i also liked spiderman 2 way more than part 1. i remember leaving the theater thinking it was the best super hero movie ever.

Batman Begins > TDK.
TDK wasn't even a Batman movie in my opinion. Just a crime story that kind of got off the rails a few times. And that terrible last half or so just makes it completely below my expectations of what I wanted after I had watched BB.

BB is just so great compared to TDK.

That scene made me so sad... would have only marginally been improved without the Power Rangers helmet. And I really loved the movie. Alfred Molina was so much more compelling and watchable as a villain.

Actually, I'm pretty sure as soon as the deal went through, Universal had to start paying royalties to Disney for sales of, say, Captain America lunchboxes in the gift shop. One of the most bizarre licensing scenarios in history.

It's rough, but SM1 still packs way more emotional heft than any of the Marvel Studios films excluding Iron Man 1 --- SM2 even moreso.

Oh come on, even I can admit Spider-Man has more emotion at its core than Iron Man! He starts out cocky and basically just wanting to impress people with his powers, his uncle is killed after he misses the chance to paint with him while out superheroing, his best friend's father kills himself trying to murder him, he can't have the girl he loves... something about great power and responsibility comes to mind.

SM2 is still #2 in my book, and I agree, BB is better than TDK. I think Cap and Iron Man are right up there as well.

which doesnt change that if theyre fighting head up, just like cap would be cautious of clints arrows, steve would just as likely be cautious of his shield. Keeping on the move and aware of his surroundings will make it less likely for him to be attacked. It wont be so easy for cap to end it by just throwing his shield. Hes gonna have to put in work for it

Except that Tobey Maguire is so unlikable of a Spider-man that I relish all of those things happening to him.

I remember reading about this back when Disney purchased Marvel. Basically, all Marvel characters can be in Disneyland, but certain characters can't appear in Disney World.

Don’t expect Disney to buy out Universal’s Marvel rights soon

Don't expect the Walt Disney Co. to reacquire Universal Orlando's Marvel theme-park rights any time soon, according to an analyst with UBS Securities.

Michael Morris, who covers Disney for UBS, said this morning that he does not believe Disney will be able to buy out several high-profile licensing agreements that Marvel Entertainment Inc. has struck over the years. Disney announced Monday that it will buy the comic-book company for $4 billion.

Those licensing agreements include one giving Universal and its corporate parents exclusive use of Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, X-Men and the Fantastic Four in theme parks on the U.S. East Coast and Spider-Man for parks in Japan.

Universal has to pay fees to Marvel and Disney World and Disney land can put in characters, with exceptions, at their rides. Just means more exposure for the Marvel Brand which should be a win.

You seem to think clint is someone who can easily be defeated by a shield throw. He isnt as much of a pushover as you want him to be.
 
Wow, this was suprisingly great. Best Marvel Studios movie since Incredible Hulk. I was wary of it after their recent crap; IM2, Thor and Captain America. Godly fight scenes. Would watch a whole movie of the crazy battle. Only problem I had was the Whedonisms were over the top. Even the Hulk had delightfully clever banter.

Yup, this is easily Disney's biggest cash cow going forward. If they could get Spidey or Wolverine back, they'd be rolling in vast sums of cash previously unimagined.

Amonst street levels, possibly. But even then luke cages, danny rands and t'challas exists.

but thats beyond the point. Caps shield wont be a one hit ko to someone that is known to stay on the move. Im not saying clint would win in a toss up between the two, but will have to put in more effort to take him down than a shield throw.

Saw it tonight. Awesome. Friggin awesome. Hulk was the best. Banner's line "that's my secret, I'm always angry" then turns into The Hulk... I was like :O Can't wait for the sequel.

He knew that he had to put his style in check. Were there touches of Whedonisms and whatnot in there? Of course. But I thought it was extremely toned down. He realized that he had to stay true to the characters, as The Avengers were the stars. Not Joss Whedon.

As far as greatest superhero movies go I prefer the Batman films to Spiderman but Spiderman definitely has some really high moments, especially with the Goblin in the fisrt film. I still prefer Dark Knight to Batman Begins eventhough it is really fashionable for people to say they like Batman Begins better these days. Batman Begins reaches higher than Dark Knight in a few instances but has a shaky second half. Dark Knight is the second act of a trilogy, things are ramping up and then going down. I disagree with Whedon that Dark Knight isn't about Batman, I felt like I learned more about him in his response to the Joker.
