Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

It's more like no one ever bothered with Diablo II single player, and it might as well be a multiplayer only game.

If the servers were down, and there was a single player option, I still wouldn't be playing it.
Oh, OK. "hyduK wouldn't play it". I didn't hear Blizzard mention that one. I'm sold!

I guess? The art book is nice but the Diablo skull is something I'd never keep out. It's enough to have all those big Blizzard boxes tucked on a shelf underneath my film collection when company comes over.

i feel the same way I think im going to put a chain/lanyard on it so i can hang it on the rearview in my truck.

Got in the game (NA) but got a bunch of weird errors on the way...

"The character is already a member" was the last one on the screen... lol

while the servers are down i wanted to ask this question. Why are the graphics not better than starcraft 2?! You would think that since this game came after SC2 the graphics would be improved, it doesnt make sense.

Gotta love the corporate apologists seriously going with the "always online DRM = makes it a multiplayer game!" line.

Yeah it's pretty silly. I don't know how you can defend issues that keep people from playing on launch, especially for a game that some can and will go through entirely solo (without so much as ever seeing or talking to another human player), and yet people persist.

You can love Blizzard and love Diablo 3 and still admit that it's pretty shitty that players are struggling with merely getting into the game.

Ok. Fine. Totally understandable.

Why isn't there a single-player option to let people play the game now? A mode where the characters are 100% separate from the battlenet world/characters.

My anger isn't directed at you, just at the situation. Sorry.

Because Blizzard wants to try and sell people items using real money and also thinks they need draconian DRM. For some reason.

CE just came; let's do this.

Okay, stopped allowing it to just hang and managed to get the character select screen...fingers crossed...
edit: whoooo actually got in! US servers. Rollback wasn't too bad, achievements are borked though.

Indeed, the unicorn currency is most defiantly a superior and stable monetary system, all hail the Unicorn !

Going back to the 2 hand weapon talk..

I'm guessing that 2h weapons are going to really start shining when you start getting higher attack speed, since they will get more of a benefit from % speed increases than 1h weapons do.

You have to start on Normal. Once you beat normal, that character can go to Nightmare. Repeat for Nightmare -> Hell and Hell -> Inferno. Think of it as a progression series for the character rather than "difficulty modes."

Oh thanks, that's what I thought and what I remembered from D2. Something someone said in the thread made me unsure.

Sooo, going to bed finally ._..

Is everyone back in the game? For those guys who allready beat him, what lvl should I be for the act3 boss? HC DH. Have ~2,2k life.

Got in, but can't add people to my friends list, so still not playing. Brother and I have tried adding each other, neither of us recieves the others request. Awesome.

Also of note, at least as far as Monks are concerned, there's a passive that boosts Spirit Regen by 25% when using a Two Hander so it could theoretically be the better option. Especially since their DPS is primarily through their skills that cost spirit but with no cooldown. Dropping bells everywhere.

I am playing for 9 straight hours...
Am in Act II -
head
spoiler wont say nothing, but dont look, hehe.
I am searching everything and my map is fully scouted.
I love my monk - I found a build that really suits me.

Man, I must stretch now, shower and am pulling allnighter.

"Identifing Diablo - Yup, it's a Diablo"

Twelve years and we have another gem in our hands.

Graphics are amazing and my laptop is having no problems in 1360x768 everything in HIGH and AA on.
I can scale it for it to be even playable at 1080 without any problems!

Them environmets...

No time to lose! Chuga chuga

Having security from the rampant abuse of third-party hacks, exploits, and duping that plagued Diablo 2 is far more important to me than being able to play offline. I understand there's people who don't care about playing with other people, trading, PvP, and so on, but there's a much more sizable contingent who does. Sucks for you, I guess.

Ugh according to connection information, i'm 8.17 of 8.19 (99%) and its downloading at 12.5 kb/s

I just dont understand why Blizzard didnt just put the whole client on the disc, and then maybe just get people to download a day 1 patch if necessary.

I defending the consequences of the choice they made to lock the game with an always on connection not the choice. I personally think its ridiculous they don't allow people to play an offline mode. I understand they don't want item spoofing or hacking, but just prevent characters who were made in offline games from being used online and that won't be an issue.

That's awesome I had no idea. I wonder if Barbs have a similar buff. Is this documented in the game anywhere?

That's how it was in D2. You couldn't play offline characters online. It didn't matter because due to much of the game being client-side it made it much easier for people to create hacks and find dupes and completely ruin the online game. Some of you need a history lesson on Diablo 2.

This game is officially fucking stupid. I'm getting random lagfests where the game slows down to a crawl to about 5FPS, and the worst fucking part is that the game is server side so the monsters aren't lagging according to the game, IT'S ONLY MY PLAYER. Because of this bullshit, I've died about 3 times already at level 5.

FUCK YOU, Blizzard. Fix this stupid lag bullshit!
