There's some funny behind the scenes stuff to go with that. Thanos creator Jim Starlin was upset at the character being defeated in certain ways so he created that out to excuse the losses.

So, when he was defeated by Squirrel Girl, they threw in this jab....

Hah, that's a great little dig.

Ya, I exclusively read DC stuff right now, which is the opposite of 4 years ago. Something about the X-Men is putting me off. (I've tried Wolverine and the X-Men)
Should read Uncanny X-Force if you want to avoid the wackiness thats sprouted out of Cyclops and Wolverines ongoing feud. Easily the best X book in years.
Agreed. UXF is so damn good. I honestly can say that Wolverine was never my favorite X-Man - hell, I could barely tolerate the guy - but UXF made me appreciate the character a hell of a lot, same with the others on the team. Plus, Fantomex is just cool - add in Deadpool and you've got awesome. Besides, there's nothing darker than reading about a hit squad really.

UXF & WATXM are so good together. I usually only read complete Marvel stories but these two are super compelling and fun.

brilliant. Starlin is the man.

Why, on the box, does the tagline for Patriot read "be angry" and the one for Smash read "your attack plan"? What madness is this?

Probably just trolling anyone willing to purchase this. I'm sure the conversation between diehard fanboys analyzing what's on the box of a cologne set would be amazing.

Finally found these awesome pages featuring Cap and T'Challa...along with an awesome 1-page flashback to when Cap met T'Challa's father (or is it grandfather?)

Reading "Ultimates 1" and the Cap in that comic is awesome. Immediately cooler than movie Cap.

Movie Cap is like a 15 year old boy scout with muscles.
Comic Cap is like a perfectly trained super marine.

...confirming that Movie Cap sucks!

...

Edit: All you folks that keep thinking that Thanos was someone else are crazy. I haven't followed comics ever, but collected the cards...and immediately it was obvious that it was Thanos. I didn't know what that meant or what he could do, but I knew that it was Thanos.
No. Movie Cap, just like 616 Cap, is exactly what Captain America, or Superman for that matter, should be.

But, how did she do it?

Squirrel Girl's superpower is, canonically, winning. She beat Dr. Doom. Then she beat Thanos. And she missed Civil War because she was fighting Galactus.

So, that one panel is the beginning and end of the whole battle, so to speak?

Squirrel-Girl was pretty much made to troll ultra-hardcore comic fans. When she beat Dr. Doom and people got mad, they did the above scene. Later, they had her beat Thanos, the Big Bad, the best Marvel villain, off-panel.

Of course, she's never included in big crossover events.

Yep, don't know why people aren't satisfied with Movie Cap's portrayal - he's exactly as he should be.

Same reason people dislike Superman. They just haven't really explored that sometimes, a completely idealistic character like them can work as the one character everyone looks up to. We have enough Avengers to be flawed, imperfect people, but both Cap and Supes should precisely represent what every man should try to be.

"No, you move" Cap and "Do you think the A in my forehead stands for France" Cap are completely different characters.

Mark Ruffalo actually says the line "Puny god".

Q: What is the Hulk's big line in the film?
A: The Hulk's comical pummeling of Norse demigod Loki is such an effective scene that audiences are often laughing too hard to hear the superhero's lone utterance.
"People still ask me what I'm saying there," says Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk with the help of motion-capture technology. "It's the only Hulk line in the movie. It's 'Puny god.' ''
Director Joss Whedon says he wanted to have the Hulk speak "sparingly" during the movie for impact. That's why there are many more grunts and roars.

Q: Who is the Hulk's voice?
A: Though he's not listed in the credits, Lou Ferrigno, who starred in The Incredible Hulk TV series (1978-1982), contributed voice work for the movie. But when asked about it at a European news conference, Whedon insisted the speaking line belongs to Ruffalo.
"We had him smoke a lot and drink some whiskey," Whedon joked. Actually, Ruffalo's voice was processed through computers at Skywalker Sound.
Chris Boyes, a supervising sound editor at Skywalker, says Ferrigno "was a big player in the roar." But the Hulk's various grunts and rage-filled roars were a group effort: About 12% came from animals ("some bear and lion underneath") and the rest came from Ruffalo, Ferrigno and other humans, including Boyes.

I think people have problems with what Cap actually does action wise in the movie, and not how he is characterized?

I like how is presented. I think he didn't do alot though, pulling levers for stark and whatnot.

I wish they could had somehow made made Evans look older through CG, haha.

What is Hollywood's obsession with always showing actors faces? Why would Ironman be in the middle of a fight WITH HIS HELMET OFF?!

I see that I've already been beaten, but that at least fits in with Tony's cocky ass attitude. Spider-Man is an insecure little wuss, so he would never take his mask off, yet he basically rolls through half the movies without it. "Secret identity?" Bitch, we have cameras and YouTube.

I didn't mind so much seeing Captain America without his helmet, partially because the costume looked a lot better without it, but I know what you mean. It's really annoying that in every Spider-Man movie he loses his mask, and it kind of loses it's impact after a while
