Something about buying digitally bothers me so I'm not sure.

I may do both for very few select titles as stupid and a waste of money as that seems.

As of now, I'll probably still get the physical copies at the stores.

I love buying $50-60 games a year late for $20, I'll probably keep that up.

Except for the oh god first party releases.

Random question: Assuming we can digitally download every game for Wii U, are you going to go digital when Wii U drops? Still gonna keep collecting boxes? Are you a sick freak and plan on picking up both the physical release and digital release?

Physical all the way, unless its a digital ONLY release, why rent games when you can buy them.

Pokemon stadium isnt so popular.

I thought Pokemon Stadium/2 sold well?

They dropped the ball with the spiritual sequels on Gamecube and Wii. A new gen 5 Pokemon Stadium would be awesome.

Of course, a special peripheral would be included with every game that allows you to connect your DS games to Wii U and play them at 4x speed via Dodrio DS Tower.

Mods have inside sources confirming that Wii U < 360 confirmed?
Oh you.
Last year I had a ban come up like 6 hours before the Nintendo press conference. I always wanted to find out which mod that was so I could thank them lol.
Would drive me crazy. D:

Exactly what I posted in it. I even said that 25% wanting something we know nothing about seems actually kind of high.
Seriously. These surveys are always so silly.

Geezer, guys. Simmer down. Stop getting banned so close to E3.
;_;

Not directly related to the Wii U but- do you guys think that Nintendo will announce some more Nintendo Selects at E3? It would benefit Nintendo since Wii U buyers (like me) might still want to get old Wii games.

It feels like E3 is further away than ever now.

To me, it feels like it's only a week away :D

At least IdeaMan won't get banned.

People here have run him over with their car and backed up over him and he limped out, hugged them and moved on.

Well, i answered to the few who jumped to personal attacks though, and pointed them to their sins/wrong statements and very unfriendly/harsh and totally not suited for this thread behavior :p

But it's better to react that way, try to be zen, than engaging in a sterile quoting war and polluting the thread, my community management me talking.

I dunno it can be fun to say "Unleash the Kraken!"

That would be an awesome list. I also agree that Smash, and Wii U Zelda won't be at E3 this year. The only thing I see no chance of is KH3, I don't think it will be out period, on any console for a long time. I also would be surprised if KH3 didn't appear on a Sony platform.

But, well, it's specific teasing. It'd be great if you teased like that.

Literally saying stuff like "how many gigs of RAM? Eh, not 2 many..." or "as far as whether the screen is multitouch, never underestimate Nintendo's capacity to surprise us."

Hey, cut me some slack, my teases are sometimes specific :p
and they are just announcing the always following real message !

Everyone loves buying dvd's or blurays with extras. rather than just having dlc why not have extras in they form ofdirectors commentaries just like what they do in the valve games whete you can unlock them as achievements but what would be more specific to the wii u and the tablet in particular is that you can view various overlays and videos in real time about what the game developers vision of the game and their process while you play the game.

imagine a real time iwata asks while you are playing the enxt iteration of mario where members of the development team take turns in walking you through parts of the game. while the tablet shows you different scenes or alternate textures.or things in video form that did not make it in the final cut.

I am interested in these value added propositions as it add longevity to a game to warrant a second or third playthrough and to maybe introduce you to secrets or game mehanics you may have missed during the first playthrough. The idea of The WiiU subscreen having to set itself apart somehow with gaming on ta lablets and handhelds is vital to the sucess of the platform and there should be more ideas put forth in the coming weeks.

One aspect of being different to gaming on other seemingly similar devices is assymetrical local multiplayer as well as online team based multiplayer. I think what you will find is that nintendo's focus with social and online and local.multiplayer will be combined with many of their titles bein local co-op and also have the option of assymetrical gameplay. Games where one person is driving and other people are shooting out of the vehicle in a squad based co-op shooter in campaign mode will also lend itself flawlessly in local multiplayer as well as local co-op mode. This is something no other device can do and gives players as sense of team tactics and allow for some real objectice based gameplay.

Combined with extras such as directors commentaries or even a director mode where you can create your own cinematic replays for upload so people can watch you play or even provode training for other players in the form of streamed tutorials will really bring a true social aspect to online single player campaign gaming as well as already boosting the multiplayer aspect. Games like Kid Icarus are just some new ip's where nintendo might take this new avenueas well as their old frnachises already very well suited to this idea.

What are some other ways the tablet controller can separate itself from the likes of iPad android and more directly 3DS?

I feel kinda bad for Guek because he isn't familiar with Heavy lol. We once had a long debate on wrasslegaf as to whether or not he was a very subtle troll or is totally genuine about his sometimes weird way of posting/arguing/etc.

Turns out he is pretty genuine. He is innocent.
For the record, I'm sorry he got banned (really). It wasn't my intention at all to "bait" him... was just having a regular back & forth discussion we've had a hundred times before. I hope he's back in time for E3 at least.

Heavy has a crush on me and it's really weird.

He'll bring me up in threads that I have no involvement in and no one is talking about me at all.
I think I've done this two times ever. One was a joke about throwing a party in an MC thread a few weeks ago (not just about you, either). The other was in this thread about the rumors you posted and if they were true, which was 100% on-topic.

If you feel the need to, my post history should be easy to search through for other stalker references as I haven't been able to post much lately.

I think I agree with all of this more or less

Not to mention picking up a Japanese Wii U/3DS and not having to go through Play-Asia/super expensive import shop/getting Pokemon 6 months before North America is going to be sweet.

If you're going to go for DD stuff, make sure you properly configure your router to VPN to a proxy server in Japan, or you're probably pretty fucked.

I mean, you know, I wouldn't assume that Nintendo would be so ignorant of technology as to not know how to keep their regions locked for networked downloads.

I'm actually expecting a new 3D Mario at E3. Who's with me?

I'm expecting a 3D Mario on store shelves in the fall of 2013, so Nintendo can get some attention when the other consoles hit. So if the game will be out next year, it's possible it will be shown at E3 this year, unless they want to do a E3 2013 reveal, follwed by a quick release.

what happened to that controller stuff you had, did you say it already and I missed it?

not said yet

DVD-like extra on the padlet while playing

I like that idea.

For the asymmetrical setting and what it could spur in terms of gamedesign, yeah, there have been a lot of suggestions threw here and there in those speculation thread, basically, well used, it will be refreshing, and we'll literally have the opportunity to experience a content in two different ways with this.

Damn. I leave from work for my long weekend to see guek gone kaput while I'm commuting?

Guys, the safest way to proceed is to not engage. Ignore. Don't even mention that you're ignoring.

Dammit!

Ever see the movie "War Games"? It teaches a valuable lesson:
wargames-quote-not-to-play.jpg

(To be honest, I'm more likely to melt down over losing some of y'all more than I would over Nintendo screwing something up. Please please please be careful. These folks aren't friggin' worth it. Dindammit..)

And BY2K, I never told you, but it's damn good to have you back. Your list looks very realistic.

it depends on the game for me. I'll gladdly buy a game like animal crossing digitally, but a game like Zelda or a Monolith game, I think I'd rather buy. I don't really have a criteria though, just what I feel.

I agree. Especially after this generation. I have so many games, so many games I don't even want in my collection anymore, only a handful of games I want to keep. Selling them at this point would be almost pointless.

I'm going to give some away to my younger cousins or something.

Heh, I'm not sure if this comes from the over-dramatic Ideaman or the still-learning-English Ideaman.

I'm guessing (hoping) it's the latter. :p

Either way, he's much appreciated, as he's brought some great entertainment and conversation and thought-provocation over the months, as have many of you guys and gals. :)

I think your 3DS list is pretty thin. Only one new game? E3 2006 is about the same time after the DS launch and we got some pretty huge announcements.

I think there will be at least 2 huge games revealed with maybe another sports title or something along those lines.
