This was no better than the Thors, the Iron Men, the Hulk movies, although to be fair they were all overrated as well. Only thing approaching character here is Ruffalo's bits, all the other stuff points towards a phoned in, spineless script where no one dared to spend this much money on something that's not proven to sell. Whedon does not show his face at all. There's seriously nothing here - just tame action, and I desperately wish to see some unique action choreography in a superhero movie soon.
When are people going to ask for more with superhero movies? For anything? For any sort of vision or direction?
I love fun, by the way. I don't mind it all being action and explosion. I just wish any of these movies had anything of their own, to separate them, to make me feel like I haven't watched it all (and like I couldn't predict every snarky one-liner).
