Has anyone playing Jetpack Joyride with the new update noticed a problem with touch responsiveness? Sometimes I'll have to tap the pause button 4-5 times before it actually registers-things like that.

This will be a day long remembered.

I have the same issue

I got it to work by redeeming the code in iTunes.

Is your 'Purchased' tab working in your App Store? I can't even install purchased apps right now. At first it was stuck on "Loading..." now it's "We're sorry, we cannot complete your request to the iTunes Store at this time."

I assume this is all related.

Yup. Same here. I guess I will just try later.

Jetpack Joyride question:

Do different jetpacks perform differently? I'm not noticing any such difference between machine gun and laser.

So MotoHeroz is bullshit. It's not fun in the "just one more try" way. It's "just one more try" so I can play some different damn levels. :|

What's so bad about Zenonia 4? I'm playing it right now and I've had lots of fun with it so far. Touch D-pad always sucks though, but I've tried worse.
This is one of those cases where you won't realise what's wrong with it until you actually play CrimsonHeart. Then once you've played CrimsonHeart, the bar for aRPGs on iOS is raised so high that everything released will inevitably end up disappointing you.

I'm going on about 100 hours with my current save file on CrimsonHeart, not anywhere near being finished. The game just oozes quality.

Yeah, it seems like they fucked it up to get microtransaction money.

There's only 5 guys on the NeoGAF leaderboard. Plus, the physics piss me off sometimes too. I need to buy Trials Evolution so I can at least be pissed off that I can't get a specific time, not that I can't get enough stars for new levels because I can't get enough upgrades for my vehicle because I can't get enough coins for upgrades because I can't get enough stars. :|

Trials Evolution is the best game on the 360, nothing like the shit show that is MotoHeroz.

Yeah, it was a good week for 360 with Fez and Trials, and, incidentally, The Witcher 2. I only say this because I just started up the first Witcher for the first time yesterday and I'm in love. I don't know why I didn't play earlier. So it's been a time sink for anything not Tribes Ascend. I even bought 11 (yes I counted) iOS apps this week and have only touched MotoHeroz, lol.

Somebody played Spellsword? Impressions?

http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/spellsword/id498685137?mt=8

I am attracted...

Just played it on the train home for an hour
Its quite entertaining and difficult at later stages

It plays kinda like super crate box i guess, you're in a one screen arena and move between spell cards which give you different abilities/effects
Theres a mission mode which i got about halfway through in that time but obviously the highscores on endless will be the real competition. Oh and theres a loot/upgrade system which will add to longevity

Overall a very enjoyable game

Spellsword is good yes, it's not as tight as SCB, the controls can feel a little off at times and it seems to be more about luck at points but the developer is active on TA forums and is looking to keep improving it.

Very much worth the price.

A while ago, somebody posted a screenshot of a game called 'The Other Brothers'.

I can't find the post in particular, but I saw that the site has a trailer now. Has it been posted already or not? http://www.theotherbrothersgame.com/

However, I thought this was gonna be an oldskool adventure point n click game, but somehow the trailer made me think twice about that. I think now, that it's 'just' going to be another platform game. What do you think GAF?

It was posted, and I think the gameplay is still up in the air.

I would prefer a primary-colored adventure game. I find the action/arcade genre so dreary on iOS.

Yeah, it's going to be a platformer. I believe the developers mentioned so on the Touch Arcade forums.

The actual quote:

That's what you would expect from a Platformer isn't it? This is not a "Point&Click" game but we would love to hear ideas on how to spice things up if you have any. We do have a few things we want to try but we're always open for people's ideas.

Ah, ok must have missed it then. I don't mean to be an asshole, but I was hoping for a traditional adventure game when I saw the screenshots for the first time, I'd be a little disappointed if it turned out otherwise.

So was I but I'll still give the game a fair chance. I can't turn away from good pixel art.

1.) Is that "Fling" thumb pad attachment any good? Will it hurt the screen?

2.) Is there a comfortable way of holding the iPad? I don't know if it's exclusive to the iPad 3, but it's weighty in a way that makes holding it kinda uncomfortable.

It's calle "Idiot iPad Devs Putting Their Controls at the Bottom of the Fucking Screen". I find that when the controls are placed in the middle of the screen (ie, where you thumbs naturally go to when holding the device) then games play fantastically and it's all very comfy. But then that shit is at the bottom of the screen you need wrists of steel to keep from aching. It's bloody stupid . We need to spread the word, start a revolution! MIDSCREEN CONTROLS ON IPAD BY DEFAULT! DEFAAAAAAAUUUULLLT!!!

My code from FreeAppDaily is saying "This code is only valid for customers of the Store" when it attempts to redeem it.

Anyone had this problem?

Interesting. I just gifted an app to someone and it said the same thing. It looks like a recent bug or something - a few comments on Twitter alluding to this in the past half day or so.

Normally it would say something like that for codes generated in different countries (and it would but the country on front of the word "Store"), but we have the same country.

I will get the giftee to try on iTunes.

Quoted for Truth and Necessity.

SCB on the iPad was unplayable for me, give us the option to move them or GTFO you lazy bastards.

Just finished Macinarium. My favorite IPad game so far. Anyone into point and click adventure /puzzle games should check it out. Only for iPad 2 and up..I believe

Galaxy on Fire 2 HD is 1/2 price this weekend, $4.99

Likely as cheap as it's going to get - it also has a great solution to the problem Jedeye mentions, you can slide the joystick/buttons up/down according to your thumb preference on the screen (gyro controls with it's sensitivity settings work wonderfully as well).

Shame that the Supernova expansion was delayed to late August, I've 100% completed the game until then with the best ship, modules and weapons. Might buy a hauler and grind out some trading millions to bank.
Itching for another game like this on iOS.
