It speeds up the downloads. I went from 75KB/s to 2MB/s within moments of changing that option. I didn't have to restart the client although the directions say you should.

Then double click the .ahk file you download.
Boot into D3 and enjoy--you DO have to rebind WASD and bind Move (which is unbound by default) to F12.
If it's not working after that, Alt+Tab and in your system tray there should be an H icon...rightclick on it and restart the script then tab back in. Took me like 5 minutes to get it working. It's AMAZING.
There's a little green (or yellow/red if your ping is really high) bar on the bottom UI in game.
200 is just barely playable for me. 300 (which I saw plenty of) is ghastly.

speaking of which, I have a great internet connection...but was seeing 400-500. so bad.
When the game compares a new weapon to the currently equipped weapon (or armor), it only compares base stats, right? So it will always say a 5 dmg weapon is better than a 4 dmg weapon, even if the 4dmg weapon has extreme strength/dexterity bonuses on it? Or does it actually calculate the added benefits in (also things like fire damage, extra armor etc) and then give you the numerical comparisons?
EDIT: In the example of the Boneshatter, is it -7.5 damage BEFORE the +1-3 holy damage and +35 strenght, or AFTER that?

j/k but I've been somewhat disappointed with the 2-handed weapon options for Barbs. Doesn't seem to be an increment on DPS from just having two 1-handed weapons plus you get worse attack speed.

Has their been any confirmation about whether this is in any way bannable by anticheat software? I don't care if people disapprove of using it on vaguely moral or ethical grounds, I just want to be sure I won't get banned for using it.

Keep in mind you can only use blues and up for crafting. Whites and grays are vendor trash; worse actually, since they sell for so little. Not even worth picking up.

Base stats + additional stats that read "1-5 damage" or something like that, as far as I understand. Actually, as far as I understand those "1-5 damage" stats are incorporated into the DPS of the weapon. So it's not like
20 DPS
+
1-2 Damage
but more like
20 DPS (19DPS + 1-2 damage)
but someone can correct me if I am wrong. It doesn't take into consideration your class and stats like int/str/dex however.

How was the live event in the flesh ? I saw the youtube feed and it seemed sorta fun if not a bit awkward at times.
Was fun, but standing up for hours was exhausting. Signing took ridiculously long, so alot of people just left without autographs.
They launch t-shirts with canons that managed to hit my brother in the face haha.
Some people went crazy though, one landed near the baby carriage and this guy fell on the carriage.
Luckily the baby was okay.

You can compile the .ahk into any .exe file you want and name it whatever you want. I highly doubt they will ban people for it--they have dupers/hackers/etc. to worry about. I consider it more of an accessibility thing for people with disabilities in their right hand. I'd throw a fit if I ever got banned for the game not being handicapped accessible.
They did say they won't support it or allow it. But never said they will ban like they did previously for the DarkD3 shit.

I've been mixing in between. The materials you get from act 1 normal level items are not used in later recipes, so you aren't really future proofing in that sense. Right now especially I seem to be able to sell mediocre blue stuff for decent sums (1k+) of gold each which I can then use to upgrade the smith or buy cheap rares on the AH that outclass the stuff I can craft for my level.
I'm just curious, say, in the case of the legendary Boneshatter before:
Would the holy damage and the damage gained from strength be incorporated in the comparison? As in, it would be 7.5 damage worse than his previous weapon AFTER all those extra effects, or is only the BASE damage 7.5 damage worse?

A friend and I debated the whole online single player concept today to great length. We all know that a rough launch isn't unexpected so its odd to go bat shit crazy when there are problems. We knew this was coming. However its also crazy to create a game that can totally exist in an offline realm and force it to exist only as long as I'm tethered to the great god Blizzard.
That sentence really summed it up for me. "Well at least I got to play 2 hours tonight."
To Blizzard, playing their game is privilege. You money is a tithe and you soul belongs to them.
