That magazine cover made me realise that this is the first hulk with body hair ...

It's not even post credits. A good chunk of people were starting to leave when the scene appeared.

Also, it really surprised me, but people started to cheer and clap when
motherfucking Thanos
showed up. I'd assume most people were Marvel comics fans, but still.

So there is not a true post credits scene ?

So what they said about shooting a new scene ?

I watched this yesterday and all that I have to say is that Marvel/Disney would have to be totally out of their minds to not keep Whedon for the sequel.

really curious with Black Widow praise I've been reading... can't wait for the movie. my city is finally going to open an IMAX theater scheduled this May, I hope Avenger will be the premiere movie. it'll be expensive, but hopefully worth it.

I'm sure it's been said a lot already, but this Hulk is the one who deserves his own movie.

Joss did a fantastic job on the script, his jokes sometimes felt a bit out of place - but the moment you leave the theatre you realize these moments made the movie.

Thank you!

I thought you were from the UK and you already saw it.

Nope. USA here. Just absorbing all I can from the ads. I am a weak fool for this movie. I have been waiting for an Avengers movie for 20 years.

The problem with being so hyped up for a movie like this is that I almost always leave disappointed. I usually try and temper my expectations so I dont leave slightly down, but damn are all the impressions raising my hype meter more.

Joss Whedon giving us the Hulk we deserve. I hope.

Same here, sometimes too much praise can just raise expectations too much. And I went ahead and saw some of the spoilers/gags on this site and others. Shouldn't have done that.

One thing i did not like was
how easily banner just converted into the hulk im the final battle, there was no setup to actually make him angry rather h said im always angry that was not a good conversion

Just saw it in Taiwan, and it was awesome. The Hulk was definitely the audience favorite.

Other than all the other great Hulk scenes already mentioned,
I liked Hulk tearing up the F22 Raptor. Everyone's thinking "eject! eject!" and when the pilot does Hulk grabs him anyways and chucks him away.

He kind of explained it earlier in the movie where
he mentions that he tried to kill himself but couldn't because of the other him would just spit the bullet out. Which is why he was calm when that thing was hurling towards him, the hulk wouldn't let him kill himself.
.

Superhero Hype has up two new TV spots. DAT HULK!

Cannot find YouTube links for them, but that second spot. DAMN. Seriously, do the bad guys exist simply to be cannon fodder for Hulk to smash? If so, I see absolutely no problem with that.
Love that second one, esp. these bits;

In English? How is the translation?

English with chinese subs. I don't know about the translation, I ignored the subs. Audience seemed to laugh at the right moments though.

It's like what a lot of movies are doing these days, where there's a short set of credits that are done with style and it still feels like part of the film (like James Bond), and then there's the basic black scrolling credits. The 'post credits' scene is only after the first part, you don't have to wait long.

What's so annoying is that people just get up and start talking during the first part. I can maybe understand with other films, but these are obviously people that have seen Marvel films before, they should know that it isn't finished yet.

Movie's actually not amazing. All that time was not well used at all.

That said, it has its awesome moments where you can't help but smile / cheer / laugh out loud / get teary eyed.

Loved the dialogue in the film. Really well done.

"That man over there is playing Galaga. He didn't think anyone would notice but I did"

Also Banner/Hulk was done perfect. The scene when they are all arguing and Banner starts to raise his voice and they all back away. So good.

The theater here in syria is super expensive, but at the same time it's the most 'luxurious' cinema i've ever been to. It's the only real theater around here anyway, so I gotta do what I gotta do.

They only have like 5 movies at a time and they replace them with a newer one every Thursday. I just called and they will be showing Avengers in 3D (only..oh well) this Thursday. T-minus 5 days!

You are Syrian ?

Already saw the film here in Peru

Pretty funny and entertaining

Kind of chose the wrong two years didn't you :P

What city do you live in? With the news showing Syria the way it is these days, are such luxuries still quite casually consumed?
Exactly, friends always tell me this :lol. I really don't want to derail the thread, but i'm in Damascus
(near mezzeh/sit zaineb/jaramanah)
. The conflict is more confined to specific regions/cities; I think most of the population isn't really suffering the climate you see on TV. I don't personally know anyone who's daily life has changed drastically, apart from some friends partaking in small protests/pulling pranks etc.

If you want to reply/me to elaborate, quote this post and comment in one of the syria threads; i'll find it. I would've taken it to the PM's but my limit is 50 and i'm full.

Sadly the movie two and half hours long with only maybe 30 min of awesome, so we have two hours of asking "Why are they not punching something?"

And by they I mean the Hulk.
That's to be expected, too much of anything (i.e. Hulk) diminishes its shock value. I'm sure most of that character development is needed, and I for one am glad that they don't all get along right away.

"Shock value" is the wrong term. Impact, I'd say. Significance, perhaps.

Just got back from the theater. Loved the movie. It's not that usual for people to applaud after a movie here, but pretty much everyone did. Much laughter during the movie as well.

I thought it was awesome. First half hour or so dragged a bit but not to bad, closing hour was fucking great. Have to see how it holds up on a second viewing. Me and my friends laughed at some of the cheesier moments though. I liked them and thought it was needed, one of my friends would've liked it to be more serious. Saw it in 3D and it didn't add anything. (Was the only option.) And it made a scene unnecessary hard to see in. Just a mild scene spoiler
The forest scene, especially when Thor and Loki was talking.

Oh and people were leaving when the extra scene came on, and just stood in front of the screen. A guy in the row behind me had to tell them to sit down.

EDIT: And about Thor (in this movie), nothing to spoilerific just some random thoughts.
He totally got the shaft, would've like to seem him get to do some more badass stuff. Like seeing him take on that squadron or taking down a worm or something. Just him getting to unleash some more fury.

And Maria Hill should've been a bigger bitch.

Yeah, that's more along the lines of what I meant. Do we think Thor 2, Iron Man 3, Captain America 2, a new Hulk movie, plus an Ant-Man or other avenger-character movie will all make it in time before Avengers 2?

Just back from seeing it with friends. Easily the best Marvel film yet.

Loved the chemistry between the heroes- their banter, their rivalry, their distrust- all worked so well. Hulk stole the show and got the most cheers from the crowd.

Little miffed at the lack of origin for the baddies, but all in all it was good stuff.

I actually really liked the pacing and how they gave time to set up all the characters, then time to let them interact outside of combat before the climax. There was plenty of action to go around.

If you think about it every show has been an ensemble cast. Balancing power sets and characters with larger than life events.

Buffy - Super soldier

Willow - Sorceress Supreme

Angel - Vampire

Same goes for Angel. Each character is essentially a superhero with special skills that nobody else does as well as they do. In an episode of Buffy they have Willow telepathically linking the Scoobies as they fight vampires much how the X-Men use telepathy.

Just came back from the theater. The film was awesome, so many gif-able moments. And they showed the trailer for The Hobbit in 3D before it. My hype skyrocketed.

I definitely got the feeling that they tempered down Thor in this movie on purpose so they'd have something to throw at us for the sequel. If every character was performing at optimum, the sequel won't visually have as significant of an impact.

Yeah there is no way
Iron man would stand a chance in their fight, even with them being somewhat weaker and more equal than their comic counterparts. Thor in his own movie is way more powerful than anything Iron Man ever did in the MCU. I understood why he didn't go all out on Loki though.

Also, come to think of it. In the scene where Loki and Stark are talking why
doesn't Tony get "converted"? I first thought it was because the bracelets was giving him some kind of thin body armor but thats not the case. Was he tapping on his chest piece?
