Yeah I don't mind it not being there, personally. You'd be able to notice it with the zoom function but that's probably not how people play the game most of the time.

Haha, nope. How far in are you? I'm close to finishing Act 1 (seriously how are you guys barrelling so far ahead? There's too much to explore and discover!) so I'm going to finish that tonight then probably just make a brand new character.
 
Anyone know how the buddy keys work?
I bought the digital download overpriced from Blizzard/battle.net but didn't get any from what I can tell. But a few friends bought the boxed copies but haven't really seen the codes, are they printed in the manual or just som extra papers in the box?

D2's stats may as well not be there, because there is a "correct" way to do them that if you don't do you're an idiot.

And the skill trees are hardly that, at least on Normal. It's so restrictive and anti-experimentation. The most viable builds are those that just pick one skill tree, and very specific skills from that tree at that.

I've already discussed this about a hundred times and I came up with a list of 25 hell-viable builds, most of which were not single element and therefore not single-tree. The list of builds viable in NORMAL would encompass just about any build that does not involve putting every single point into passives. Also, there are at least two different recognized ways to do stats "right", and more if you're not playing a current patch version of the game.

You've played Diablo 2 once. I've beaten it more times in the past week than you have ever. I can dredge up my list if you'd like, or you could just take my word for it.
 
This is my first Diablo game. Stupid question, what are the red blobs I pick up after I kill someone?

The game is a blast, btw. Playing as a hunter.

I love character customisation, that's all. It matters to me what the character looks like even under the armour - and as people have said you can make invisible dye as well.

So I'm trying to install D3 on my laptop (no longer have access to my desktop for the next week or so :P) and the installer won't go anywhere, and then finally pops up with a window that says "Diablo 3 requires a newer operating system to run". Which doesn't make sense, because my laptop is running on Windows Vista, which should be fine. It's Windows Vista Home Premium, but I don't think that really means anything to it, does it?

You are running it as admin, correct? That seems to help a lot of people.

I think it's hilarious that they got the voice actor for the Acolyte in Warcraft 3 to say "so be it" again (Act II).
 
Fuck I'm back to the mouse issues again. When I was running it in the windowed full screen it was down to 40 fps for no reason. Now I can't even get it to work again on windowed mode 2 from the prefs file.
 
Anyone found any use out of the black mushroom?
I put it in my stash but would like to know if it activates some special dialogue or quest or something if I instead have it in my inventory.
 
Finally made it to the first boss. Good times.

Is anyone else experiencing this rate of disconnects? 316407 and 3007 errors. They vary for me, anywhere between 1 and 20 minutes after I log in.
 
Gahaha, they hit the defiled crypt and run into Skeletons with 1.4 million HP. Several of them. I think Method's died like five times now?
 
I'll keep playing I guess. If you are interested in Act1 NM, you should find the stream link on the last page. Don't wanna post it for a third time :d.

When they were doing the blacksmith's wife quest, and walking in the wilderness, everyone in chat were saying "ez mode", "the only hard thing about the game is getting refund".

Then they enter the first dungeon, couldn't even get pass the first wave right at the entrance.

Someone said "It's disgusting how easy it is to kite in this game." Good old viewer chat.
 
Finally was able to put in a good run last night with a friend. Played till late and I'm knackered this morning! Will try and put in another hour this lunch at work.

Also, if anyone has problems with the friends list (can't send invites or receive) try turning REAL ID on. That worked for me.

Golden opportunities abound in the auction house for those who are investing in the craft npcs. It shouldn't take too long to train your blacksmith to make rare items, and yellow = bank right now. WoW syndrome (purp > blue always) in full swing. Hey, works for me! I'll take yer money.
 
You can tell when the servers are up because everyone shuts the fuck up.

Shieet, you're right. I put up a few auctions (~30 rares) for 10-20k a coupel of hours ago. All but one have already been sold.

Everyone who's near it gets the XP. If the mob is worth 5000 XP, everyone gets 5000. I played with level 20-25s with my level 15 Barbarian and leveled up pretty fast.
