I'm finding Act 3 Hell to be much easier than Act 2, myself. Just like with Nightmare, a wizard can stay in Archon form indefinitely and there are relatively few really big or really fast things that can make for particularly nasty Elites.

The Act 2 guys that become invisible and invulnerable until they're right next to you are a much bigger problem than anything Act 3 throws at you. The jumping guys with bombs too. Basically anything that can guarantee that it gets into melee range with you is a problem, and there are large sections of Act 3 where virtually every enemy is some slow plodding thing that lets you fire at it for seconds at a time before having to move.

My Lvl 29 Witch Doctor. Really enjoying him.

I'm finding Explosive Toads and Dire Bat is the best instant high dmg for me. I use Poison Zombie Dogs and Gagantuan with his cleave for meat shields. I also use Poison Dump Bucket thing (The one with the giant radius) as well and the Int Boost skill constantly with Mana Steal.

offtopic fugu, how is your hardcore adventure going thus far in diablo 3? What level are you at? :)
I was killed by the Act II boss shortly after a cinematic transition due to my ping being well over what I would consider a playable threshold (it was several hundred). I'm not playing hardcore again until the lag dies down, as I do not consider that an acceptable way to die. Incidentally, I have not died on my softcore character yet and I'm halfway through nightmare.

How do I get the extra info on skills like this?

Mine doesn't show any of the "110% damage" info or anything...

haha i've been so busy nerding out over this game i haven't checked in on the OT in a couple days. Lvl 56 DH w/ 5300 damage right now. SUPER FUN lol

I just got to act 2 with my Witch Doctor and I have to agree about Dire Bats being great, how useful are Explosive frogs though? The basic ones I have currently (no rune) are almost worthless though I feel that's true about most runeless skills

Options - Gameplay - Advanced tooltips (also turn on elective mode)

EDIT: 4th place, not bad

i think you have to have advanced tooltips turned on? not sure where you would do thta in the options menu though

edit: beaten, like, what? 4 timeS?

Have you turned on advanced tooltips in the gameplay options?

EDIT: Haha, beaten so many times.

Hahaha, thanks guys.

diablo is fucking hard, true story. I about pulled my hair out on nightmare difficulty, can't imagine inferno
I thought the encounter was hard, and then halfway through I switched the size of potions that I was consuming.
If you run off, he will often let you wait out your potion/shrine timer for free. I'm thinking this is a mistake.

Finally beat normal. I took my sweet time and explored any random dungeon I came across. I could not for the life of me beat the final "part" of the game by myself even on normal. DH's are so fragile that 1-2 hits and your dead, I probably shoulda balanced DEX & Armor a bit better but i grew fond of 2-3 shotting almost every enemy and destroying named MOBS with rapid fire.

I opened up my game to the public and 2 other DH's instantly joined. We pretty much destroyed the end. Nightmare time!

female DH look so hawt. Maybe i'll start one too.

i also want to try out a female wizard.

argh but i don't wanna start all over again on normal.

Man, Act.2 is kicking my ass even on normal.

I'm a Diablo newb, but I had no problem with Act.1 at all.
Some of the enemies in there are pretty tough. I got chain feared (I could do NOTHING after my first ill fated leap in there) last night while being trapped in between three champion magewraiths - went down in no time at all.

Yeah, Wizard and DH females look great. Also going to roll a female WD so I can call her MamaOdie. Only class I can't bring myself to roll at the moment is the monk, entirely on looks (male or female).

HALP!! SOS!! I want to try my guest pass but I am behind a devilish firewall so the downloader client can't find the tracker. Are there any direct downloads for the game?

even more absurd as dh, you can jsut shift leftklick and hit him 2 screens away with your guided arrow.

Finished Normal in about 24 hrs.

Lvl 32 wizard, mostly using arcane orb (orb > exterminate) combined with buff skills, and frost nova and then teleport for escaping. Very satisfying mechanic.

On to round 2!

The online AH drastically changes how this game plays, because you can keep ahead of the curve gear-wise, which wasn't really possible in a solo run through at home.

Has anyone been able to force AA through Forceware control panel ? I've tried to force AA through Forceware CP but it didn't work. I hate the blurry FXAA option in Diablo III. :(

I'm still a bit clueless about the Diablo mechanics, hopefully someone can clear something up for me:

I explore pretty much every inch of an area, but when I exit and start up the save later, my map exploration seems to disappear. Is it supposed to be like that due to the map randomization or something?

Yea

That is correct.

Doh, seems like the server region selection was set to the Americas by default. Is it possible to somehow my migrate my characters to the Europe servers?

My I'm at the end of act 3 on Nightmare right now. I would've bowled through it with some other GAFfers but I decided to do some special item hunting and some work on my gear.

1250 isn't all that high for 48 but this gear set has 90% magic find on it lol. My actual DPS would go up if I ignored it and just went raw damage. I can still solo well to boot, just need a couple of heal skills and to be a bit safer. Going to work on getting some intelligence in there as well for a higher resist stat.

Lol, the game runs so bad on my HD 4200, crazy graphics artefacts on the world textures and characters, messed up particle effects and shaders, etc. I guess I just assumed an isometric loot whore game would do a good job of scaling down to lower systems. Oh well, no Diablo III for me.

Explosive ones are way better. They go out farther and do more damage.

This game needs a damage meter add-on. Just like in WoW. I'm curious to see who makes the most dmg when playing in a group.

You can disable peer to peer in the downloader options, I don't think the client is available outside of the downloader officially.

Mine runs really nicely on this setup:

CPU TYPE:
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor
CPU SPEED:
3.22 GHz
SYSTEM MEMORY:
4 GB
VIDEO CARD MODEL:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275
DESKTOP RESOLUTION:
1680x1050

Smoothly at 60fps with a mixture of high/medium settings (not at home right now so I can't confirm the exact settings). Isn't the 4200 newer than my graphics card?
