I didn't play the last two days and I thought i'd pull an all-nighter playing today only to find out that the lag-stuttering issues are back for me. Fuck my life.

So I just beat act III nightmare. I haven't gotten a single rare from any of the bosses in my nightmare run. Am I doing something wrong, or am I just really unlucky?

lvl 7 on guest pass, if i upgrade to full version, do i get to keep my character?

Holy hell... Hell mode is insane. Our party just ran into 2 elites that were literally impossible. One had invulnerable minions and shielding I think. The other had reflect damage and vampiric and minions. All 4 of us concentrating on it for a good 10+ minutes did almost nothing.

My 28 Barb. Don't all get jealous now.

almost through Act 1 nightmare with my DH. spent some time working on my gear, my crossbow is getting a bit old at this point. once I find a new one to go with, my dps should be over 1k.

Hell. No idea if I can actually hurt them, but their tag "Invincible" and the fact my spells didn't do anything to them makes me think otherwise.
I came across a champion in nightmare I couldnt take down. I would keep taking its health down but it would heal itself...really annoying. I guess my dps wasn't high enough to take it down fast enough and it was one of those teleporters.

I really need to read a faq or something. My character was only 400dps lvl 31 DH when I beat the game.

Did DH on my second playthrough of Normal and have a little over 1000+ dmg/sec at 31. The key is to get the most damaging bow you can and then pump up dex as a multiplier.

I've been spamming double shurikens and they've been able to clear everything in a couple of seconds. Everything.

I've got a Monk as well but he just doesn't have the AOE capacity of the Demon Hunter.

I just fought my toughest fight I've ever had in a video game.

A 25 minute long battle of epicness, I shit you not.

It's freakin impossible for me to play at the moment. Every 10 seconds of smooth 60fps gameplay I get 20 seconds of tortuous 5FPS broken shitplay.

I think i'll cry myself to sleep.

I GOT MY FIRST LEGENDARY (BOW)! Are these things really rare? Also is it me or is it not THAT strong. Novelty or something I'm missing?

Got it in act 2 nightmare.

Good lord what is wrong with Hell mode. I've joined about 4 games so far in Hell, and all of them have ended with us just getting wasted over and over by some elite mob. Then everyone just quits when they've had enough. I don't get it. I was doing pretty damn good in nightmare, and I upgraded my stuff since then. I'm still in Act 1, even, and that's just kicking everyone's ass.

Damn. I did Act 1 NM with a group, wasn't hard at all.

Tried to solo Act 2, get the first quest done... eh this ain't so bad. Then I run into several packs of magic enemies at once and it was harder than if I had to fight all the normal bosses at the same time. Holy shit. Considering just playing another class through norm since I'm not in the mood to group.

I was fighting Wasps that were Vampiric and Vortex AND a named big guy that was a waller AND like 10-15 adds that all had extra health. It was insane.

Also, is it just me or do the monsters in NM tend to ignore your pets and go right for you?

It seems like it to me as well. On normal I'd just run away and let my Templar round them up, but on NM they just stick right on my heels unless I teleport away/frost nova them.

Yeah people die a lot when I play with them. I am usually going around reviving a couple of people. And this is even in late Normal early Nightmare stuff.

Some people playing DH just stand there in front of mobs and just shoot stuff. I had to tell this one guy that he isn't a tank but he didn't listen.

I played another class on normal but decided to continue the game on my main file, which is a demon hunter. I've been solo'ing nightmare, no real issues at all so far. Have only died one time.

this is the legendary I got. Looks so cool but misses the mark stats wise. It is a bit better than it shows on that screen though. Wish I got one of the better ones :(

So what should I do with it?

Sell it. If what you have is better, there's no reason to hold onto it.

Find similar stat RW's in the AH, and that should give you some idea how much you'll get for it. Your bow may be better, but it may be a really good bow at whatever level it requires to wield. Just depends.

that's what I wanted to do but I wasn't sure if there some secret thing you can do with collecting them or whatever. Guess I'll sell it.

If there is, I don't know about it. Set items can be collected (into a set, obviously) but the same isn't really true of legendaries unless I'm horribly mistaken.

It's so weird to watch people just take the hits. Video games have conditioned me to try to dodge everything lol

I went through Act I Nightmare in co-op mode. Took no time at all. Then I started Act II . Wow. Getting wrecked.

I'm guessing I got carried a little during Act I. That, or, the mobs don't really scale that well when 4 players are in game. My guess is that the math works out, but if one guy tanks and maybe dies every now and then it becomes easier for the rest of the group to clear packs with AOE.

Can't really do that solo. Gonna have to try new gear, tactics, and build.

Anyone else feel the kind of dropped the ball on the music? I was listening to the CE soundtrack earlier today, and it's not bad, but I don't feel it's up to the level of the SC2 one, or some of the WoW tracks. All the other sound design (effects/ambiance/etc.) is fantastic as usual.

Part of what bothers me is that the soundtrack doesn't have an overarching overture. I feel like that's a big part of setting the mood, just having a long track ~7-10 minutes long that's used as the login music.

That's exactly what happened to me with my DH. Did Act 1 NM in a group, and then been doing Act 2 solo and I really have to change my build/tactics.

But he can dodge!

Most people don't seem to care about defense and avoiding damage. And it all bites them in the ass in Hell.

Nightmare seems easier soloing to me. Me and 2 other tried doing act 2 boss and got destroyed 3 times then I beat him solo

do you have it figured it out yet? I've been doing nightmare on solo with little to no problems, and I don't consider myself an elite player at all really.

My build is elemental arrow (lightning ball), rapid fire (reduced to 5 hatred) which I use for bosses and all special enemies, I use the companion (bat) but you can get by with using something else instead, and most importantly to any DH build is Smoke Screen. Basically the only times nightmare gets hard is when the special enemies come by, that's when you can easily resort to SS and rapid fire over and over and just when you're out of discipline use preperation once. Assuming you have good DPS it'll probably never get to that point where you need to refill it but you can do that, if you still don't have the kill then just kite and heal.

Apparently I'm the only player in North America trying to public co-op the final quest of Act 2 (in hell). I know this because it can't find any games.

FML.

I have a slow-centric build at the moment. You can check it our here:

Probably not ideal, but it's fairly good for not having all the runes unlocked yet. It's got a bit of synergy. Personally I think the Lighting Ball Elemental Arrow is kind of weak in comparison to the Frost Arrow I'm using, which is also good for single targets.

I was doing a sort of kooky thing before with cluster arrow as the primary hatred spender, which is kind of interesting, but won't really be viable at least until you take the passive that reduces the cost. It had super high concentrated AoE (also great for single target) burst damage though.

Meh, rock&rolled through nightmare with SS/prep dh.

Feel free to switch out the passive that nets you more critical & passive that translates at times critical his into 1 discipline.
Basically single target darts, multi chakram.
If you're target ed drop a caltrap or pop smoking screen.
Spam and try to kill.. Is anything left? Use smoke screen and desume attacks.
Is there something still? Pop preparation, get free heal 60% and all discipline, repop smoke and desume attack.
Still something? Jeeez lousy dps! One more smoke screen!

If you combine this build with a +5 or more maximum discipline you'll be' looking at
3 sec inv, 3sec inv, 3 sec inv
End of discipline
Pop preparation
3 sec inv, 3 sec inv, 3 sec inv.
Not enough? Aim for +10 discipline and get 8 smoke screen straight for 24 sec inv every 45 sec!
In your face monk!
Shadow power is there because when you want to be the guy you can just get emo black wings and leech full life (or you can rune to get 65% dmg reduction), but really if you play this correctly either put the mark that increase dmg on a target for boss/champion or whatever skill you feel like :D

Yep I ran into the same wall, taking a break and leveling my monk while I prepare to try again. People bail out on Hell mode, I have to agree now, the game is to easy on Normal and most of Nightmare. Its conditioned people to not dying.

They all think something is wrong when they hit Hell and cant steamroll anymore. You cant just outgear stuff on hell, you need some synergy and group support skills working in tandem to make the runs smooth. That hasnt clicked with alot of people in Hell yet.

I guess I should give up on the Asia server. Another queue...21 minutes. Couldn't play at all yesterday so I had to resort to the Americas server (queue wouldn't function, got server busy errors.)

Asia is a big place, since the continent of Australia probably plays on it too. I guess I should start my witch doctor over or something on the Americas server. Sucks, I got it to 27 in Act 3, will take awhile to replicate.

So damn. Last fight easily gave me more trouble than anything so far (but still fairly easy). Had to totally rethink all my strategies and change half my abilities. Satisfying.
