Hatsune Miku Project Diva series general discussion thread

So over the weekend I decided to bite the bullet and go for the Miku Vita.

Plan A: Play-Asia is already presold out.

Plan B: via email from AmiAmi:

We unfortunately cannot ship handheld gaming systems overseas because Japan Post prohibits the shipment of lithium-ion batteries by air. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Plan C: via email from NCS:

Hi Jack, yes we will stock both items and we'll be glad to notify you once we open up preorders. Thanks for checking with us.

Plan C will most certainly be the most expensive option, but it's looking to be my only one!

Yeah NCSX usually is the most expensive. I hope they come through for you. They've never let me down until this last order when I was trying to get the Fire Emblem 3DS and after waiting for 2 weeks and emails back and forth they told me their supplier had not yet come through for them. Needless to say I was not too happy but decided to go with an Ice White system as an alternate and I've been very happy with it. The 3DS looks good in white but that Fire Emblem Cobalt Blue unit would have been great also.

Hopefully their problems with the Fire Emblem unit was just down to it being a Nintendo Online thing and not indicative of a larger problem. That Miku Vita sure is nice and I'm going to have a hard time holding out on it even though I have absolutely no need for it. Good luck!

All the major game retailers in Nagasaki Prefecture are sold out of pre-orders as far as I can tell.

I did the rounds over the weekend and it's nowhere to be found. Ebay/Japanese auction site pre-order markups goooooo.

Already? Wow! I wonder how many of the special edition Vita's will be sold. If it's like the PS3 special editions that get put made I would guess less than 25k and because this is a Vita (which is less popular) it could be far, far less than that depending on what they think the demand will be.

5/16: That bit of merchandise from an earlier post is on sale on some web store. No idea about how long the sale lasts (could even be over already) or if they'd ship internationally, but the store link: http://chokuhan.nicovideo.jp/

Loving the new modules. I wish I had the money to go to Sega and ask them to sell me a Project Diva arcade cabinet. ;_;

Songs from Extend coming to Arcade? Does that mean we should expect a Dreamy Theater Extend soon?

This is the pattern we were on before Dreamy Theater 2nd was announced. But Next Project DIVA does sort of make another full blown Dreamy Theater seem impractical if we're expecting a PS3 version of that next year. I'd love it if they were to somehow expand Dreamy Theater 2nd with the new content though.

Project DIVA/Next Project DIVA and Arcade/Dreamy Theater are done by completely different teams, so it's not a matter about focusing on one vs the other.

This is what I'm counting on (shouldn't this be announced already?) if there is a release at all: Extend as a DLC expansion for DT2nd makes sense, I probably wouldn't buy it otherwise. (Who am I kidding, I would... damn it.)

Just saw the scans!

DAT AR FUNCTION!!!! I can totally see OTAKUs are going to die for this title.................

It is like new love+. You can take pictures with Miku. BUT it is Vita, you can expect a real Miku (not some polygonized girl friends) in the picture. There is a shot in which Miku is sitting in a real bed....In another, Miku is sharing an umbrella with a guy...

OMG...

Isn't this basically just a photo overlay? That's what it looks like.
I think it would be cooler to have a polygonal one, animated and feeling more alive in the scene.

All new songs and costumes for Project Diva f :)

http://andriasang.com/con16s/miku_new_songs/

Some of the previous songs will probably be released as DLC.

Speaking of songs, which of your favorite songs would you like to see in the game?

Stratosphere (2008 Remix)

Yoru-iro, Hitohira

I've never be able to get any of the Dreamy Theaters sadly. Me wants actual PS3 game.

Still good news though.

Just as an FYI, AmiAmi is now listing a preorder for Project DIVA f that includes their exclusive pre-order bonus: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TVG-PSV-00259

No announcement as to what the preorder bonus actually is yet. Most likely some sort of physical extra (my copy of extend came with a tapestry/placemat and a DVD). You can also probably preorder from CD Japan, Amazon.co.jp, 7-Eleven, Lawson, Circle K, etc. for other preorder bonuses that will undoubtedly be unique to the others. You can take a look at extend's store-exclusive preorder bonus list if you want some idea of what to expect.

Cool. I'll be going with neowing/cdjapan since I have a lot of points there. Their bonus thing is still tba.

I pre-ordered from AmiAmi on or about the day that it went up for pre-order. AmiAmi has emerged as my new favorite import site for Japanese games because of their prices and the fact that they always get me my pre-order bonuses unlike Play-Asia.

What shipping do you use? I use them mainly for figures with ems, and yeah it's fine. But games you could probably go with the cheaper small packet airmail, is that what you use?

I usually go with cdjapan for games, cds etc. because their airmail is super fast for some reason. It's like 700yen and it gets to me in 4 days (Australia), which is equal to ems amiami speed but half the price lol.

Playasia is terrible, though. Stopped using them for quite a while now, unless it's the only place with stock.

Friend called me yesterday, looks like NCS finally put the preorder up:

http://www.shopncsx.com/nextdiva.aspx

He did point out the Japanese name was wrong, as if they just rushed to get the page finally up. Wonder how long it'll take them to fix it. :)

I ended up ordering from AmiAmi as well. Hopefully there's no issues with game/preorder bonuses. :)

Weekly Diva Station updates~ selected updates, chronological order today:

6/5: We have pictures of Project DIVA f's packaging, and more shots of the Vita. Click below to enlarge:

(Why is the game CERO C? lol)

Looks like it has its own screen protector film design too:

And the AR card:

5/31: Dreamy Theater extend announced. Andriasang already pulled all the images from this article already so not reposting. They also link the official website, which seems to list 36 songs (extend's songlist, nothing more) so far.

5/25: Project DIVA f second music announcement video. (YouTube version). You've probably already seen this by now.

5/24: Project DIVA f infodump and screenshots. Also, the official website is open. Again, stuff you've probably already seen, so not reposting.

Looks so goood, hype!

If the yen wasn't so strong, and I didn't already have a vita, I would be allllll over that! But who knows, if I can find one at a reasonable non super markedup price, I might bite.

Apparently one of the Joystiq writers has located the Miku demo, though as he notes, "there was no release info, or really anything. Just a demo unit sitting there."

Well if it is coming to the US then I would have to buy it, but I'm sure 100% sure it having a booth there means it's coming. It could just be another venue for Japanese press? For all we know the game might have still been in Japanese.

Need more infoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! >>
