Ok i'd like to ask veteran Gaf.

Is there any point in creating two wizards ?

I noiced it playing Baba that you can't do anything about your character diffrent than changing active skills or your equipment. There is no stat points , skills tree.

Just tried monk... It's even more weird.. Got sword and.. yep in one moment he wears sword and in other he hits with his bare hand.

As of why would i use it.

Heres the thing:

my wand does 9dps and my axe 11dps...

So if i use axe my magic missles hits better !

Couldn't they rename magic missle for telekinesis shot and later telekinesis something. It would actually make sance...

What you will find it that the Class Specific items will have stats and bits more linked to your class. Mainly things to do with your resource generation etc.

It is weird but it does mean you have way more options for things you can use, instead of running around and only equipping Wands/Staves etc. At least you get to equip loads of stuff and help you progress.

Not really, unless you want to make a hardcore character.

act III is awesome. Feels a lot less like fetch quests and more like an epic journey.
I'm near the end of 3 and just a shade under 300 DPS and it's starting to take a while to get some of the enemies down.

Couple questions:

1) Does upgrading your blacksmith carry through to further playthroughs? Should I even bother on normal?

2) - lets say I find a 2 1H weapons that do 20dps each and a 2H weapon that does 30 - which is a better setup assuming stats are equal? How is DPS calculated for dual wielding?

There's an achievement for having a male and female of the same class at level 60. And the dialogue is changed a little with the opposite sex. And it allows you to progress with lower level people.

Other than that, there's no point.

Question:
When I party with a friend and we hit leave game, it breaks the party. Any way to not have it do this every time we leave a game?

Sure you can, i don't question that. My "weird" motive is that it looks like a knife is better in shooting that gun. They could do something with it like telekinesis as i said but they didn't.

There are achievements for having 2 of the same class at lvl 60 but that's about the only reason I can thing of having two of the same class.

Not only does it pass over to further playthroughs but new characters also. (gold and stash is multiple character as well)

Extra key here. $52. PM me.

This is the third Dialbo III box that's showed up at my door. I wonder how many sites I preordered from. lol

Loving the game.

Aaand done, I finally finished Hell with my Monk:

Been playing on a LAN with 3 friends for the last few days. It was fun, but I'll never do something like this again, except when D4 comes out. We all wanted to "end" the game, but there were some champions that almost sucked the fun out of it. I don't think I'll go into inferno for a long time coming. We started that mode and the champions are completely ridiculous.

Edit: I didn't want to spoil me, so I didn't search for guides or something. How do I build from this point on? I think I'll mostly go for more dexterity and sacrifice vitality for more dodge?

:( I saw changed lines but it didn't really waas worth that much (started as fem baba for fun and changed it for male baba).

Ok now my next question and i fear it. And i know it may be still early.

Is this game has any replayability ?

You can't customize your character so it leaves only loot.

I was playing D2 years fine tuning my builds, trying to improve things looking for awasome loot.

I fear if customizing your character is out then that leaves only story (fine for 1st play) and loot wich i think looks like crap on my low poly character and it's generic as fuck.

I just ran into a fun bug. I'm at zero health, but not dead. I wonder what happens if I take another hit.

Edit: Death and 10% off my gear happens. Bummer. Wanted immortality ;_;

Is it possible that you don't see the passive skill bufs in the stats? My passive skill should apply + 15% on my sword but the damage actually doesn't go up...

my Diablo 2 multiplayer experience: get someone to carry you through normal to hell in a couple of hours, then repeatedly run the Secret Cow level until you hit level 99.

yeah, I don't miss that

I'm also glad that they finally got rid of these silly restrictive skill trees, I much prefer the Guild Wars principle of letting you freely pick every skill

I think I'm just going to avoid the AH for now, except to possibly sell some stuff. The economy hasn't stabilized and it kind of hurts the game for me to take advantage of the ridiculously under priced items. I'm sure at some point, when I hit a wall, I'll cave. Hopefully at that point the economy is a little more established.

I'm not really sure how the economy is going to fix itself. Prices are dirt cheap because there is a huge volume of stuff on there, short of the player count drastically dropping, the supply is going to keep prices low.

Grrr... this is getting annoying. I want to play with more than 1 other freaking person. Why does it just throw only 2 people together every fucking time. I've only had like 1 game of 4 people and that lasted a couple seconds, because one of the guys left. 99% of this game has been played with either just myself or only 1 other person. I loved playing with a full party in D2...

The way public games work really suck the fun out of the game for me at the moment. I hope they can somehow fix that......

Oh ok. Sounds a bit weird though, I've always called them barbs in any game that has them.

Baba was what the Korean players called 'em in D2. There were a lot of them on US servers back in the day due to overcrowded azn servers, and the term caught on.

Remember, the lead designer of Bnet 2.0 is the former XBL. Matchmaking is such horseshit.

But it isn't even real matchmaking. With matchmaking I would at least have a 4 player group in the beginning, but here.....the system doesn't seem to care about player counts. :(

So, any tips for the last boss of Act II other than the smart ass comments of not getting hit?

But that's the whole point of the boss! There is not much more to it.

So I get the difference between sword and board and DW for monks. But is there any real benefit to 2H? Daibo slows down the combos so much it makes me a little loopy. And it doesn't feel like my bells are hitting much harder with it. Anyone know a reason to go with the slower 2h's that I don't know about?

Keep moving out of the way of the comet things that drop, you'll see circles on the floor before they drop, move to a spot with no circle. He does a breath thing that can be avoided if you're over on the far right. Other that that its a battle of attrition, keep plugging away and watch out for the helth orbs that drop near the middle. There's probably better methods but thats how I did it.

Binding move to a key helped me a ton in the Act 2 end boss. That way you won't accidentally click his hitbox and stop to attack. Oneshotted it in Hell.

I heard that there are only 18 different types of armor models ingame, and that those 18 sets look different on each class. However, unless you replay the game again with a different class, it won't matter. So, are there really only 18 different models for a specific class? Like, 18 different shoulder armor models, 18 different gauntlet models. And also, does anyone know how many unique types of weapon models you can get ahold of on 1 character? Like, the total number of unique weapon models for a class, as opposed to counting an item several times cause it looks different for each class.

There have been several massive RPG's this generation, and even the 3rd person ones probably had atleast 18 different sets of armor or more. But Diablo is a top down game based on loot itself, so why doesn't it have more?

My character atm:

Using Ice Armor(Frost nova proc), Frost nova (+dmg proc), Diamond skin (double absorb), Disintegrate (Volatility proc - dead mobs go BOOM), Chain Lighting (Electrocute or whatever) plus good old Blizzard (20% chance stun).

Aaaand I'm finally abandoning the bunker I've lived in since the launch of this game :3 It's been fun times indeed, but I need to actually start working + take a breather + sleep + eat now.

The plan was originally to get Barbarian and Wizard to 60 before I leave, but things changed a bit. Instead I've gotten a barbarian to 60 (cleared hell) and a monk to 52 (just got to act 2 hell).

GL HF everyone! Talk to ya'll later!

Isn't that more a fault on your own play approach rather than the game's?

I don't get what they were thinking with the daibo, Monk never uses the weapon, and there's a passive skill for dual wielding and none for using a staff.

If any lower level Barbarians are having issues with surviving on bosses, don't forget that Bash+Stun works wonders. Gives you Rage and you can spam it pretty quickly with a fast weapon. You can stun-lock most bosses very easily.

I feel bad for squishy characters that choose my flag to spawn on while I'm in combat. Lives have been lost.
