The scene with Magneto and the three Nazis was the highlight of the movie for me.

Yeah definitely.

About The Avengers credits scene -
I didn't know who Thanos was before, but having read up on him he seems pretty cool. Problem for me is a complete CGI character and someone who has engineered this plot for Loki has seen it fail; what else can he come up with?

Someone who's seen the film and knows comics -
whats the Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos thing? Are they intrinsically linked? Is that where Avengers 2 is going?
Wikipedia has too many things going on haha

Infinity gauntlet was a device (gauntlet) created by joining several gems which controlled various aspects of the universe. You would have complete control of each aspect in your possession. Having all of them gave you full control of reality. The gems were the by product of a god which died and who's remains because the universe and the gems. In the Thor movie, its actually depicted as an artifact in asgardian care, so naturally its not as powerful in the movie fiction.

Uuh, yeah, spoiler that.

If you want an easy to read, pretty cool summary about what to expect for Avengers 2 (spoiler on the link):

Was the Infinity Gauntlet shown in Thor? How did I miss that?

Fassbender is great in everything. Honestly, they should have just filmed the original script for Magnieto - Origins. The one with Erik hunting down Nazi war criminals all over the world and the U.S recruiting Xavier to help track him down... Only to have them end up sympathising with each other and becoming friends.

That would have been an awesome movie to watch.
Argh.

I loved First Class and you make me like it less now that I know this version could have been.

Doesn't Marvel still produce the Fox movies? I thought the only issue was they can't have team-ups. Otherwise, I thought marvel was allowed to have their hands in the development. I would be surprised if they didn't.

I want to see a Daredevil movie in Marvel's hands. Character is awesome. If I knew enough about comics I'd write scripts for them all and play them out in my head :(

They are going to have to power down Thanos even without Infinity Gauntlet he is strong as hell , with it he would bitch slap the Avengers and drink a the beer same time.

This movie was great have to go and see it again .

Or power up the Avengers. But seriously, in general these movies are pretty powered down. I like how they said fuck it Hulk is a force of goddamn nature though.

CA doesn't do as much smashing as hulk obviously, but he's a great leader figure and is handled really well - I think you'll like it.

I'm not sure about that. Most of the time in the movie, he
acts like a fish out of the water, which he is.
I can remember only two moments of leadership,
one where he gives instructions to the cops (with comical effect), which was ok but nothing heroic, and one where he completely fails at strategy, with his "let's fight all the grunts, we'll deal with the portal later" stance. If the Avengers had followed his instructions to the letter, they would have lost the fight.

Yeah definitely.

I think i was one of the few people in the theatre who Thanos was, I yelled out, Thanos! fuck yeah! Everyone looked at me dumbfounded, never felt like such a nerd before.

I've gone three times. The last two, people remained silent when
he
showed up.

First time, though? People cheered and went bonkers. I assume most people were comic book fans since it was the opening day, and the rest would join because fuck why not? But it was still very awesome to see such a reaction.

Infinity Gauntlet is one of the most famous Marvel crossover events in the comics. Thanos is the main villain, and he basically bitch slaps the entire Marvel Universe. It's pretty cool.

I did the same damn shit.

i knew it too and after the movies everyone outside heard me explaining it to my friends and dozens came over and asked me about it since they didn't know. i felt like a huge nerd, but a popular one.

i never in my life read a comic book

I got the second scene details. I can't believe it.

Scene: the whole Avengers team post-battle quietly eating shwarma for about a minute, no dialogue.

It's odd because Hemsworth made an unrelated remark in one of his interviews recently about
eating shwarma
.

I hope to god I am not being trolled and being denied some juicy stuff

Ok, I took the risk and read this spoiler.

In costume?

Did people go bonkers at the scene with
the hulk punching Thor? And also the one with him reviving Ironman?
Because they went insane in the showing I went to.

Hahahahaha!!! DAMNIT, the syrian theater would have been ecstatic if that had made the cut. :lol
Everyone was already laughing more than they should have at the shawarma line :lol

Yes, very much so, but
Loki's beatdown
really brought the theatre down. The attendance were already racouous and completely sold on the movie, but man... I think I even screamed for a couple of seconds out of pure geek joy.

Yeah, but in all three, those were awesome and hilarious scenes no matter your knowledge of comics.

I found awesome they doing that at
Thanos
because you'd only ever do that if you knew about it.

That particular part brought the theatre down. The attendance were already racouous and completely sold on the movie, but man... I think I even screamed for a couple of seconds out of pure geek joy.

Same with me, stuff like that makes seeing a movie in a theatre sooo much fun.

just back from it tonight with some mates.

holy shit that was about as perfect an action movie as you can get .... wall to wall awesomeness.

the action onboard the SHIELD base would have been most other action flicks last 3rd ..

truely epic .... plotting to see it again this week

I wonder if the movies quality holds a second viewing. Im kinda interested to see it again. It was a really really entertaining ride.

I was wondering about that, too, so I went and watched it again!

Yes, it does. One the one hand, I now know the jokes, on the other hand, I could almost enjoy it more than the first time. I was less apprehensive, because I already knew they didn't mess it up.

Also, the second time was in 2D.

Americans desperately trying to numb the pain of the fact that we still got it first.
Enjoy your post credit scene. We still got the film first!

Whats everyone think of
that first loki vs captain america fight?
I thought cap would of put up a better fight. Does loki have super strength like thor?

Not quite as much, but definitely higher than a human's. Notice how even though Cap hits him Loki barely notices it but when Loki smacks him Cap is pushed away

Loki is a god. He'd be weaker strength wise compared to Thor but he'd still be much stronger than Cap. Yeah, Cap got owned in that fight :-/.
