Is it wrong to hope that the Amazing Spider-man bombs to badly Sony lose the rights and it reverts back to Marvel.

No, but Sony is probably frothing at the mouth now after seeing Avengers $$$. How is Sony film division doing financially? I know the are sucking hard with TVs and the company as a whole is in some dire straights.

Just in case (Credits to Mr. Sam for version 1.0):

AVENGERS FAQ 2.0:

  • Why was Hulk not uncontrollable at the end?
Banner's second transformation into Hulk was voluntarily. It's been established, in the comics and in The Incredible Hulk, that a voluntary transformation makes Hulk more controllable and means he can distinguish between friend and foe. Banner's first transformation was involuntary, and thus Hulk was much more volatile.
  • How did Thor get back to Earth? Wasn't that rainbow bridge thingy destroyed?
Thor got back to Earth thanks to Odin using dark magic to teleport him there. Loki mentions this when Thor abducts him. It's implied that this is a very difficult process and a one way ticket - the tesseract is needed to teleport Thor and Loki back to Asgard.
  • What did Hulk say--
Hulk says "Puny god" after smashing Loki. I'm sorry the audience was too loud.
  • Who was that after the end credits?
    Thanos: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanos
  • What's shawarma?
No idea. If you stick around after the credits, all the Avengers went out to have some Shawarma.
  • Is agent Coulson dead?
    According to an interview, yes.
  • Where is Spiderman/X-men/Fantastic Four?
Sony/Fox own the movie rights so unless that changes they won't be showing up in any disney/marvel movie.
  • Why is Hulk unable to lift Mjolnir?
Directly from Marvel: "Worthiness Enchantment: This enchantment surrounding Mjolnir prevents it from being wielded by anyone save those who have been found worthy or anyone Thor deems acceptable to wield Mjolnir for a time".
  • What does "Mewling Quim" mean?
In more modern English, this would be “whining cunt”.(from bleedingcool.com)

My Sony devotion died a long time ago so yeah they need to lose the rights for Spider-man so he can be in a future avengers movie. I think Sony is losing money in a lot of their divisions.

Reed Richards and Ant-man are not as much fun as Parker, Stark and Banner.

Avengers 2 should just be Stark, Spider-Man, and Deadpool having a conversation for 2 and a half hours, and occasionally you see someone fighting Thanos through a window or something.

I read another article where Evans honestly admitted that his workout schedule for Captain America film was too much for him, it made him feel sick afterwards. They eventually had to tone it down, which is why that new body moneyshot was done first before any other scenes. And as you can see in Avengers, Evans' body is relatively smaller than his body in Captain America. I like that instead of boasting about his workout, he admitted that he just can't sustain the kind of workout required for that scene in Captain America required.

The problem is if (and it is a HUGE if) Spidey were to ever show up in the Marvel Studios movies, would he try and keep his identity secret like in the comics, or would he let it all hang out like after Civil War (but before Brand New Day)?

It would be awkward for everyone to be in civvies but Spidey to be in his tights while working in the lab. But it would also be funnier.

No Deadpool, yuck. Plus, I think Fox owns him because he was in Wolverine.

And Sony has Spider-Man. We're talking hypothetical here.

In all seriousness, though, even if they do get the rights to X-Men and Spider-Man back, I hope they don't merge them into the Avengers until Avengers 3. Give the other non-Spider-Man or X-Men Marvel characters their chance to shine.

So is there some kinda bomba clause for Sony and Spiderman that makes the rights vanish?

I don't think so. As far as I know, the only way Sony involuntarily loses the rights is if they don't make a movie for a certain number of years. I think it's five, but I'm not sure.

So what will it take for Marvel Studios to regain the rights to Spidey?

Is it just time? If so, how much?

edit: damn, bummer.

I just got back from the movie.

I had to profusely apologize to the people sitting in the row in front of me as I tore a hole in the front of my pants from busting so hard throughout thusly soaking them. That is all.

It's time but like... on a checkpoint system. It bumps the clock back and stops it from lapsing when they make a new movie and.... well, I heard something about one :P

Whatever that thing was in the Wolverine Origins movie wasn't Deadpool. It was a horrible rendition of the character.

Deadpool is a pretty cool character but what makes him so awesome is how he breaks the 4th wall. I don't think that would work well in a movie.

Since this thread hit 10,000 posts there needs to be a recap.

So basically what disney need to do is to send a superspy mole inside sony pictures and sabotage the shit out of any spidey flick in development so it got delayed and delayed until the time limit is up and marvel gain it back?
