Damn, a Captain-N game would be incredimazing. Come on Nintendo, you want it, too!
Centipedes...in my vagina?
As a large crossover game it could be cool. But just Metroid/Star Fox?
Neither is a large enough seller to do anything but hinder the other. Toss in Mario stages, and maybe some Zelda, putting each of those stars in competing games. That could sell. Work out the details later.
But Metroid/Star Fox is, as EatChildren already said, a way to kill both franchises in a single blow.
You're right. But still, I think it can work. Both are sci-fi franchises, both feature space bounty hunters, and both have been dabbling in different genres over the years. I don't see too strange this crossover if it's true. All but one of your examples are genre shifts and alterations to existing franchises, the focus still being on those franchises. Smash as an example is fairly irrelevant as cross franchise battling is the foundation for that series.
Taking two drastically different properties and smashing them together is a different beast entirely.
What a terrible idea, I can't believe Nintendo is making a really good dev work on a fucking terrible franchise, Star Fox.
You mean StarFox and Sonic. UGH, DO NOT WANT.
This doesn't make sense.
I mean, if there's a shared universe at all it's Star Fox AND F-Zero.
This was my first thought. Then they should throw in F-Zero for good measure!
Huh? Human James Mcloud from F-Zero pretty clearly means that it doesn't share an universe with the animal Star Fox characters and fox James Mcloud.
You know what screw this game, that fantasy I had involving Captain Falcon in a Bayonetta-style game is now I'm dreaming of.
What's so wrong about it?
It's wrong for the same reason that awful Sonic crossover fan fiction is wrong.
All I'm going to say is, it worked for The Avengers
And now me too for some reason.
Of course Captain Falcon won't poledance, that'd be just awkward. Also, racing minigame segments won't be stupid because Falcon is a racer unlike Bayonetta!![]()
That can't be true. A Starfox game with Metroid elements, as in game structure, not setting, would be the closest plausible thing.
