Wouldn't that be more of a tokyo game show type of deal anyway?
this was my thought too, but vaporware is unwelcome at most shows anyway.

What?
yep. And it has many "events" but the actually gameplay looks boring to me as well. Other games have run right past it.
Looks like KH1 combat to me. That isn't a good thing in my books. BbS at least did something pretty neat with its combat style.Looks no different from BBS to me.
What was the last game they announced more than 2 years before its release? They haven't really repeated that mistake in the last six years.
They have learned. In the past several years, they've done a very good job at having a short announcement to release date. XIII-2 had less than a year between being announced and released, and Dream Drop Distance was under two years.
It's just Versus from 2006 that's still languishing along, but they've learned their lessons from the XIII games.
Square should just cancel it at this point.

To be honest, I didn't care for Versus much prior to that trailer's release, and the combat in it didn't wow me over. I hope they improve on it.
They've already sunk too much time and money into it. They have to finish it now.

People it's still coming out. Probably early 2013.
...as a full length CG feature film![]()
Gearbox will bail them out!
Twhat they need to do is fix their broken development structure.
After playing, finishing, and platinuming Assassin's Creed II last week (and I enjoyed it far far more than the first... and I wish to experience the other games in the series now)
I like looking around at structures in games, and Versus' structures from the trailers seem pretty neat. I'd like to at least see the designs.
Personally I want it to be canceled so their resources goes elsewhere, which is why it would make me happy. My post wasn't a direct insult to anyone who is looking forward to this game. It's called an opinion.
One person can look forward to a game while other people can not criticize it's waste in resources and terrible development cycle? Your line of thinking is "funny" to me.
Square should just cancel it at this point.
It'll be Q4 2013 for Japan at the earliest.
If Bayonetta 2 really got cancelled, people can look forward to a new IP by Kamiya. If Versus XIII get's cancelled, SE will make another FF game :/Never said anything about not criticizing it. Also never said anything about insulting anybody. Your initial post just reminded me of a similar thing that happened in the Bayonetta 2 thread where a few posters were celebrating it was "cancelled." If you had said what you said above, I would not have commented.![]()

Why exactly? 6 years of effort and money are a lot to throw away because some people are impatient.

It's pretty sad that they and Gust have the most rpg output these days.

sigh, frankly not surprising. Wonder if its time to cancel my amazon preorder from 2006....
Well, gust makes pretty solid little niche games, the other two just churn out shit so it's not exactly shocking.
I'd certainly hope there's more to combat than that. You wouldn't know what BBS did that was neat if you haven't played it.
What they showed in that trailer was attacking and magic.
That's it, that's obviously not all there's going to be.
This is what I think they should do. Of course, uh, that might not be a good idea either. :lolBocoDragon said:...as a full length CG feature film![]()
It's really good. I was considering making an LTTP thread, but I decided against it since I finished the game, and my OP for it would probably be lengthy because I'd want to make room to discuss languages employed in the music and dialogue. If there's a making of video for the soundtrack, I'd like to see it. Thanks for the info with regards to the FAQ. I'm skimming through the intro and it seems interesting.Dunan said:Isn't AC2 great? It improved on AC1 in just about every area, and the glyph puzzles, and the hidden stuff in them, were like an entire hidden game. (If you haven't already, Google for Irvine Tomoe's FAQ on those puzzles; excellent commentary.)
Did Type-0's include structural assets and stuff? And yeah, I liked FFXII's structural work a lot; I probably stood and looked around for quite a while in that game. The way SE is going these days, they'll probably release a high-quality artbook after the game comes out, so hopefully it'll contain that kind of thing. Type-0's is great and really fills you in on the background (and that's one game that needs it). I wish they'd go back and make something like this for FFXII, sill (for me) SE's gold standard.

Meh, game looks like a Xanax-addled 13-year-old's IMVU fantasy anyway.
