Like Hex was saying, you'd have to remove Ingot, Reactor, and Citadel for standard legality. Without the Ingot, your mana base doesn't allow Gavony or Vault to ever activate (this could obviously be fixed with certain dual lands). Platinum Emperion and Elbrus both seem far too high costing to include. If you wanted to, though, you could use Quicksilver Amulet to get the Emperion in. Perhaps consider adding blue for consistency's sake. Treasure and Trinket Mage could make the deck a little more stable while allowing you to get away with the one-offs. Grand Architect can allow you to get artifact creatures out faster. Wurmcoil Engine has really decent synergy with Worldslayer. Sphere of the Suns may allow you to ramp a little faster. I may be wrong, but it seems like you really want Worldslayer to activate. I know it would die along with everything else, but Invisible Stalker could be used to push the Worldslayer through. Consider Oblivion Ring or more Dispatches to ensure Worldslayer goes off. You would probably want to add more Indomitable Archangels as well.

I don't think this is really the end of the discussion on the deck. Darksteel Plate plus Indomitable Archangel is a good combo, but the numbers of each are far too weird to get regularly. You would probably want to tick Puresteel Paladin up to 4 copies as it is really the driving force behind the deck currently.

I think that we could really get a hive mind type of thing going here that could produce some real solid results in general. It's nice to get multiple takes on a deck.
Thanks for all of that. I bookmarked your post to comb through later. A lot of those cards don't mean anything to me. IIRC, I didn't use Wurmcoil Engine because the card is expensive and I was trying to keep deck costs down. I thought a lot about making it a W/U deck, but I feel like if I add blue I'll have the compulsion to add a bunch of counterspells, since I'm a control freak.

Do boosters cost the same online as they do in store?
More importantly to me: is there a way, any way, to get free cards once you get an account? I have patience, but not a lot of money.

When you buy an account you get a starter set of fairly unimpressive cards and then a set of "Planeswalker" cards which are untradeable and only usable in a New Player Room. Those cards are loosely based on stuff from DOTP but you can build any deck you want with them.

I only use those Planeswalker cards and still get plenty enjoyment out of MTGO without putting anymore money into it. It just scratches that itch of "I wanna play some Magic immediately".

Not necessarily free, but... One strategy is to buy some packs, go into a draft, then take every rare you see. You'll most likely lose the draft that way, but you'll get your moneys worth out of it. Selling cards on MTGO is super easy, so this way, you can fund a lot of singles purchases with very little investment.

Also, there's almost never a reason to just go in and buy a pack and open it. If you are going to spend money, buy three packs and draft. This way, you can horde cards like I mentioned above, or at least have the chance to win some free packs.

Is there a way to get rid of the gold border cards if you made the mistake of opening the pack? If there is not, is it easy to trade all your real cards from one account to another? Thanks

You can't get rid of them but you can just use the drop down filter at the top of the deck editor to hide them. Set it to Standard/Modern/Classic/whatever you are making.

I started MTGO a while back, but only paid the original 9.95 or whatever.
My problems:
A) You can not replace ripping packs and holding cards and whatnot, you just can not.
B) I hate the interface, in every way possible.
C) Trading is a pain in the ass, why can you just just click on someone and click trade and enter a secure trade.

I still say, If Wizards would put points on boosters where you get points in each booster to use on MTGO like for every 3-5 packs of physical boosters you get one pack of MTGO or something I would be all over it.
IT would get Wizards more money in the log run because more packs would get opened, and when people get into MTGO they will spend money on tickets for drafts and events.
It is win win.

D) Net decks run rampant in casual rooms.

These are my complaints as well (though I added one of my own). I am often tempted to get back into it just for drafting, because I don't get to do that very often and it is probably my favorite way to play the game. But I hate the idea of those cards just languishing on the server when the draft is over. Takes a lot of the fun out of stumbling onto a really good card you've been hunting. So I just remember all of these issues and the temptation goes away.

Why aren't we talking about Favorable Winds?

T1: Delver
T2: Delver flips, Favorable Winds, Delver swings for 4/3 in the air

Then go crazy from there. I'm probably going to replace Lingering Souls for Midnight Haunting, just so I can have the mana up to decide whether I want to mana leak or cast Haunting. Then you also have the captains. With this out, Dungen Giest get's a 4/4 body, letting it sustain from most burn spells including Inferno Titans. It's the fliers Honor of the Pure. Will probably run 4 of these and go aggro spirits.

I love me some favorable winds, it goes great with delver, goes great with spirits.
Many things.
It would have been a lock if it gave something else like the white enchantment for tokens, but it will still find uses.

Can you actually make a profit doing that, or break even?

Also, are sets released physically and via MTGO simultaneously?

Thanks for answering all my questions.

Can you link me to this card? I can't find it on any databases

You can "go infinite" where you're making a positive number of tickets per tournament you enter, or whatever, but iirc it's much harder to do it in a draft, you need to be playing in standard tournaments.

On the topic of Favorable Winds:

Are those swan horses?

There is no way this is the correct thing to do.

As said on the Channel Fireball review video today, Favourable Winds is the reason Intangible Virtue and Lingering Souls are both banned in block.

Ya, I think I'm completely done with troll and toad. This is the condition they gave me for my "NM" Puresteel Paladin... There's gouges across the card and a good amount of white showing on the side. I've never seen "played" cards in this shape. What a joke.

Wow, that is terrible. That's barely even in playable condition.

I've toyed with buying singles from them before, but seeing that? My interest has plummeted.

Venfayth gave a good answer to the first question. From what I can see MTGO releases sets after paper Magic does. I think I saw that AVR will come out on the 21st of next month on MTGO vs May 4th for paper.

It's not always like that. I've spent hundreds of dollars on singles over the last two years from them but for them to even ship that just really pisses me off and to give me the run around on customer support over a card worth less than $3 when it looks like that is just infuriating. There's nothing that different about them, at least for me, to not just always order somewhere else from now on. For you to pull that out and ok to ship it is absurd.

Can you use cloudshift to prevent a treacherous pit-dweller from switching sides?
Yes, use it in response to the control switching trigger, it reenters the battlefield on your side, but loses its counter.

Yes. Another possibility is Stifle or Sundial of the Infinite (if it dies on your turn).

A third possibility is simply to put a +1/+1 counter on it.

Yikes, good thing it was on something like that and not on a Jace or a Sword. FWIW, I typically buy my cards from StarCity and haven't had a problem with them yet (though their singles prices is a bit higher that T&T's).

Stifle isn't legal in modern?

Ah I see, 8th edition and up.

Starcity is the best if you care about the condition of the cards that you buy. When you buy a card from them you will get it in the condition you ordered it. If you don't they will go through great lengths to correct the mistake as long as you contact them about it. It's for that reason and their stock of cards that they're the biggest and most popular online retailer and why they command a (slight) premium on prices of cards.

Edit:

Trickbind is the Stifle equivalent for Modern from the Time Spiral block.

How is it barely even in playable condition? It's definitely not NM, but it looks fine to me for practical purposes.

Can you get discounts at card stores online if you ask for cards in poor shape? It doesn't really matter to me. Gives the card character.

I'm not saying your frustrating isn't justified, Zaraki, since you paid for something you did not get.

Pretty sure this is not the kind of card they want to have floating around in Modern.

Ya, that's why I'm split. It's a cool card and fun to see it used with things but I'm also afraid it would break a lot of things way too easily and cause problems which I wouldn't want either.

Ya, you get a discount but they charge you more for the better quality which is what I paid for. Like I said, it's not even close to NM, there's literally 5 or 6 gouges across the card. It's just disappointing after all they used it that when shipping a NM card you see that when pulling together the order and thing it's fine and have been unhelpful in getting a replacement for over a week now. What if it was a sword or expensive card? It loses a lot of value being in that condition, would it be to get a Jace in that condition after paying $60? Like I said, it's frustrating that they're CS is so unhelpful over a less than $3 card.

No way that is NM. I've been buying singles online, and that condition is definitely EX. I typically get my cards off hotsauce, channelfireball, starcity games and ebay.

Card prices do vary with condition. There are people who doesn't really care about card condition. I've seen a half burnt Mishra's Workshop on ebay that went for about US$100.

Say what you will about Star City's prices, but they make good on situations like this. I bought a full-art foil Deathless Angel from them that came gouged with crazy rub wear on the borders and was pissed off. I contacted them, pointing out I paid for the NM/M version and this was unacceptable. They sent me a new version and told me to keep the other one free of charge.

Well, I would let you keep the shitty condition card no one is gonna buy too lol. No point in paying to get dud stock back

It's stock they could have sold as a lower condition item. I get what you're saying, but it was just a nice gesture that I didn't have to send anything back and they just handled it at my word.

Sadly this is the replacement for the first one that had a chunk of black border ripped off.

I have a couple of Puresteel Paladins, but no card protectors, if you can point me to a way to safely package them, I could mail em to you. No charge or anything as I don't play anymore.

Nah, don't sweat it. I have a playset now, that one I initially ordered was all I needed to finish my playset, I'm just frustrated how big of a problem it's been for such a cheap card and now after two shipments they're still in awful condition, especially when advertised as NM. I really appreciate the offer though, I at least can still play with it. Like I said just frustrated with T&T after all the money I've spent there and have purchased from them exclusively for the past almost 2 years now.

Going to FNM for the first time tonight. Is it just sealed limited? How long does it usually go to? Im old.

Depends.... Smaller stores rotate, others offer everything but start at different times in the night.

There can be drafting or regular standard play, and some even legacy tournaments.

Edit: Best thing is to call the store if you're not sure what they're offering.
