really love the colors

Right when he says "I've put those I love in danger" we're cued the raining cemetery/funeral scene.
Stacy is undoubtedly going to die. Captain Stacy, that is.

None of the other movies ever delivered on the sensation of Spidey swinging through NYC as well as this does. Visually, this outclasses the Raimi flicks by miles.

I mean, really everything about this is better than Raimi's movies on paper. If the execution lets it down, it would be very disappointing.

Spider-man 2 is still my favorite comic book film by far, no questions asked.

Therefore I don't know that I will like this more, but going by the trailer, there is a chance.

The hype behind it is too. With all the big summer movies, this seems to be completely forgotten with so many. Everyone talking about all the other films coming... I don't know just to me it really seems this movie is getting ignored.

It's between Avengers and TDKR in terms of superhero releases. Two 800 pound gorillas of summer. One is the culmination of five films and years of trying to get these characters on screen together. The other is the sequel to one of the most acclaimed blockbusters ever. This is a reboot of something we already saw play out ten years ago, coming off a terrible installment. It has a lot of outside factors working against its hype.

So...
I take it the Lizard is behind this biological attack they mentioned. Especially with him busting open a can of smokey green.

Anyone want to venture a guess as to why?

Trailer seemed pretty good to me and the only Cg part which looked bad was the opening scene where he is just standing.rest looks great.

I think the people are just butt hurt over Riami not directing spidey movie.

Bonus point for no Inception Horn

also this is probably my favorite Spidey shot from Spiderman 2

Raimis were lacking some good spider-like poses, something tells me this film is gonna deliver on that front.

That's possible, but
I highly doubt it. She's looking up at Spider-Man, since he's the one being blamed for Stacy's death, so that wouldn't make sense if it was Ben's funeral tbh. Neither would Gwen.

If so
She doesnt seem terribly upset that he's dead. But maybe he died heroically so she's fine with it. We'll have to wait to find out

If they want to be more "accurate" he'll pop up in the college years.
But then here's Gwen in high school.

Not to be "that guy", but both Harry, Gwen, and MJ were present during his HS days according to the comics.

So...

The Lizard's main goal in the comics is to spread his condition/species

Well from what the toys have shown us...
The lizard gas turns other people into lizard like things as well. There's a toy set that leaked out a few months ago that shows some SWAT guys with lizard features.

Not sure why you tagged that since you're just describing what we saw in the trailer. Here are some actual spoilers to go with it though:
the rumor is that he starts turning other people into lizard monsters. The scenes we've seen of the cops and spidey in the sewers are where they come into play I believe. The cops get slaughtered by the lizard people.

Not feeling it. I dunno if it's the CGI fest or just the tone of it.. but it doesn't really click like the Raimi films did.
this is the reason!
you have to stop comparing it to riamis film.judge it on its own merit. Also cg here is leagues ahead of raimis movies

Have you ever read the comics? His ultimate goal when the Lizard persona takes him over is to transform the human population into reptiles, namely so he can control them iirc.

DAT FREEZE FRAME

Audience was fucking howling at that back in 2004

Yeah those were good times. I miss walking out of a comic book flick with a vibe like that. I haven't got that from any Marvel flicks yet despite their attempts at it. And Nolan's are good but they stick to a serious tone.

Hell, even Saturday Night Parker from SM3 was pretty damn entertaining.

Yea I think that's probably why.. thing is it's difficult for me to just ignore the previous films.

And re: the CG, I just mean it feels a lot more prominent here than in the Raimi films. It's of course done better.

It's not supposed to be a Raimi movie.
Of course, I'm not sure where I implied that it is? I just mean that unlike the Raimi films the atmosphere, tone, characters, etc don't really grab me.

I haven't walked out of a comic book movie with that vibe since TDK (yes, I loved it initially), and have only done so three times period - after S-M2, after BB, and after TDK. But S-M2 takes the cake. I remember seeing it opening day on June 30 and being so pumped afterwards that we went back each of the next three days :lol

Confession: I have seen no movie in theatres more than I saw Spider-Man 2, which I saw
6
times.
