So...I got Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. Played about 10 minutes of it to see how the controls work and then attempted the Lantern Run. Alone.

This was my first attempt. A lack of firepower was my undoing. This pretty much confirms for me that the reason they can't get the achievement is because they are doing it with four people and getting in the way of each other.

Dude, they're doing it for TNT next week, apparently. :lol

Bizarre. That should be interesting to watch, although nothing particularly new as I'm pretty sure 50% of the videos on youtube are minecraft let's plays. They should just say eff it and play the PC version. At least then they can go look at cool stuff on other servers when they get bored after 45 minutes.

Well they're not very good at avoiding getting hit either. :P
I think it's mostly because they play for an hour and then not for another month when they've forgotten how to play again.

Of course they'd get into Minecraft finally now that it's out on Xbox 360.

I should have used "touchable" or something, you know what I mean :). MC on PC was always in a weird state of unfinished, beta, whatever - this get's out and they seem to check it out because of that.
Rubbish, Minecraft has had a stable release on PC forever and this 360 version is spun off of an earlier build, so newer updates aren't in... so if anything, it's more "unfinished" than the PC counterpart.

Oh, you mean it's more of a complete package?

Yeah, I suppose I can see that. Although the PC version is constantly evolving and it seems like that shouldn't be an issue for them.

Eh? I have not said anything like that, hence the "it always was". 1.0 was in the news, yes, but it would have helped to put it on Steam etc., to raise the attention of those who are not following it closely.

I think they (Jeff) always treated Minecraft as a thing and now it's being sold as a game.
But really, does it matter that much?

Looks like the Gamespot video player is now live on Giantbomb. Looks all right even if, personally, I never really had any problems with the old one. I know that a bunch of people had some issues.

The video quality at "720p" is definitely worse, but at least it streams without issue for me.
With the old player I couldn't stream things because my internet is too slow.
I'll still download every single video for the upgraded video quality and for archiving purposes.

I thought the quality of the HD stream was bad. But the new player has its own settings on the bottom right hand side. Mine was set to 360p. You can change it to what you want. 720p looks the same as usual.

Did you finish downloading the entire video before you skipped forward? For me, streaming behaves the same as progressive, where you can only skip as far forward as has been downloaded. Streaming and Progressive seem to link to the exact same feed. This'll be a pain for watching long videos like TNTs in chunks. I might as well start downloading all the videos.

Edit: Ghost in the QL thread found out it lets you skip if you set the resolution to auto.

Alex writes for tv.com? Had no idea. Good for him!
I agree that the new player is a downgrade so far from the old one. Not being able to skip forward before it's downloaded the entire video is going to be pretty irritating.
