Actually starting to die now, almost done act 1 on nightmare. I like the ranking up of difficulty, it's going well. Made me go to the AH and buy new weapons, went from 550 DPS to 1100 for only 6k Gold. I can KIND of see what people are getting at when they say the AH makes it a touch easy - but I mean, the game just started - you need to give it time to find a natural balance.

The Fields of Slaughter sure lived up to their name. Died 3 times in 30 secs and about 10 times all up in the space of 1/2 an hour... Before then I've probably died 3 times in 16 hours of play. Even though I was rocking 300+ dmg as a Monk I just got destroyed on these huge groups. Had to go back to using my Templar so I could survive the burst.

I ditched all my magic find gear earlier and went from 80 damage to 300 (now pushing 400 @28). I feel like such a badass just slaughtering my way through enemies.

Again, it depends on class. I'm a monk. I can get it up to 604 with buffs, but any higher than that would require extreme sacrifice, I'm just saying his damage isn't bad.

I'm a monk at 36 now, and my damage hits 1000+ with buffs. I'm really getting addicted to pushing it further and further.

I plan to not use the AH. It's cool to have the option for those who want to use it, but I would rather farm for great loot.

Is it pointless to farm for loot in Normal? Should I at least beat the game once and then start farming?

edit: Well, I wouldn't mind selling things in the AH. Buying? I'm good.

You can try snagging relatively weaker Magic Find gear off the AH which will increase your chances for rare drops, then sell those if they've got decent stats on them (or keep them for another character).

With Gold Find at a decent level you'll start making money pretty quickly as well.

Okay, done with my solo run, and in to nightmare.

Single, female Level 33 Demon Hunter interested in meeting attractive GAF singles for demon hunting parties and more.

Kripp is just chest farming resplendent chest now. Seems like a very easy farm "exploit" though it's not really an exploit.

Info on chest is here:

lol, love this comment:

"Finding so much good shit that all my 3 stash tabs are filling over, it really is a shame that you can only have 10 auctions up at once and can't cancel any either... "

No, these sorts of exploits are exactly what make the 10 auction limit good, and necessary.

Especially true when you consider the RMAH.

If anything I would limit it even more. Encourage more regular trading with chat channels.

I hope support for this game (not content, just support) follows WoW's model more than SC2's, even if there is no sub fee there is the RMAH as incentive to manage things properly. SC2 has had good support but it's very, very slow.

Ideal patch note:

"We have buffed every Witch Doctor spell by cutting down mana cost to 10% of their original cost while increasing damage by 5000%.

Monks are nerfed.

Demon Hunters are nerfed.

Wizards are nerfed.

Barbarians are nerfed."

Hope they get on it soon.

athenes group 4 monks... colour me surprised. told you guys 6 month ago

Kudos to a manager at GameStop (yes, GameStop) who exemplified great customer service today and was able to locate a CE for me. I should be able to pick it up next week. Despite all the bad stories about GameStop, this guy was a professional from start to finish. Even if he couldn't find one, I would feel this way.

On a separate note, I feel like I just found a Legendary item. Same feeling. Art imitating life.

Now, what to do with the digital copy I already have....

Is it possible to run the A1 boss in normal multiple times for loot? Is it like D2 where your initial "quest drop" is big, but later drops still guarantee a few blues with a high chance of rares?

My DH is pretty under-powered right now in A2 and I think it's because my equipment is pretty balls.

It's not speculation, just common sense.

One of the biggest factors of replayability was farming areas for loot, and being hosed by random number generators when the items have bad stats. Here you can just bypass that and find the exact stuff you need on the AH.

But do you have the gold to buy said items? I think people are not taking that into consideration. At level 60, really great gear is not going to be selling for pennies on the AH, it will be expensive. And the only way to get enough gold to buy the best gear will be to either farm for gold, or to farm for items to sell on the AH yourself to earn gold. Just because an item you want (need) is on the AH does not mean you can simply buy it and use it. You need to have the gold to do so.

Yes, it's possible. Yes, the first kill gets better loot.

Just change your quest to the one where you're going to kill the boss. But I'd farm the champions in the dungeon before him for loot.

You could restart the game and pick the last quest for the SK if you really wanted.

Better off buying gear from the AH unless you have high Magic Find.

Twinks will just buy gold on the rmah.

Can you explain why you care if other classes are nerfed or not? There's no PvP in the game.

farming gear with 200% mf trallalalalalala

No, the ideal patch notes for Witch Doctor would read:

- We have removed Soul Harvest and appropriately rebalanced the damage of all other witch doctor spells.

My last GS experience was one of the most pleasant financial transactions ever. I picked up a flawed copy of Skyrim, went to return it two days later for a different copy and forgot my receipt. Dude didn't care, didn't question, apologized for the bad copy and got me a new one - but not before opening up the old one to swap my cool paper matte map with the generic one that non-first day sales had.

Total boss.

I can't wait to pass Normal today, I want to get better loot already in Nightmare. Btw did anybody had any luck finding legendary's in Normal? I was fortunate enough to find a Legendary Amulet :)

Can you use two spells in one skill tier?

Like say for example on the defensive skill of the Witch Doctor you can choose Spirit Walk and Hex separately, assigning both on your action bar skills

Can't really say it clearly

Found two in Normal, a mace and a mojo. Too bad they were quickly outpaced by blues and are rather unsellable on the AH, though.
