IT WAS ME, DOCTORWHO! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!

Where are these Cobie GIFs from, anyways? She never smiles in the movie.

EDIT: Man they will CRUSH $350M this weekend.

Disney has the best of the best in legal matters, they sure are checking those contracts to find the most tiny and imperceptible flaw in them.
It's very likely they have at least broached the subject with Sony and Fox about reacquiring the rights, but it's unlikely the inevitably steep price is worth it for Disney, given that they have blockbuster franchises without these characters anyway.

Marvel ain't getting Spidey back. Ever. Makes too much money for Sony.

However, a joint Marvel Studios/Sony production with Avengers and Spidey is not outside the realm of possibility (just outside the ream of probability).

I don't think Stark throwing out the term in a joking attempt to persuade Coulson to leave him alone is confirmation the technology actually exists in the MCU. The line was there to get a laugh out of the audience, nothing more.
Wrong. Feige hinted as much.

HE'S DEAD. DEAL WITH IT.
STOP SPREADING LIESSSS!!!!

Fistful is probably loading a shotgun somewhere as we speak.
:lol Miss that guy.

I would agree, but we don't know the specifics on whether or not the rights will even revert back to marvel, after 6 movies, say.

Joint Fox/Marvel/Sony production of New Avengers is my dream, assuming they could figure out the revenue split.

That's why I said it's likely outside the realm of probability. Three studios fighting over who gets what (because there is no way in hell they would agree to even splits)? Ugh.

Marvel will have Spider-Man back by 2020. Calling it.

If they reintroduce him again in another reboot movie I will be sad....hopefully they just say something like some kid just showed up the other day and let the audience figure it out....by now everyone knows Spidermans origin story

Post credits scene in Iron Man 4.

I want them to say fuck it and do Spider-Man Team Up films for the entirety of the 20s.

Whoever in charge of picking actor/director for these marvel movies must be really good, I think overall we're pretty satisfied with all the casting decision they make, maybe except for re casting war machine, but other than that, all other character seems spot on.

He was miscast both times. Should've been Taye Diggs.

They can easily just say the events of Amazing Spider-Man are before Avengers 1 occurred. So timeline fudging basically, it could happen.. if Sony'd allow it. I wouldn't want a recast/costume redesign etc.

Well, here is a way around the Spider Man issue.

Use Ben Reilly and use Scarlet Spider or they can use Miles Morales from the Ultimate universe. I am partial to Ben Reilly myself.

It's from the tumblr. They seem to have tons of behind the scenes footage and shots from who knows where.

That's pretty badass if you consider Hawkeye's quiver being able to change out the arrowheads to whatever he needs.

...And yep, I wasted like two hours last night on tumblr looking for gifs and BTS pics. Ridonk...

jesus, this.

what are the chances of panther in the next film?
Slim, I think. It's on their list of course, but the only thing with actual developments and progress that seems tangible is Ant-Man, I think. Who knows what's happening behind-the-screnes, though.

People would revolt in a major way.
To the common person, Peter Parker = Spider Man.
Period.

also, how did black widow get loki to reveal he intends to use the hulk to get him out? i missed what he said that led her to tell nick fury about his hulk plan.

for some reason it sounded like a huge revelation but the avengers were talking about loki using them against eachother way before that conversation.

ah okay. does ant man even have enough appeal to sell tickets? i like ant man and wasp but they will probably need some cameos to get people to see the film

maybe they can feature something vibranium related in iron man 3, which can be a good way to get panther in. does tony have a vibranium armor in the comics?

Great write up on why the Avengers works:

Some reviewers have panned the movie, however, saying too many stars and too many superheroes bog the film down. But this is wrong-headed. It’s the very fact that so many heroes band together – and clash against one another – that gives this is movie its charm.

“Marvel’s The Avengers is the best comic book movie yet,” writes Ethan Gach at The League of Ordinary Gentlemen. “The story is useless but the narrative barrels forward over plots holes and motivational voids with reassuring gusto. Instead, it’s the unlikely charisma of the superhero ensemble that forces the project to succeed despite itself. Like the self-perpetuating, unlimited energy source at the story’s Swiss cheese center, the Avengers propel themselves forward on an attractive primal blend of superpower, comic genius, and force of will.”

The Avengers is a much smarter, more interesting film than many of its peers, and it manages this without going to the dark side . As Alyssa notes, it’s largely a film about superheroes who will stand up not just to the bad guys, but to the worst impulses of our own government. It’s everything that Captain America wasn’t: a smart, subtle, and funny critique of the bad things that good people, and ostensibly good governments, are willing to do in the name of security.

This, and Whedon’s engaging dialogue, are what really made this film tick. If the heroes had simply joined up and fought happily alongside one another, who would have cared? But the wayward Avengers clash, and they don’t stop at words. Whatever friendship is built upon the back of crisis at the end of the film is tenuous at best. There’s room for these friendships to be challenged again in future films.
