Jailer champions + like 5 Heralds of Pestilence = GG =/

single pack that gave me the most fits was still heralds with plague desecrator and jailer. smfh.

Wasn't the HARDEST thing I've foguht by any stretch, but holy shit was it enough to make you hate yourself for playing the game.

Performance on the Mac client = shit. Though it may only be really bad on some models of MBP. Stay away from the Mac client at all costs for the time being if you have access to a PC/Bootcamp.

Hopefully they fix it, as it's pretty disappointing not being able to play at all on my preferred OS.

Runs just fine for me, but then I have everything set to "off" or "low" because I want max performance and no distractions on the higher difficulties. Only the textures are still hat high. Did that after I have beaten normal.

Oh yes.

Only thing I would suggest (though I haven't seen the Mac version of the game yet) would probably be to run it in bootcamp.

Hopefully someone here can shed light on the performance of the Mac client for you.

Difference between OS X and Win 7 (bootcamp) is significant.

On my 330m I'm able to run with high tex quality and anti-aliasing and get approx 35fps whereas in OS X with tex quality on low and no AA average around 25. BIG difference.

Here's my Mac

I'm running everything on high and my laptop isn't even breaking a sweat :D <3 Blizzard

I'm actually starting to worry about the effect the AH is going to have on the game w/ non-soulbound loot. The whole crafting system they implemented seems to have immediately been obsoleted.

Inferno Hardcore strategy:

1. Farm money to buy stuff off AH - don't risk getting killed yourself if you don't have to.
2. Still have 99.9% chance of dying to something.

I have not used the Blacksmith a single time. Too risky and I always found great stuff.

If it's any consolation Mac Pro performance is very good. But then again it should be (2008 Octo Core / ATI HD6780) I guess I'm just brute forcing it.

I have stacks and stacks of materials I'm likely never going to use because I can just spend a few K at the AH to guarantee myself gear. Still leveling him up though.

The blacksmith would be better if you could use specific materials to at least guarantee one stat you want.

The Blacksmith can craft legendary/set items when maxed out which have the potential to be some of the best in the game. You also have to destroy a bunch of legendaries to be able to craft them.

This became my stategy shortly after starting Act 2 normal and made a significant difference in my stats.

Crafting is going to be for level60 Inferno gear from the sound of it. Anything below that, there's too many rares on the AH for cheap.

I assumed it was probably this (seems to just be a trend, though i've heard decent things about the WoW Mac client).

I assume it's due to the massive amounts of optimisation the Direct X components of the video drivers receive. The Mac client is obviously forced to use OpenGL which I would assume is nowhere as optimised as Direct X.

Witch Doctor build I used at the end:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#aedUiT!ZVb!aaZZaZ

+life for Soul Harvest was immensely useful, it was basically a free potion every 15 seconds. Spirit Walk is bailout + mana regen (not that I needed it much with this), and I kept up Haunt for life leech. Otherwise it was just Acid for groups and Darts for single targets.

Zombie dogs are fucking useless.
I'm using this build currently (end of Act II): http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#aZYdjT!ZdW!aZaZaa. It's amazing for just taking out mass quantities of enemies. (27, not 30, so don't have all 3 passives yet.)

Ouch, Method is getting stuck there.

Yeah I think that's the first mini-boss of the Act. It looks pretty rough. I think 3 players may be more ideal over 4 though, as you have the utility of more than 2 (one person can kite/distract while another can rez a downed person), but don't have to deal with the added damage/health on the monsters. Especially with undergeared characters. There's a diminishing return on that 4th person if they're not bringing a ton of DPS.

Talk about a meaningless 'world first.' Chaining corpse runs to get through the game . . .

What is interesting is that people seem to enjoy it...I cant wait for thousands of complaints about "dumbed down inferno" when they did not even engage the non-boss mobs, lol.

So after Inferno there is nothing left to do right? from there on it's just loots, loots and loots to get better gear?

Oh what, didn't realize they are just running through the mobs. LAME.

Yep, its what they have done the whole way from what I have seen when I watched. They leapfrog through the randomized instances using cooldowns and 'Warp to party member' banners while running. They make it to a boss, and chain rez kite for 40 minutes to kill it.

Pretty much. No pvp lobbies or ladder. No true character builds to work on. You can take all 5 characters to lvl60 but many people will get bored of the incredibly linear campaign and have their friends rush them. I'm even struggling to find the motivation to run through hell on my first one. Doesn't help that none of the act bosses have dropped a single rare for me after normal
Diablo
.

Pvp arenas better be pretty awesome if they want a community to stick around.
