When watching the movie I thought they could have compiled all the ...'Series 2' tech (what was it called?) into an android that would be Vision.

Fuck.. Coulson : (
It only works because they had a good, fairly simple character they used a few times that was good, not over the top and you gave a shit about him. I thought he was a good small character in Iron Man but Peper's "Phil!" sealed it.

His name was Phil Coulson : (

Is there an avatar of Loki of this type?

Son of Coul didn't take shit from anyone. Didn't put up with Stark's shit, but also knew not to mess with Thor.

I shall miss Coulson.
I just rewatched Iron Man 2, which I thought was only ok. However Phil's line that he would Taze Tony and let him drool while watching Super Nanny was still damned funny.
Fuck, now I miss him more. They funneled some great humor into him for this movie. Blasting Loki through a wall got the biggest laugh next to the hulk rag-dolling that horned bitch.

I'm watching Thor right now, and I don't think I could see anyone else play him better than Hemsworth.

That said, Hemsworth definitely looks bigger in The Avengers. Chubby, at some parts even. He might need to slim down a little for Thor 2.

It's the Riddick thread all over again!

Nah. That is just your chubby clouding your view. Hemsworth makes all the men get chubbies. I am a married, straight male; and I have no problem saying that if Hemsworth would have me, I would let him.

The guy seriously does have the physique of a god, pun intended.

As they said in Muscle and Fitness mag about his workout: "He simply chose to look like Thor."

Not only does he have the physique that makes most men cry at their own inadequacies and make the women wet, he has charisma to burn.

:/

If that's chubby, how about the rest of us mere mortal?

Could I get a link to that? I would love to see his routine.

Watch it, Loki, or do you want the hammer again!?

I'm not married, but I'm straight too. I rolled my eyes when I saw Thor shirtless. I almost stopped watching the movie to appreciate his body.

Amazing movie...not only the characterization of all characters where spot-on, the did basically all scenarios I wanted: Thor hammer vs Cpt Shield, Thor vs Hulk, Hulk vs Loki (lol). And seeing Thanos being in the alleged sequel is just icing in the cake.
BTW going through the thread I realized both Jett AND Solo loved it as well....that's unexpected.

Probably going to watch again in 2D soon, hated the 3D glasses, it just made the movie darker.

Thank you! I totally forgot she was Robin, her face was familiar but I couldn't put my finger on...

I should also add that I don't think I could see anyone else play Odin. Anthony Hopkins fit that role like a glove.

Same with Loki.

Phil, Agent of C.O.U.L.S.O.N

Also, good call to have him die during his line an not actually say they need something to AVENGE . It would have seemed odd.

The casting in all these Marvel movies has been pretty damn fantastic. Even when it seemed weird, like Idris Elba as Heimdall, or Johnny Storm as Captain America, or a relative unknown as Thor. They've somehow managed to just nail it every time.

I agree. From the current The Avengers cast, I wouldn't want anyone to be replaced, although I didn't care much for Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

Yes. They've nailed every character so far, from the main ones to the villians to the very minor ones. Everyone of them is spot on.

I actually really wasn't a fan of Don Cheadle as War Machine, but the leads are all great.

Yeah, Don Cheadle wasn't a very good Rhodey. That's probably the biggest weakness in the casting of any of these movies. But they nailed it the first time with Terrence Howard.

I was worried most about Captain America, but he pulled it off. I just thought of chris evans as a teenage heartthrob but hes really grown up and it feels like he can be a leader

Saw the movie twice, but haven't really been following it's development or anything, has Whedon mentioned anything about new heroes in the next Avengers? I don't really think it's necessary, this current group has fantastic chemistry and could go a long ways imo.

Not only that, but one can argue the success of that one choice led to the doors being blown wide open for these Marvel movies.
Undoubtedly. Iron Man's success is what made all this possible, and RDJ is what made Iron Man's success possible in the first place. I dread the day when he'll get recast.

Thought I did at one point in the thread. I liked that. Tony was the only one that believed in Banner it seems, and also knew that having a Hulk meant much smashing of the bad guys.

Telling ya, we need a bromance movie with Banner and Stark. Day one!

You mean Avengers 2? Whedon will be all over that.

Yeah, I watched Iron Man again the other day. Howard he fit the role quite well and seemed to have good chemistry with RDJ. Was it really money stuff that led to Cheadle getting cast? I can't imagine he'd be cheaper.

Whedon is barely talking at this point, I think he's just tired and taking a break. Feige on the other hand, has hinted at a bunch of stuff. See the MCU thread for those developments.

Probably only one or two new faces for the sequel, who'll most likely be Ant-Man (either Pym or Lang) and possibly Wasp.

Pym + Banner + Stark love triangle? :o
