I did the same, don't expect anything.
It's a remaster. It doesn't take that much to hit full profitability. warring about sales is meaningless in this case.

Seems about right, and I hope MS didn't expect better results.
On PC/Xbox it's essentially a patch for a game that has been available for a long time (and that was playable even with modest hardware). On Playstation it's a novelty but if you aren't into the multiplayer it's basically a sub 10 hours story without a horde mode or some other features to keep you playing.
I'd imagine a Gears 2 would do better numbers, since it has never been remastered, isn't officially available on PC and offers a more content rich experience.

as much as I love this game, I really wish they touched up the multiplayer a bit. I don't mind center screen shooting but I see where people are coming from. No hip fire reticle and no hit markers makes it hard to see what you are doing wrong especially when you are in the middle of a gnasher fight.
Also servers are trash, haven't been able to get on for hours now. Waste of a weekend!

You can't even find a match in MP on ps5. I tried cross play on, console only on, off, and all game modes. 0 matches.
The coalition makes 343 look like rockstars.
E day is doomed if you can't even get this old of a game to work fine on launch week. Fucking pathetic.

It's not a launch. It's been available on Xbox Xbox and Xbox PC for 10 years. It's literally just a patch for those 2 platforms. And there's zero evidence that anyone on Xbox PS5 has ever cared about Gears of War

Well, it's #8 on the U.S. PSN store, #5 on the UK store. Ranked by revenue, so might even be a tad bit higher up if unit sales was the metric used.

Yeah..I didn't even bother with Forza. There's an million racing games out there..I have bought Gears recently, so I'll be smashing it during my downtime today.
Even on Xbox, Forza Horizon is a much bigger franchise now

And before anyones asking: no, they did not patch the glitched trophies. What a bunch of asswipes.
There's literally zero chance I care at all for E-Day. Not unless Cliffy B comes back.

There's likely some stories that never came out of working with him but we all know for sure he's cool with kid diddling so that's reason enough to not work with him again.

I mean he may be a weirdo today, but he definitely knew how to direct games. GoW1 was revolutionary, rough, brutal, it had its problems, sure, but the fundamentals were right. Just compare the mapdesign with any CoD map and you know, back in the days, epic were kings in creating multiplayer games.
