Well if it is coming to the US then I would have to buy it, but I'm sure 100% sure it having a booth there means it's coming. It could just be another venue for Japanese press? For all we know the game might have still been in Japanese.

As the guy who used to joke with the Japanese Konami guys at E3 in the 90's asking in Japanese where Tokimeki Memorial was in their booth and they'd get a laugh to running the game localization division for a certain now dead US anime company to attending Tokyo Game Show in 1997 where a friend who worked at Konami Computer Entertainment Aoyama at the time (who left and started Global A Entertainment) arranged a meeting with his boss to interpret for me to talk to two people from the main office to discuss an English version of Tokimeki Memorial, I know how crazy things can avalanche with something you would have never expected in a million years.

Knowing Anoop for years and recently started reading his site, I found the guy who was the producer of the Project Diva games. I hit him up a few times on twitter thanking him. I had a crazy idea which I posted in this thread before, of asking the guy behind the Project Diva Extend English Patch to contact the producer via twitter and offer him the work done so far to see if it'd help along a set of english menus in the Japanese Vita game so we could play it without having to worry about a re-release in the US market which would probably sell ok, not great... you look at the popularity of the Miku concert at AX being sold out... and sent him some links to the english screens from the Extend english patch, they realized there are people out there who do spend their time playing/wanting to play Diva in English, so stuff like this occurs.

We've seen it before at previous E3's - Bombastic (XI Go) at the Capcom booth, Katamari Damacy & Taiko at the Namco booth and so on...

So it couldn't hurt... hopefully enough people stop by and check out/play it that Makoto Osaki might be impressed enough to seriously consider it. :)

This is not always the case, some games are shown on the floor just to gauge interest, and they don't always get localized/released.

Part of me wants it localized because that would mean I could cancel my import pre-order and buy it much cheaper and probably in English, the other part can't wait that long. :P (I don't know if I'd double dip)

Personally, I'll dip as many times as they ask me to.

I also spotted that Miku logo last night after the Sony show and immediately got a little bit excited over what it might mean. I would love for Sega to use Project Diva f as a test case for the Imports section of the PSN but even more so if they give us the DLC along with it so I don't have to reset my Vita for the account switch to Japanese.

Obviously I'm still keeping my pre-order at this point with AmiAmi but this is certainly a development to keep an eye on and I'm thrilled that Sega is even considering this.

Edit- I tweeted Makoto Osaki about seeing the Miku logo at the Sony E3 booth and about how much we would love to see Project Diva f come to America. It can't hurt, right?

I think of it like when Right Gauge made the Momoi shirts in Japanese XXXL (because I complained Japanese XL were too tight). Everyone was telling me that they were the most comfortable JP shirt they owned and they keep needed to using that size for US concerts. DON'T TELL ME, TELL THE COMPANY. (I could SAY 200 people claimed the shirts were great and to make more or 200 people could tell them individually. Which one will have more impact?)

(Funny side note - so I went to a concert in JP and the person who made the shirts knew and printed up some XXXL specifically for that concert I went to. In the super long line in the stairwell at the BIC Camera to buy merchandise for the concert at least 4-5 Japanese Momoists came up and thanked me for the XXXL. I finally reach the merchandise table and they are the only thing sold out. I find her manager who doesn't believe me and he goes over and talks to them - he's stunned. He does a print run in two colors for the rest of the tour so I have at least one to buy (this was the second concert of the tour we were at) - sold out again before we can even get the order in!)

So who knows? I e-mailed the guy behind the Project Diva Extend translation to chime in on this... maybe we'll get lucky. We'll see!

I just tweeted Shuhei Yoshida and the official Playstation account. Probably worth tweeting at Sega Japan too if someone who knows Japanese can send it.

edit: I doubt anyone that's gauging reaction is reading neogaf, so if people want to take action firing up twitter is probably a better way.

Boy did I write a stupid typo when I was in a hurry and didn't proof read. That MEANT to say "...not sure 100% that having a booth means it's coming".

I had a hunch something was odd there, should've followed it, haha.

Any word on the demo's framerate at E3?

I was at E3 today, just got back from hanging out in DTLA afterwards...checked out Sony's booth, walked around more, then forgot I wanted to check out Vita Miku and went back to Sony's booth and found it.

I was very surprised to see the whole UI in the demo localized in English...looks great, looks like a very smooth, high-res version of Project Diva to me.

I don't have a Vita myself...but this game will most likely be the tipping point for me to get one...

Sega, Crypton, whoever's reading this: BRING IT OUT HERE! =)

After all the Project Diva f at E3 excitement I had to go back and fire up Project: Mirai tonight. It's still doing a good job at scratching my Miku rhythm game itch until Project Diva f gets here in some form or another.

I wonder what makes Project Diva f more feasible than Project Mirai for a possible NA release besides the Playstation Network? Could it be Sony themselves who are more lenient in regards to that kind of thing?

It might be due to perception that fans would prefer the full sized Miku over Nendoroid-Miku (like the one that dances at the concerts, etc.), or maybe Sony is more lenient, or maybe they feel PSN is a better solution or that the existing Project Diva fans are more familiar with the Diva setup than the Mirai setup, etc.

One idea could be that while they had the Vita version on display to "gauge interest", they may not actually be gauging interest for the Vita version at all, but rather the PS3 version coming next year (since consoles are bigger than handhelds in the West)?

bought Dreamy Theater 2 yesterday..(my first DT game)...

Although not as good as the arcade versions, the visual is simply stunning~ DT2 has all the songs from the first game and I was impressed by SEGA doing this....

Probably people in this thread all already knew, but one HUGE downside for me is I cannot make ANY progress on PS3 (unlock stuff). I have to do it on my PSP and sync the save back to the PS3 game to play newly unlocked songs/costumes......

This is a downside for everyone ..expect the dreamy extend to be the same...

At least this time you can just sync , in the first you had to leave your psp on connected to play ( i believe )

You didn't have to leave it connected, but you had to have the link program running every time you wanted to advance past the title screen.

... I remember seeing that, and I remember looking for a decent Vita case. Not sure why I didn't put two and two together until now.

Adding it to my Project DIVA f preorder, hopefully it doesn't delay the shipment.

That's what I did also. 1 EMS shipping charge is certainly better than two! And I'm pretty sure that the Project Mirai accessory set was ready day and date with the game so I've got my fingers crossed that will also be the case with the Project Diva f accessory pack.

I was looking through comments left on my videos on YouTube and noticed this comment left on my Miku Flick video:

I come from the future. After conquering the solar system, humanity expanded into known solar systems, our drive for conquest and expansion drove our race to conflict and ultimately to close extinction. I have used the remaining energy in my colony to travel to this time and warn you of the irreversible mistake that you will soon make. I only have 0.0038% energy left before my presence is expulsed from this time line, therefore I must be brief.
In 8 months, a new.. wtf is this video lol, oh shi␀

lol did one of you guys write this?

New batch of songs revealed by Famitsu. (Siliconera reporting as usual while Kotaku continues to completely ignore the game. :P)

Siliconera said:
Famitsu announced a few more songs in Hatsune Miku Project Diva f. The PlayStation Vita game will have "Dye," "Fire Flower," "Freely Tomorrow," "Hai Hai Hai Ni," "Nostalogic," "Odds & Ends," and "Time Machine."

Another list, has 8 songs instead of Siliconera's 7, courtesy the ever-reliable miyuki:

http://hokanko-alt.ldblog.jp/archives/67576769.html

1640mP - Time Machine / Miku
halyosy - Fire@Flower / Len
Mitchie M - FREELY TOMORROW / Miku
AVTechNO! - DYE / Luka
yuukiss - Nostalogic / MEIKO
TennenP - HAI WA HAI NI / KAITO
Weekender Girl <- New song? Never heard of it.
ODDS&ENDS <- New song #2?

Also according to miyuki, we should be getting a better look at these songs on Weekly Diva Station tomorrow. Look for the traditional megapost then~

DYEEEEEEEEEEEEE :3

Looking awesomer everytime. (dives into YT to check out the songs.) This and Ys Celceta news are the two reasons I got a Vita. :)

Here's a bunch of YouTube links for that purpose, once again courtesy of miyuki:

Nice update! I saw these posted on Siliconera today while I was on my lunch break and am glad to see they got included here in our thread. And thanks for the Youtube links. I'll check those out.

LOOOOL

The freely tomorrow part clearly took inspiration from the men in black 2 clip ( with will smith [black suits comin])

Anyway this is so much better than the custom song i got for diva 2 & extend..
as expected crypton does this well in term of presentation.
Kaito is still my least favorite vocaloid ...and i want more meiko...

I also noticed 'Melancholic' in the clip which I know from Project Mirai. The animation for it in Project Mirai is 2D and not nearly as nice as what they are showing for Project Diva f. Great song though as it's one of my favorites from Project Mirai.

If the previous games are any indication, it's probably 60 just for Miku and 5 each for the rest.

Going by the previous games ,
  • 8 for luka
  • 8 for rin
  • 6 for ren
  • 4 for kaito
  • 3 for meiko
  • 31 for miku

I think we can expect the old costumes to arrive by dlc as well ( it's a safe bet )

Finally got a SS rank on a song in Project Mirai! It was Doubutsu Uranai (Animal Divination) and I had gotten really close a couple of times but then finally got it last night right before bed. The SS rank means every note (in this case 315) were hit perfectly and is required to unlock the Crystal Star outfit for purchase.

I'm really pleased with how much fun and playtime I'm getting out of Project Mirai which of course makes me very hopeful that Project Diva f will be even that much better.
