I think a Avengers: Black Ops movie would do exceptionally well. You really can't underestimate the power of Scarlett Johannson in skin tight leather outfits doing flips with guns and shit.

Hawkeye needs more fleshing out methinks. He has the least screen time of any members of the team, and he spends the majority of it as Loki's brainwashed lackey. Granted, he does a ton of cool stuff, but we don't have as much time to get to know him.

Hence, why "Black Widow and Hawkeye: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" should be coming to theaters near you/me/us!

Black Widow was pretty badass. She did a lot more than anybody else could have if you took away their super strengthness.

Shes got many skills /Xena

I thought she was actually better this time around than in IM2. After reading her little blurb in the Art of the Avengers, she was training with the guys to be able to pull off her fight scenes and really wanted to show off. I applaud her for wanting to do so, I thought she did great really.

Yeah, BW/Scarlet was dreadful in IM2, but great in Avengers. So I'll just chalk that up to IM2 being shit.

Sure! Whatever gets ScarJo more Black Widow time!

Haha, the cool thing about Black Widow is she's popped up in so many places in both hero and villain sides that she's pretty much adaptable to any plot (besides Asgard or overly mystical stuff I guess). But Secret Avengers would be a good road to go down, seeing as the MCU has already got Cap, Black Widow, Hawkeye and War Machine.

If they wanted to, couldnt Disney pay Sony royalties so they can use Spiderman in the next Avengers movie? Because having my favorite superhero in Avengers 2 would make me the happiest person to have ever lived.

I could actually see how this story may have started using Cap. America's point of view. He was introduced first (not counting Hawkeye and Black Widow). He clashes with Stark immediately and they amount to the first team to fight Loki. Cap breaks up the fight between Tony and Thor (and Thor would have murdered Tony if it went much longer). Banner is brought in, but the movie uses Tony to begin dialogue with Banner (because they're both scientists), but Cap works in parallel with those two (although on his own) to discover SHIELD's real interest in the tesseract. Then he cooperates with Tony to save the helicarrier.

Then the team is separated and Cap puts it on himself (and Hawkeye and BW) to go save the world without those guys. Then the portal is ripped open and Cap is the first to organize a real on the ground response, then gives direction to all the rest of the heroes when they finally arrive in order to maintain the damage and give themselves a chance to close the portal.

All the while Tony, Hulk and Thor are basically motivated by more personal things and jump in and out of the fray on their own whims.

What I remember most about the movie is Cap being exhausted to the point of passing out in nearly all action scenes. He's clearly outmatched in all encounters, yet he soldiers own - completely unafraid to die in pursuit of the greater cause. And as ambiguous it may be to most (evidenced by how often Thor, Tony and Bruce question the motivations of all involved), for him the reason is clear: defend the country, and defend the lives that live within it, at all costs.

This was Cap's story. But he provided the steady, determined, against-all-odds drive to defeat the villain(s), allowing the rest of the heroes to step in and explode on screen when absolutely needed.

This detracts somewhat from Tony's role. From a different (and valid) point of view, this was Iron-Man's movie. He has the most growth of all the characters. The next story driver was Nick Fury of course, but none of the other protagonists really trusted him - as courageous as he was, for just a regular human, he was more of a manipulator or puppeteer - like a kind of Loki but with good intentions. And when the huge threat finally materialized (alien invasion) he had to step back and let the superheroes take center stage.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

http://entertainment.msnbc.msn.com/...vengers-joke-cruel-to-adoption-community?lite

Disney’s “The Avengers” has earned almost universally positive reviews and made $200 million in its first weekend. Yet for some in the adoption community, a joke in the film goes too far.

The joke is at the expense of Loki, the film's villain and adopted son of the god, Odin. Loki's brother Thor defends him to fellow Avenger Black Widow, who then points out that Loki’s “killed 80 people in two days.” Thor then replies, “he’s adopted.”

As noted in a petition created by Jamie Berke on Change.org, “According to your scriptwriter, the fact (Loki) was adopted is the reason he is a bad guy!...Being adopted is not something to use for the butt of jokes! Marvel, immediately cease using adoption as the butt of jokes AND issue a public apology to the adoption community!”

Berke points out that she is not asking for a boycott of the film, though others have suggested it. Instead, she is requesting an apology.

In an interview with MovieFanatic, actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, admits he didn't get the joke at first.

"The line where I say, “He’s adopted.” I had no idea that would be funny," Hemsworth told the site. "When we shot that, I went, “Is this really funny?” But, that’s the thing. Joss is hilarious. The whole film, I was surprised how the comedy in it played so well."

But did the joke go too far? Chuck Johnson, president and CEO of the National Council for Adoption, says it's not clear-cut.

"I understand both sides. I think we do need to have a sense of humor about these things, but at the same time there are jokes that can hurt feelings,” Johnson told msnbc.com. “People who make movies are trying to be funny and I don’t think they realize how it will be perceived.”

Johnson, who is father to an adopted son, observes that adoption has been a recurring trend in comic book tales -- Superman, for one, was adopted -- and perhaps the line should be analyzed in a larger context.

“The adoption element is brought in a lot, it’s become a common theme in comic books and fantasy, and it’s usually portrayed very well,” he says. “The only problem I would have is that (the joke) feeds into the stereotype that adopted children have a pathos that turns them bad or hurts people. In that sense, I don’t like the joke, but I would use it as an opportunity to talk to children about stereotypes.”

Matthew Rodriguez, a writer for the Sundance Channel and an "Avengers" fan tweeted after the film, “My mind is still blown over how MARVEL-ous The Avengers was ... although I DID NOT APPRECIATE THAT ADOPTION JOKE, THOR.”

He later tells msnbc.com he did laugh at the line, but it's still a cause for concern.

“As an adoptee, I didn't have a problem and chuckled at Thor's line. However, at one point in my life as a younger person struggling with identity issues, I probably would've felt some discomfort with it,” the writer explains. “Being adopted is a complication that can come, varying from person to person of course, with a baggage of additional issues that non-adopted people never have to worry or think about. ... While I personally wasn't offended by the joke, at the same time, as an adoptee, I also deeply understand why some would (be).”

Nevertheless, he agrees that humor shouldn't have limits.

“Comics have the right to poke fun at whoever they want and I don't think adopted people should be off-limits, he adds. “I say this both as a minority (Korean-American) and adoptee.”

Just saw the movie at an IMAX 3D theatre. I could have done without the 3D, but other than that the movie was amazing.

The helicarrier action scene was my favorite scene, and the Hulk/BW chase scene was fantastic.

I still don't like Scarlett as the Black Widow though. I think she needed to be much colder initially, and an accent would have helped.

Yeah, BW/Scarlet was dreadful in IM2, but great in Avengers. So I'll just chalk that up to IM2 being shit.

Agreed. I was kinda cringing when she had to fight to break into Hammer's HQ, looked so...crappy. Here though, she looked more natural.

It's called the next Bourne film.

Not gonna lie, MI4 gave me hope that Renner would be great in Bourne Legacy while Avengers cemented me seeing it Day One.

Eh Jeremy Renner and ScarJo were like giant vacuums in this film. Whenever they were on screen all the fun was sucked out of me and I got bored again.

Could have cut their scenes and made room for more Banner and Stark tbh.

yeah, this. it really made you scared of the hulk. i mean yeah dudes a raging monster, but being stalked by that dude, and then have him charging at you while youre alone in the darkness was truly frightening

i also dont like scarjo as black widow. i dont know who id rather have but i just done like her in that role

I want to see how this guy scored on reading comprehension on his standardized tests
I'm hoping that this is just opportunistic and not a true plea for an apology.

Emily Blunt was Marvel's first choice for both Black Widow and Peggy Carter.

Actually, someone WAS bitching that when Captain America gave Fury 10 bucks, it was because he was used to being in the 40s and was tipping the help.

Wha

Just got back from the theater. FUCKING AWESOME.

They totally nailed it. The characters are true to past movie versions of themselves and also get closer to their comic book versions at the same time. It's got to be the best part of movie, they like packaged whatever it is that makes those characters who they are... I feel the same way about Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in Xmen flicks.

The HUMOR! holy shit, what (to me) would normally be cringe worthy one liners in the comics translated so much better to the movie.... puny god.

And then when the action ramps up they really start layering on the cheese but in the best super hero comic book way. All those sweeping shots of the whole group looking bad ass, huge nerd boner in my pants.

Probably the best marvel movie yet. I feel pretty meh about almost everything else they've done, and even though I heard this was good before hand and went in with high expectations I was still blown away. So good.

"IS MARVEL'S "THE AVENGERS" OFFENSIVE TO SHADOWY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN POORLY LIT BACKROOMS?
NUMEROUS POORLY LIT AGENCIES HAVE BEEN CALLING IN AND COMPLAINING THEY ARE BEING SHOWN IN
POOR LIGHT. 'WE REALLY DO HAVE BETTER LIGHTING THAN THAT; WE CAN SEE THE TIP OF THE NOSE AND
USUALLY THE RIGHT EYE AND UPPER CHEEK. THE DRAMATIC INTERPRETATION THAT WE ARE COMPLETELY IN
SHADOWS IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD.' SO WHAT DO YOU THINK? ARE THESE AGENCIES SHINING LIGHT ON THIS
MOVIE'S UNSAVORY ELEMENTS? VOTE NOW!

I could have done without seeing Fury going to his superiors and having the "you can't do this" "we have no choice" conversation more than once. It seemed like obvious padding.

Which is a shame since most people are willing to suspend belief when reading the comics but tend to overlook them when portrayed on the big screen. At my screenings, there where a lot of 'Whoa cool" when Hawkeye was shooting shit and they loved BW's fight with the gangsters.

Hawkeye is awesome sauce. He had a bow and arrow and stuff. I thought it was great! BW had nothing but "a highly specific skillset" as she kept saying. Guns and flips and terrible acting. I found her character boring, but then I did think Scar Jo was very poor in the film. I can appreciate a nice looking lady, but this was just...no.

I especially loved this. They showed that pan sweep of the Avengers in the trailer, and I found it corny as shit.

But when I went to see the movie, that pan is fucking awesome in the proper context of the movie. I blame the guys handling the trailers for screwing that up. They made an awesome moment look pretty cheesy in the trailer.
