A bunch more here.

So with
Thanos appearing in the ending;
does this ruin any chance of
Darkseid
showing up in any DC movies? I mean won't people confuse the two?

I forgot I was watching it in 3D. Totally forgettable.

But I am anti-3D, to disclose my bias.

I think it is a LieMax. Nice big screen, but it is a retrofit, digital, and I'm not sure how large you have to be to be a real IMAX.

Regarding Fury, particularly Ultimate Fury (who movie Fury is based on) - he's basically a manipulator and source of exposition, roles which he fulfills admirably in the movie. I don't know why people were expecting him to get his hands dirtier than he did.
Yeah, I loved his role and the fact that they showed a bit of his deceptive nature along with some action. Perfect in this movie imo, reminded me of Ult. Fury a bit in the hints of manipulatory nature.

Hopefully we'll see even more of that next time around, and maybe even see him get exiled or punished with Maria Hill taking over/turning against him, for example.

Joss Whedon fucking killed it. Killed it. One of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a while and what an active crowd. The comedic timing was spot on, action scenes were fantastic, pacing was great, characters all got adequate time for development. Only negative was the alien race. Probably movie of the summer, can't think of something else being more of a crowd pleaser. And to think how much GAF ridiculed and mocked Whedon before this came out.

GAF better get off Whedon's back after this and The Cabin In The Woods. Fantastic movies, both of em. On top of Firefly, Serenity, Dollhouse season 2, and Dr. Horrible. The guy has earned a "Will watch whatever you make/write" pass from me.

DAT A

beautiful

I don't want anymore movies. Just let it end on that note.

Sequels won't end that way. It's going to be some let down like Captain America turns into an alien then credits.

*cough cough*

I don't like a lot of Whedon's work. I LOVE Buffy, but think Firefly and other stuff is secretly bad.

Also only liked IM 1 of all these Marvel flicks.

Generally don't like huge action movies.

All that said.... boy I liked this movie. Cap done right. Hulk done right. Thor was cool. Iron Man was fun.
Rough start, but fuck does it improve.

the dark knight rises trailer got major claps, hoots and hollers in my theater. saw the movie with a great crowd tonight ... was a ton of fun.

Went to the 10am showing this morning, it was definitely great. I can't really think of a superhero film I liked more overall.

I loved this movie! My girlfriend, who hates movies and generally cannot make it through a movie without going to sleep or doing something else stayed awake the entire time and said she loved it too!

They did very well with this!

pretty good, and appreciate the bits of teaming up.

Dislike that the theater decided to show the very old trailers for tdkr and Spiderman. I mean the teaser, very first versions.

I've seen this twice now and I love, LOVE, this movie. If not a new favorite of all time, it's definitely my new favorite superhero flick.

Yeah I'm thinking this could be my new favorite super hero movie. It was awesome. The giddiness I felt when they all fought alongside each other was amazing. The hulk definitely stole the show. It's cool that they are doing a spinoff with him too. I'm definitely going to try and see it again.

And it has to be said, Scarlett Johansson is flawless.

Almost fell asleep during the major fight scenes. To be fair, I do that with almost every super hero movie expect the Batmans.

Okay movie, the dragon tattoo scientist was a bust for me, villains sucked. Hulk was the shit.

Saw it twice, 2D and 3D, the latter is horrible, dark picture, fuzzy, completely unnecessary.

That being said, I loved every minute of it. The movie handles these particular characters and their universe how it should. Nearly perfect.

My previous favorite comic book films were SM2 and Dark Knight, but both had something that irked me. In SM2 it was Raimi's obsession with vindicating and turning the villain into a nice guy at the end, which he also did in SM3.

In Dark Knight it was Batman's over the top voice. It's just nit picks, but Avengers didn't have anything that distracted or bothered me as much, so it's now my top SH movie.

:lol Wait, what scientist are you referring to?

My biggest problem
was that the villains were pretty boring. Just generic alien force and Loki does fuck all during the last battle. Loki was great until that last battle though, Tom Hiddleston is great.

....dragon tattoo scientist? Villains? There was no dragon tattoo scientist. And only one villain (who did a phenomenal job).

Regardless. I love this freaking movie. Love it to death. The perfect superhero film because there are so many heroics in it. Everything was done so right and remarkably. Good job Joss. You bastard.

Haha, what the fuck. I hope to hell this doesn't happen to me.

Gordon in a hospital bed!!!!

Yeah, Hulk stole the movie whenever he was on screen. Still not sure a stand alone movie will work with him. Not without another superpowered hero to "play off of" like Thor/IM/Cap.

I dunno
A lot of it was pretty "cheese", like iron man spinning in the rotor reminded me of superman spinning around the world, only that iron man is human and his brain should have turned to mush D:

Then theres the fact that nobody dies, hell they even go to an effort to show everyone evacuating and ejecting safely, which to me kind of made it feel more like a videogame movie, where theyre all just battling in an arena and since we know that they wont kill off any of the main franchise characters, theres no sense of danger.

Loki killed 85 people

he's adopted

Another Hulk movie will only work if they give us Intelligent Hulk. They've gone as far as they can with dumb hulk IMO

now that i've seen this i think this movie will make more domestic bank than TDKR.

man, the confidence on display in that action finale was something to see. what an amazing sequence of pure comic book awesomeness. blew me away really. whedon directed this movie with an incredibly assured hand.

Just got back. This movie was a ton of fun. I sat there, and was smiling half the time. I really have no complaints, and I was hoping for more. I'm going to end up watching it again really soon, probably. Also, DAT HUMOUR.

"Loki is Asgardian and my brother."

"He killed 85 people."

"He's adopted."

"Hulk? Smash."

"Are you an alien?"

"No."

"You have a condition..."

FUCKING HULK!!!!!! SMASHING ALL OVER MY FACE11111111!

fucking Thanos!

I loved everything about the movie. Is it fair to assume this was the same director or writer that did Thor? Because it had the same balance of action, story and well-timed comedy.

Smokin' crack, dogg. Did you watch the TDKR trailer before this movie started? The audience damn near stood up and applauded at THE TRAILER.

TDKR will attract a much wider audience. All the same people that saw The Avengers will see this, plus all the people who usually don't do superhero movies but loved Batman Begins and TDK, of which there are MANY.
