Nick Fury should only ever be played by David Hasselhoff. If they wanted to model him on the more recent Ultimates version, he could have done it in blackface.

If I remember correctly, Ultimate Nick Fury was originally a white guy but got redesigned early on, and was designed to look like Sam Jackson.

not really that white

I think Pym is a must, regardless of whether Ant Man happens or not. But the other films they have optioned don't really offer too many opportunities for new Avengers- Doctor Strange is a Defender, so that's a no-go, the Guardians of the Galaxy are a team already, Black Panther is a film I definitely see happening, but before A2? Ehhhh. Ms Marvel is a film I do not see happening, and without one I don't see her being in A2 either. She's kinda tricky to explain, having her origin story be part of A2 would bog it down. (She should be in Cap 2- have her be Agent Danvers for the majority of the film, seeing as Cap will be working with S.H.I.E.L.D., and then give her her powers after the credits or some shit.)

Ideally, I'd add Ms Marvel, Pym and Vision.
Pym is a must. And if we get Pym, that brings us closer to giving us Vision and Ultron. I need Ultron in a movie.
I would agree on Pym, but at this point it doesn't seem like that will even be possible, since the last thing we heard about the script says that Pym will be in the 1960s with Scott Lang being in the modern day.

Unless that's been changed, it doesn't seem like we'll get Pym alongside the Avengers, ever. And in that case, Wasp as well. :\

And just watched it a 2nd time.

EDIT: And about Thor (in this movie), nothing to spoilerific just some random thoughts.
He totally got the shaft, would've like to seem him get to do some more badass stuff. Like seeing him take on that squadron or taking down a worm or something. Just him getting to unleash some more fury.
He
takes out several leviathans with his lightning, and the movie makes it very clear he's the only one even close to Hulk. He doesn't take out the whole Chitauri army, but does a lot

So regarding
Thanos... what is he then? And who was he refering to as "gave you that spear"?
Anyone?
Thanos doesn't say a word. All that is said by the Chitauri leader. Thanos is the one who gave Loki the spear, the one who knows how to use the Cosmic Cube and the one we can assume will do major asskickings in the sequel

Also, come to think of it. In the scene where Loki and Stark are talking why
doesn't Tony get "converted"? I first thought it was because the bracelets was giving him some kind of thin body armor but thats not the case. Was he tapping on his chest piece?
He doesn't actually touch Stark. He just touches the metal piece.

Got free tickets to it.

3D was awful (not shot in 3D I assume)
Hulk was funny.
Iron Man and "popps" had zero chemistry.
Captain Wimp looked stupid and didn't do anything.
Nick Fury is black lol
The villains were lame, weak etc
Thor was cool with his mjölnir.
Everyone weeped for
the random generic officer dude... really?
Pay more attention to the movies if you want to criticise them.

I think I'd put Captain America on a C as well.

He just looked totally out of his depth when compared to the others, the fight in the forest between Iron Man and Thor he was just a by stander. The final battle the others were out there tearing shit up and he was pretty much stuck on the ground on par with Black Widow. Hope they can really showcase him more in future.
Agreed, hopefully Captain America 2 beefs him up to be the genius strategist that he is.. so far he's pretty out of touch with his comic persona, tbh.

He was never just a good soldier.

Thor got to whack plenty of shit, but he wasn't really a major character in the film, despite being the antagonist's brother. I wanted more of the endearing, funny Thor from, um, Thor. He had a few good lines but all the other team members - possibly with the exception of Hawkeye - got more time.

I thought Cap did admirably in the fight scenes and showed off how he was a master leader and strategist. Besides, that shield kicks ass.

So sad having to tell people that no, despite Spider-Man getting a new movie, he's not showing up in Avengers 2.

Thor was funny when he kept being all dramatic and Asgardian while a normal human, now he's aware he can't act like that. And still, him asking
about the monkeys and the creatures with horns from Asgard
got some good laughs.

I'd rather have Wasp, they've got two science dudes already.

Like those two buffoons can compare to the genius that is pym

I'm surprised that sony and marvel can't work something out, it would basically be free advertising for sony's spider-man movies, and marvel and sony seemed to be on a somewhat not terrible relationship like marvel and fox.

I wonder if they have the rights to ben reily, hes better then peter anyway.

Right, but like I said earlier, if we get the Wasp then it won't be on the Avengers anyway, it'll be in the 60s and thus pointless. Unless they figure out a different way.. her + Lang?

Foreign estimate upto 73.1M in 3 days. (does not include big markets as Japan, China & Russia)

# Throughout the smaller Latin American territories opening Thursday, the Friday opening was the best ever Disney and Marvel opening day.
# Mexico represented the second highest opening day of all time.
# Brazil was the third highest opening day of all time.
# In the UK, the 2 days to date have exceeded the opening weekends of previous Marvel films Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America.
# Taiwan was the second highest Friday of all time.
# Hong Kong was the highest non-holiday Friday result of all time.
# India opened on Friday to the third biggest opening day for all Hollywood titles ever and highest ever for a Disney and Marvel opening day.
# Malaysia opened Friday to the #1 biggest opening day of all-time.
# Vietnam opened Friday to the 2nd biggest opening day of all time.
# And Iceland opened Friday to the #1 biggest opening day of all-time.
Hmm.

I'd wager that 60's idea has gone under heavy alteration since then.

Actually, I'd wager that the Ant-Man film is stuck in development hell and will be for a while yet. There's a reason Wright's moved on to Cornetto #3.

Well I'll assume they'll take their time for Avengers 2, so by then we could very well have Amazing Spider-Man 2. And it's not like Spider-Man needs advertising, it would probably benefit Avengers way more, which Sony might not be so cool with.

But still, during the
awesome long shot of the whole battle in the city
I kept thinking how well Spider-Man swinging between buildings would have fit.

Similarly, I think it's a shame we're missing out on the Fantastic Four, if only because I'd love to see the Avengers fighting Dr. Doom. Would make for a suitable higher tier of villain,
but still easily surpassed by Thanos. Fuck, Dr. Doom would probably work alongside them against him

We need some shulkie.

Make a hulk film about the leader kidnapping jen to lure banner to him, accidents happen, glorious green CGI boobs everywhere.

I don't think She-Hulk would be recieved that well. She'd be awesome, though, best Marvel heroine.

Come to think of it, wouldn't they include War Machine for the next one? I was kinda bugged he didn't show up here, having a superhero already introduced but not including him felt like a waste.

This is the part where I tell you my wet dream about an Avengers 2 with Stark leading the Avengers and Cap forming the Secret Avengers.

And yet that's what made Iron Man so great. How much action was actually in that movie compared to the second one? Which movie was better?

I don't mind a lot of build up if said build up is well done and if it's building up to something amazing which this movie seems to do.
But, you see, unlike in Iron Man, the story here is, well, rubbish.

If there's one movie you have to see to give any little sense to the Avengers' plot it's Thor.

do we get foreign totals on sunday as we do with domestic numbers?
We will get estimates but it wont be accurate as each reports from territory may come in for different days - for example the number we get on Sunday might not have the Sunday/Saturday numbers for certain markets.

Wrong again bob;

Feige hopes pre-production on Ant-Man could get going this year: "With Ant-man, I know Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish have written a very good draft, they’ve been working on it for many years now, and have made a couple of other great movies since then. I think this summer we’ll see some forward momentum with that."

"It’s somewhere. I’ll just say it’s closer than it’s ever been in its long maybe eight year history, and I usually e-mail Edgar every two or three days and over those eight years it’s got further away and closer… we are now closer than we’ve ever been," Feige said. "So I hope it will come together shortly."

It's been that way for a while, but things might be picking up fast.. Oh and some bonus quotes;

But the bulk of the conversation was about the Avengers' Civil War story. "Civil War was a great crossover story, with the superhero registration act where the government wants to force them to reveal their secret identities. Iron Man thinks it’s a good idea, Captain America disagrees, so that leads to a sort of civil war." said Feige, but he's unsure when it will hit the screens, "I certainly don’t think we’ll see that before Avengers 3, so maybe that’ll be a good number for it, who knows.”

An old draft of Luke Cage is knocking around, along with a more recent working of Black Panther, and Feige would "love to bring them to the screen".

Who do Daredevil's rights belong to? Fox? How long until they relinquish them?

Might as well contribute to the nerd orgy by hoping for a Heroes For Hire movie.

Ironman 2 gave the impression that War Machine was a sidekick. Iron Man 2 ruined that for us.

reminder: Marvel bought back the movie rights to Punisher a while ago. So he's gonna be in this universe (and possibly Avengers 2, i guess in some form of cameo or SHIELD related) with a new reboot baby.

+1 For this, introduce her in the next Incredible Hulk movie, and put her in the avengers 2 :D

hopefully she can be well received so that she could get her own movie.

I'd wait for Marvel to get the Daredevil rights back before a SheHulk movie so they can both lawyer up and battle, phoenix wright style

I can't wrap my brain around the Daredevil costume ever working in live-action.

Daredevil's costume is inherently cooler than, say, Thor or Cap's. Just don't make it out of shiny leather.

And go with the yellow version.

I heard Robert Pattison was rumoured for a reboot. I was against it, then I saw him in a suit, wearing sunglasses and I was like, "God damn - that looks just like Matt Murdock!"

Concepts like the Punisher, Daredevil are best treated differently than the Avengers. As to DD, it looks like fucking Fox is never gonna relinquish those rights.

Also consider that Pattinson is not a bad actor. He needs a big role to redeem him from Twishite, bigger than Cosmopolis too, so that everyone can know.

Anyway, saying Daredevil has a better costume than Thor is bull but I'll forgive you for reminding me of his far better yellow costume. :P

They must have ran out of budget for their
Thor entrance
. Their treatment of him really annoyed me to be honest because I felt he had the most to offer considering
the dynamics of his relationship with Loki as shown in his movie. I just wish they had done something with the bridge on Asgard; the scene in his movie where they ride on horseback across it was stupidly beautiful
.

The lines at my multiplex for this were unreal i don't think the cinema was quite prepared and it was absolutely pissing it down with rain and still that many people made the trip to come and see this.

It's going to be bonkers when this opens stateside.

It's amazing to think this summer could see two more high quality superhero movies.

The Bifrost is still broken bu I wish a Thor sequel takes us across the nine realms . There are the worlds of light elves, dark elves, dwarves etc. which can be depicted.

Got to watch this last night, thought it was a bit long but still ended up liking it. Good sense of humour throughout the film and epic set-pieces made this worth watching. I actually think this is the best Marvel film I've seen.
