The "medical team" that called it was working for The Hand. They are going to revive him as the baddy in Iron Man 3.

We never did see the medical team call it actually. Fury told us they called it and we did know he fudged some of the details of his death. Still think it's pretty much a coin flip whether he'll return or not.

It's the worst thing about both characters and was only done so Marvel could get done cheap pr from putting two of comic's most popular black characters together. Shit is dumb.

I guess im pretty apathetic about their marriage but that being the downfall of the characters...no. BP's series got cancelled along with other good books, happens more often than not, i think i can count the panels storm was present in that series so i cant see the logic of blaming her or the marriage. The series was really well done, it just didnt take, neither did X-23 which was well done, or Daken which was also very good (liked it better in madripoor than LA though). Every day i check the solicits for upcoming titles i hold my breath hoping to see Xfactor and thunderbolts there because they arent very big numbers wise but are 2 of the best books marvel puts out. They too could be cancelled.

I understand you dont like that they got married, but that being the downfall of a great series, or even ruining the series ...no she was barely in the series. You have objections to how marvel joined the two but them being joined had...no bearing on BP's latest ongoing. I do think the Spider Island and Fear Itself tie ins were crap compared to the regular story archs though. The .1 was uneeded considering T'challa reveals a lot about himself in the first few issues of the series, and it was a new stage in his life so why go back with a .1, but it was far from the worst .1 .

I wouldnt be suprised if they "vision" him

2. RE: Coulson fanboys in denial over his death. I caught a dialogue exchange I missed the first time. After Coulson dies, Fury speaks to Hill over his walkie. After that convo, he gets another call informing him that "medical is on the way". To which Fury replies "they're already here. They called it". Boom, deadshot.
I'm pretty sure he said that because medical was indeed already there. At least I remember some guy kneeing in front of Coulson.

My second theatrical viewing had subtitles for the hard of hearing. I both heard and read "that man."

Furthermore, I'm in the "Coulson is dead" camp but I don't see how Nick 'I'm a manipulative sociopath' Fury saying, "Oh, the medical team's here and Coulson is, like, sooo dead. I'd be pretty angry if I were you guys. So angry that I'd go and beat up Loki!" proves anything.

The real medical never got there, the medical that checked out Coulson was the Kree medical team beaming him back to space and replacing him with a clone!!!!

In that regard Fury's line of having lost his one good eye referring to Coulson gives some credence to that theory, along with why he could effortlessly bypass Stark's security. It's one of the more out there theories for sure but as I mentioned before I think it's highly suspect that they just introduced the character in two different mediums around the time they kill him off in the movie. Besides, we still haven't had had a ressurection in these movies so far and it just might be one of the comic medium's biggest cliches :p

My money is on RDJ mumbling like he usually does. There is no universe in which him saying "Batman" in that context would ever happen.

Maybe, but I heard 'Batman' first time I was in cinemas too and my brain registered severe universe confusion for a minute or so afterwards.

Ohhh no. I'm not saying she was responsible for ruining the series. I'll even admit to liking those two issues (mainly cause of Kraven). I was just making a joke about how the book wasn't as good and was canceled after her appearance, making her a "herald" for the bad stuff. :p (The series did end on a high note, I will say)

Their marriage just does nothing for them as characters and feels totally unneeded. I still love Storm and Panther with all my geeky heart. Just keep them far away from each other.

Edit: Coulson will return as a ghost sidekick for Cap. Book it.

....that makes no sense they are out classed by loki...in the comics 95% of all heroes are , he's a monster, but the foot soldiers/chitari they arent out of their league so they are of use. Not to mention Hawkeye is as useful as his gear, so his arrowheads can be configured/modified for a situation. Same goes for BW shes trained in a plethora of weapons, all of a sudden explosive rounds and thermal charges like hawkeye deployed are more than useful. I could see a point IF all they did was hand to hand combat but they are trained in weapons , explosives, infiltration, recon and vehicles. Its not like the alien invaders were the celestials, or the shi'ar imperial guard.

I will never get this argument the avengers takes everyone for different needs. I could see if the Destroyer showed up with one thing in mind, crush EVERYTHING ok then its a problem only Thor , Ironman, and Hulk could contend with. But a full scale incursion of soldiers that are flesh and bone???

I don't suppose being outnumbered 100-1 means anything. Eh, whatever.

Thread needs more funny pictures.

I thought he said Bat Man too. I took it as a funny joke for the audience, while implying that in the MCU Batman is a fictional comic book hero. Connected soe dots I'll admit, but the alternative is "that man" which isn't even a thing IMO.

"That man" isn't a thing except for a coherent sentence, haha. Why would he be calling a random guy Batman? Come on people. I mean, really. Come on.

Seriously. Come on.

And Coulson is dead, unless they decide he's not dead. Not much use in speculating about it.

Saw the movie for a second time today at a matinee. Small crowd. No crying babies, no cellphones lighting up. I love weekday matinees. Saw it in 3-D this time. The outer space scene were good for 3-D as well as the final battle, but the time in the Shield helicarrier was fairly muted for 3-D. Still though, n ghosting and the aliens flying around had a good 3-D effect on them.

When Cap orders Hulk to "Smash" I can swear I hear Hulk roaring out the word "SMAAASH!" But maybe I'm hearing things.

He walks in, points and says "that man is playing Galaga." A few mins later they cut back to "that man" playing Galaga. Makes sense to me more than him saying Batman.

I heard it loud and clear as "that man".

Maybe your theatres had weak speakers or loud audiences. :S

Yeah, I heard that too.

I'm pretty sure the joke was that someone was playing games at work, not "hurr hurr we said Batman", because really that doesn't even make sense.

Ultron can be the Jarvis AI turned evil. I can deal with that whole "father" business switching from Pym to Tony.
I'll flip my shit if this ever happens. Tony has enough focus on him already, and with a Pym movie coming he better be the father of Ultron if that ever comes to fruition.

Doesn't mean jack shit. In fact, if anything, that'd only give rise to more speculation as far as I can tell...

Ultimate Tony made one for Black Widow when he was banging her.

Not to spoil anything for those stiller reading Ultimates 2, but..... boy did that end horribly.

Anyone in hear play Marvel Ultimate Alliance on PS3? I picked it up tonight for $30.

Game is fun and not too complicated, and the online co op is pretty cool so far. Would have been great on PC for the full effect, but I'm sure another game like it is in the works.

my psn is Jtrizzy if anyone ever feels like playing let me know.

Just shy of Dark Knight as my favorite superhero flick.

The only thing that really annoyed me is that the lame, annoying guy who nobody liked was the catalyst that made them Avengers. It should have been a bigger character.

I have to say, I was really worried (as I'm sure other were) that Clint and Natasha would look ridiculously outclassed in the big fight, but I was really happy and stoked to see them hold their own. If I had to complain, I only wished we could have seen a little more variety of arrows from Hawkeye and maybe some more tricks/equipment from Black Widow. Minor gripe though.

Speaking of the trailer, the one line that made me cringe was Banner's "time bomb" line. Really glad that wasn't in the final cut.

Also, all this talk about armoring the characters reminds me of that awful Avengers cartoon from the late 90s

All the characters had flashy "armor transformation" sequences. Even Wanda.

That line did make the cut.

Oh yeah I believe you're right. I think they just edited it so it didn't sound quite as cheesy as it did in the trailer. My bad.

I noticed that some lines from the trailer sounded a bit different from the final cut of the movie. The "Genius Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist" line delivery that Tony gave to Cap was one of them.

They didn't really edit it, not as much as the 'billionaire playboy philanthropist' line, it just sounded fine with the right context..

Incorrect- I'm paraphrasing, but it's now like:
"What are we, a team? No, no, we're a chemical combination that makes chaos. We're a time bomb."

No one has pointed out that Stark really believed in Banner.

Thought I did at one point in the thread. I liked that. Tony was the only one that believed in Banner it seems, and also knew that having a Hulk meant much smashing of the bad guys.

Telling ya, we need a bromance movie with Banner and Stark. Day one!

If only we could have a movie with Coulson and Cap working together.
