I'm gonna see it again on thursday. Maybe again next week too since I have so many scene points left. I haven't had to pay for a movie since like 2006.

Telling ya, we need a buddy movie of the two of them working in a lab together with the occasional SMASH! Movie of the year right there.

Hey, tickets are expensive. That is the best part of in laws visiting: they pay for dinner out since they never see us.

1. I would watch that.

2. If it's on their dime I say why not?

So basically what disney need to do is to send a superspy mole inside sony pictures and sabotage the shit out of any spidey flick in development so it got delayed and delayed until the time limit is up and marvel gain it back?

Not sure about the Spidey contract, but I know with Fallout's MMO and Dick Tracey the contract could be upheld if the content creators could just show they were actively woking on it and keeping the IP valauble,.
If spidey was like that, the sabotaged movie would still count.

I think Realistically, Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer have the best chances of just being bought back or lapsing due to their bombiness, but I haven't checked if something was in production either. Just thinking out loud.
I mean, even if something was just worked out between the studios, FF could use the most help from an Avengers movie as opposed to XMen or Spider Man that don't need shit from Marvel at this point.

Also, Daredevil I guess...

Since this thread hit 10,000 posts there needs to be a recap.

Hell yeah top 10!

Also... Just realized I want to see this a third time. Shit. Would be the only time I'd paid three times for a movie in first-run theaters.

Anyone else enjoy the screen time that Stark and Banner shared? I liked their back and forth.

An actual good movie based upon the Coming of Galactus storyline would be godlike.

Of course, every Marvel fan knows that the best part of Marvel potentially getting FF movie rights back is we will get the Doctor Doom we deserve. And by that I mean the greatest comic book villain of all time.

Come at me, bros!

You know who would be a great Deadpool? David Cross. Obviously not the stunts. But you get the idea.

Oh, god. That voice...it is perfect.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?

Watched the 5 lead up movies in the proper order over the last two nights, and saw Avengers tonight. I had already seen Iron Man 1/2 and Hulk, but I didn't really get the importance of Tony's father and the other back stories so watching them in the intended order was fun.

I do think that the ending goes down as an all timer. Still behind the destruction of the Death Star. I was really impressed with the cinematography and cgi. Often times there is so much shit on the screen in an action movie it can be disorienting. Even with the insanity of the ending action, I never had that feeling.

I hope they have Mark Ruffalo on lockdown. His few scenes alone smashed the previous two Hulk movies. It was nice to see the green beast done justice.

I guess they won't be doing any hulk sequels, but yeah he is an awesome actor. Was there any reference to his scientist girlfriend in Avengers?

All the Gaffers with 100+ posts. Bob about to join elite company.

I'm only at 57. Time to step it up.

So... Does Sony own Spider Woman?
I kinda like Spider Woman.

They shouldn't. Her relation to Spider-Man is that they have similar names, and I can't think of any other franchises she'd be really close to.

Ruffalo was in Zodiac and Collateral, and now in The Avengers, portraying the best Bruce Banner to date. He's just become one of my favorite actors.

I keep telling GAF
Good actor, good script and good direction are all that matters. People always wring their hands about some actor "not looking right" or "not having the right chemistry" when really that completely ignores what acting IS.

Whoever in charge of picking actor/director for these marvel movies must be really good, I think overall we're pretty satisfied with all the casting decision they make, maybe except for re casting war machine, but other than that, all other character seems spot on.

it was hard to follow the action at only one point in the movie. it was when Thor was going against Loki and they were hitting each other/fist fighting near the end.

I just remember, there's a part during shooting where hiddleston simply told hemsworth to just punch him for real because whedon said the action is not convincing enough. Anywone know wich part is that? I think it's supposed to be a bodyblow.

You guys have read FILM CRIT HULK's anaylsis of why Ruffalo's Hulk is so great, right? The way they did him in Avengers, making him more like the show, really hit the right dichotomy audiences want. I think they can really nail a movie now that they have calm, not angsty Banner in the spotlight. Love me some Hulk, he really is a hero that deserves more cinematic moments.

He channeled Bill Bixby, that's for sure. I'm convinced it's the only way to play the character correctly.

Yep, that's the one. It went on for like 8 seconds and it was absolute, no hyperbole, gibberish. I looked at my friend after and was like "did you get ANY of that?"

Will make a great gif when the bluray hits.

So then it's pretty much a guaranteed thing that Deadpool in his movie will mention what a train wreck Origins: Wolverine was?

That's the kind of Deadpool I want.

I do recall reading details from the script that in the movie he looks at a Deadpool action figure from the X-Men Origins movie and starts crying.
I know the conversation has moved on because this thread is huge and moves so quickly, but I've read those bits of script and yes, there is a scene where Deadpool looks at an action figure of the Deadpool from Wolverine: Origins and looks at the camera and makes some smart ass comment about how much it sucks. :)

God I want them to get off their asses and make that movie so bad. The script was hilarious.

Edit:

INT. APARTMENT - DAY - PAST
CLOSE-UP of a Deadpool ACTION FIGURE from 'Wolverine Origins.' Mouth sewn shut. Blades implanted into the wrists. In the exact same POSE we just saw the real Deadpool.
WADE (0.S.)
A little piece of me curled up and died the day this came out.
We PULL OUT to reveal that Wade is referring NOT to the action figure, but to WHAMl'S 'Music From the Edge of Heaven' LP, which he is now holding.
He tosses the LP into a near-full TRASH CAN, right on TOP of the Deadpool action figure.

Yep. I know the scene and it makes me wince whenever these big theater blockbusters pull the camera in too tight to impart some chaos.

On that note, another scene that went by so damn quick, but when Iron Man and the Cap'n were on the ground going toe to toe against alien soldier dudes, did we catch a glimpse of Iron Man reflecting a zzorch beam off the Captain's shield and into the baddies like some video game co-op combo? I thought so but it was over before I could think.

Well to counter that, there was that absolutely badass single shot sequence panning from one Avengers to the next kicking ass.

Yep, and it's bad ass. I was looking for it the second time and Cap actually pans the shield so the beam takes out 3 guys.

Yea, at that point the movie was racking up money shots like it was going for a high score combo. Need to watch again to catch everything.

I was only able to actually follow that sequence on my third viewing. It's an extreme closeup, and unless you're looking at the right part of the screen you get completely lost.

Fuck the action was just mind blowing at the end. I need to see this again for sure. Is this way better in IMAX 3D compared to regular 3D?

They totally threw that Cap/IronMan combo out like it wasn't a big deal. Camera pans up to follow Hulk and you see Cap moving his shield in the bottom left corner of the screen.
