Curious, has anyone with an Asus Z77 mobo and a Kepler used the Lucid Virtu MVP feature? I'm curious if it really helps with tearing and stuttering.

New bench below. Changed 4xMSAA to 8xMSAA. I don't know, I never use 8xMSAA in games anyways so I didn't see the point. For reference heres my specs:
Core i7 940 overclocked to 3.6ghz
6 GB OCZ RAM in triple channel
EVGA X58 FTW3 motherboard
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC (still at whatever factory settings Gigabyte OCs to)
120 GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
Corsair HX650 PSU

Edit:
Just tried 301.24 drivers and got these results instead:

FPS: 52.9
Score: 1331

Ha. Tweaking never stops...but, IMO Prime95 is not a valid OC verification tool. That's the difference - your stability versus mine. LinPack/IntelBurnTest will find problems Prime95 cannot.
Like I said, TJunction is 95 C on Sandy Bridge, so I'm well within the thermal profile for the processor. There's no problem with this setup other than people that are scared of voltage. It's heat that is the problem. And like I said, I'm OK there. If anything, I'll keep going up. Nothing wrong with 1.5v. I can run at 5.0 GHz plus but it doesn't pass LinPack/IntelBurnTest.
I can give my personal experience that overvolting a CPU will decrease its lifespan, and performance. I don't know if this has changed with Sandy Bridge, but I ran a QX9770 at 1.475 volts for about 2 years. Towards the end of its use, I started BSODing for no reason, even though it was stable for almost 2 years. The only way to stop the blue screens was to downclock or overvolt more.
Also, 5C within TJMax? I feel uncomfortable if I get within 30C. Also, where do you dump all this heat? Your office must be unbearably hot.
iirc 1.3625V was the higher safe end for voltage.I can give my personal experience that overvolting a CPU will decrease its lifespan, and performance. Although it's very possible, your PSU or motherboard voltage control may have very well degraded, resulting in your CPU not receiving as much voltage as usual after 2 years.

Not surprised if it degraded at that voltage at high speeds. Stock should still be 100% fine though.
Yeah, that's totally possible too. I was pretty convinced at the time that it was due to my relatively high voltage running 24/7. I remember doing some research, and reading an article about how overvolting can degrade the inner components or something. Since then, I've been pretty reserved about my voltage, except for when I benchmark -- which I don't run 24/7.
Which drivers were you running before? I did my bench with 301.34
My rule is essentially: am I ready/willing to replace this CPU yet? Then overvolt the hell out of it. Once I near the end of my 2500K's life and I feel I'm ready to upgrade, I'll probably try to get the most out of it and maybe delay my purchase if I get favorable results.
Of course they will, Nvidia has only released 1 WHQL driver afaik since the release of Kepler and we've just reached 2 Beta drivers. Sure they are working their butts off to improve Kepler overall, Nvidia has a great track record in my memory of doing some great improvements.
Well i'm not really in a hurry to get a new card so i'll give the Asus about 2 more weeks. Lets hope its coming out next week. MSI sure is slacking, wonder why they haven't made a Twin Frozr yet.

Wouldn't that be somethingIf the Asus shows up in the next few days, I'll probably order it instead and return the unopened Gigabyte.
I have a 2007 Mac Pro.
I wish I could get an NVIDIA card for it, but it doesn't boot to 64bit so they don't work
I'd love to have some CUDA support.

What the hell do you upgrade to from an oc'd 2500k? lol

The thing is there is no telling how many of those units will be taken up by pre-orders, non I hope![]()
Lack of CUDA support on Mac is why I'm moving to PC soon. After having using a CUDA machine at work for editing, I can say that it is such a huge boost over just CPU rendering.
The 670 is looking very tasty for Premiere Pro work![]()
I returned my reference KFA2 670, wasn't happy with the stock cooler, wasn't to fussy about the temps but it was too noisy for my liking, just ordered myself a Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II, fingers crossed it will be here tomorrow, I'm hoping that will be a lot quieter.
Sandy or IvyBridge-E?
I guess you can only go to six or eight cores for it to be a true upgrade....i was contemplating getting a 3770K to upgrade my 2500K but it felt more like a sidestep than anything....so yeah im not upgrading till Haswell
Im sure a 2500K wont bottleneck a GTX670.
Crazy better than reference card sound levels. One thing I hate about my xfire 5850 rig is the fan noise @ > 40%. I usually just crank up my sound in games (or headphones) anyway though.25dBA @ 1m under full load. Yeah, I think It'll be quiet.

I'm hoping my overclocked 2600K will last me until Intel's mainstream (i.e. reasonably priced) hex/octo-core offerings, and that's not looking to happen until (at least) Skylake in 2015/16.

EVGA is replacing my card, very good customer service.

Has anyone heard of Zotac before? I never have but they have cards in stock at newegg. I'm just wondering if it'd be worth it in getting one, or if they are one of the bad manu
Never used their brand but I've seen plenty of reviews that have featured zotac cards and they seem as good as any other brand.Has anyone heard of Zotac before? Yeah, EVGA rocks, they even sent me a replacement HSF free of charge when I told them that my card was a bit loud for my liking.
Another review seems to indicate higher noise levels when idle (37 dBA) and under load (38 dBA).

Someone at Nvidia is looking out for the Mac users. These drivers are allowing supposedly allowing support of the 5xx series in the Mac Pro.
Check out the Mac Pro forums at the Macrumors site for more details. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a GTX 570 if support for the 670 doesn't come soon.
