I always figured the best way to introduce Pym to modern-day MCU (as opposed to 1950's/1970's Ant-Man that Wright is doing) is have him be a scientist who is allowed access to Wakanda, with him eventually acting as a liason between Wakanda and S.H.I.E.L.D./the Avengers.

I don't think that's how regeneration works

I saw this last night in IMAX 3D. I thought it was pretty good. Good for what it is...a fun, action-packed, silly movie with lots of eye candy. Without Robert Downy it wouldn't have been nearly as good, so I'm glad he was featured so prominently.

All the action was really well done, but there's no dramatic weight behind any of it because all these characters are basically invincible. There's never a question of whether they will survive. I prefer characters who are vulnerable (Indiana Jones, Ellen Ripley etc) to unstoppable super heroes. But then I always thought all super heroes except for Batman are kinda dumb.

I've never seen Thor or Captain America, but now I kind of want to just to see what their background stories are, since I know next to nothing about them.

Iron Man will remain the main draw for an individual film but I see all future films getting a boost becuase of this. OS numbers have been even more impressive considering it was never a strength for the IM films.

That's the way I see it. Thor 2 and Cap 2 should both get bumps. A Ruffalo Hulk movie would get a big bump.

CG has really come a long way. The Hulk was amazing and the iron man suit and all his effects continue to be probably the best CG I've seen in movies outside of Transformers

I was watching Iron Man 1 the other day, and yeah, the CG looks pretty dated at times. In The Avengers it looks perfect.

then again, I remember people thinking the scene with the tank would be a computer simulation based on the trailers of Iron Man 1.

The best part of new hulk is that he has some pudgy belly. Ripped Hulk looks off.

It boggled my mind how Hulk could be such an incredibly awful (and obvious) CGI in Ang Lee's snooze fest. The technology was already there back then for a more convincing CG character.

2008 Hulk looked fine for the most part, but it too was obviously DARK AND HARDCORE to make up for the Lee Hulk. Tried too hard.

Avengers Hulk really is the perfect balance.

Okay, so re-watching Spiderman 2...

Three "awkward moments".

- Peter's absolute ineptitutde.
- His complete lack of a friendship with Mary Jane and Harry
- Aunt May saying "YES YOU CAN. YOU CAN TAKE THIS MONEY".

Cringe all the way.

Lulz no.
No no no no.
But it does look like a pea green stay puft abortion.

Alright alright, a Video game from 7 years ago?

It looks terrible either way, I don't remember it being that bad, but I've only seen it once so there you go.

Quick question, does it look good in 3d?

I really don't know why anyone would want to watch any film in 3D, so I just default to 2D for everything, so... 2D is better!

I think that's my favourite part about the new Hulk. He looks human enough to be sympathetic, and enough like Ruffalo for the change to be believable.

Definitely. You can clearly see Ruffalo's features when he's fighting Thor in the helicarrier. (the scene where he's knocked back by his hammer. That scene took me aback a little, mainly because of how much he looked like Ruffalo.)

I never liked the Norton Hulk. Way too cut and sinewy for for me.

Yup. He looked too much a like a bodybuilder. Ang Lee's Hulk was slightly better in visualizing the Hulk, but TA Hulk is perfect. As Screen mentions above, they humanized him and managed to get hints of Ruffalo in there to nail the look.

Has the screen time breakdown been posted yet?

Hawkeye: 12:44
Thor: 25:52
Bruce Banner: 28:03
Black Widow: 33:35
Iron Man: 37:01
Captain America: 37:42

Cap has the most screen-time? Certainly didn't feel like he did, maybe because he does so little of note throughout the movie?

I dont remember Eric Bana Hulk looking like that. He looks so...weird. I remember liking that movie too.

They haven't picked the best pics for the other Hulks, I don't remember him looking like that either.

I still like him for the fact that he's just so ridiculously tall

Black Widow needs way more love. Personally speaking, she's just behind Tony & Banner as the best character in the film. Whedon really made her work.

I know this has probably been asekd like a hundred times in this thread, but why couldn't control Bruce the Hulk on the ship even though later he can ebcause he's angry all the time? Didn't get that at all.

Current iTunes Top 50 movie rentals:

19 Thor
21 The Incredible Hulk
25 Captain America
36 Iron Man
46 Iron Man 2

I wonder how many people are going into TIH thinking it's got the same Hulk as the one in TA? Those people are in for quite a shock. lol.

And IM below Cap and Thor? Hmph.

In Manhattan it was self induced, on the ship he was pushed into it.

AVENGERS FAQ (because we keep going in circles):

  • Why was Hulk not uncontrollable at the end?
Banner's second transformation into Hulk was voluntarily. It's been established, in the comics and in The Incredible Hulk, that a voluntary transformation makes Hulk more controllable and means he can distinguish between friend and foe. Banner's first transformation was involuntary, and thus Hulk was much more volatile.
  • How did Thor get back to Earth? Wasn't that rainbow bridge thingy destroyed?
Thor got back to Earth thanks to Odin using dark magic to teleport him there. Loki mentions this when Thor abducts him. It's implied that this is a very difficult process and a one way ticket - the tesseract is needed to teleport Thor and Loki back to Asgard.
  • What did Hulk say--
Hulk says "Puny god" after smashing Loki. I'm sorry the audience was too loud.
  • Who was that after the end credits?
    Thanos: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanos
  • What's shawarma?
    No idea.

Yea, I kinda dug how tall he was. TA Hulk is best though. I liked the Norton Hulk kinda though, it wasn't really "bad" to me, but TA Hulk nails it for me.

Btw, I loved it when he tried to pick up thor's hammer. The look on his face, haha.
