, except for the part where I'm not good or patient enough to play it with any measure of success.

I too do not understand the adulation from game scribblers for Sessler leaving his job. For one I thought G4 no longer existed (as a directv subscriber, it basically doesn't) and second...so what? He seemed like the most generic guy in the world. Are we going to have similar candle light vigils when the spike TV finds a new job as well?

I would do terrible terrible things to get upgraded versions of Solomon's Keep and Solomon's Boneyard on my vita. Two of my favorite games on iOS but both are dual joystick games :/

The one that occurred to me was Bike Baron--as I was playing Trials Evolution. Obviously, it isn't a fraction of the game that Trials is, but it's damn good, loaded with content, and would be more fun using traditional controls. If they could somehow announce that for the Vita a week or two after Trials hits XBLA, I feel like that could be a huge win.

But there are scores of iOS games (like Solomon's Keep and Solomon's Boneyard) that would be perfect for the Vita. There are plenty that I would gladly repurchase--even at ten bucks--just to play with sticks and buttons.

Dark Souls Lite would be fine w/me too; I never bothered to play that game because of all the talk of its insane difficulty. I have no interest in playing a game where that's a selling point. That said I don't know that I have time for a huge RPG; I'll have to see what the reviews peg the completion time at.

Re: Sessler - I don't really have any reaction. The guy parted ways with his employer - I didn't get the impression he was fired. That kind of thing happens. It's only something to get upset about when a buncha folks get laid off, etc.

iOS games on Vita - Bike Baron! YES! I guess my opinion of that type of thing might be somewhat skewed because the games I like on iOS are very quick-hit and use the touchscreen without a virtual D-pad. So there really aren't many games I can think of where I'm pining for sticks and buttons. The games I've been playing recently are more or less all that way.

Someone mentioned PlayStation Suite as a way for more devs to get in on Vita on the ground floor. But isn't that like saying developing for Dreamcast is as easy as making a Windows CE app? PlayStation Suite, to me, doesn't seem like it takes direct advantage of the Vita hardware since it's so cross-platform focused. IMO, the best games are almost always natively designed or developed for the platform they're on - be it iOS, Android or whatevs.

Bike Baron would have taken a little bit of effort. I don't get why they didn't have Joe Danger ready to capitalize on the Trials hype.

God, yes. A portable Joe Danger would be tremendous.

I just want anything on the Vita at this point--especially in the downloadable category.

I can't believe there are no Vita RPG's. What the hell Sony?

Also, it sounds like Vita Madden is going to be pretty crippled, so hopes of this being a great sports game machine may be strangled in the cradle.

Well Disgaea just came out (which I picked up) but probably not what you meant

Either way you are 100% right. Sure the vita has a backlog of great PSP RPGs but I want something Vita specific, and I'll go ahead and say it, trophies! Stupid Vita trophies app is so much better than the PS3 one that I'm slowly starting to care about them.

I wish Tales of Innocence R came over. Anyway at least Resistance and Gravity Rush are coming, nothing much after that though

Curious to see what comes out of E3. Probably more vaporware that will never come out (Bioshock) but who knows. I hope Soul Sacrifice is there, interested to see what that one is all about

I love Disgaea, but they are just remaking the same game. It's the SRPG version of Dynasty Warriors.

As to the PSP games, I played the ones I wanted when they came out. It's a goofy argument, as though the assumption is that no one on the planet owned a PSP.

If this E3 has nothing for the Vita I'll probably give up on the system for now. Although, if they have nothing for the Vita why would Sony even show up?

I expect them to lean heavily on new portable entries of console franchises, which happened to the PSP to some extent. Madden, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, blah blah blah. Transfarring. Maybe a Ratchet-something. Safe bets. And honestly that's not at all what they need to do. They need a Pokémon-caliber portable exclusive that is something wholly unique they can say 'can only be done on Vita.'

But...who knows if they have that.

With our luck they will proudly announce PlayStation Home for Vita and the world will collapse in on itself.

That would be a miserable failure.
