Well, obviously be vigilant in your auction purchasing. I always check for the absolute lowest price for any given item. But if there's something nice there you've spotted that you really like and there's no alternative, and you can afford it for what is to you a fairly trivial amount, go for it. 30k is relatively tiny, individual items sold at 200k+ is when it starts becoming truly amusing, and people still buy those.

If it takes you time to build up funds because your GF is low or you don't have decent items to sell or whatever, then you should go another route. But if you build money up easily it doesn't matter as much. With a high Gold Find you amass a hilarious amount of funds in short order.

Agreed. I've been searching for items with both gold find and magic find, in order to complement buying and selling on the auction house. It's pretty nice when blues drop more often than whites (or at least seem to). I'm not sure it affects yellows, but it seems like they drop more often.

Gold really stacks up quick with these items as well.

I'm gonna invest in some Gold Find myself. I don't need all these Dextirity gems

With high gold and magic find you have plenty of gold to buy what you want, and the increased magic drops help to feed this gold. Some of the buyout prices are way out of whack, so I've been selling things in droves, by being reasonable or even possibly under priced. It's too bad that 10 items is the max for the AH, it would be nice to dump it all at once.

I sell everything at the AH. When the 10 slots are full, I just sell it in-game and get rid of it. Or give it to my friends in the party if they think they could use it. It seems like I get more and more magic/rares as the difficulties increase.

Want to beat Beilal? Gotta learn how to move! Had to down him twice in a row today since the servers don't like me. Last one up and I rez both my teams >_<

They said I could become anything. So I picked the weakest class and turned her into a tank.

Near the end of Act 3 Nightmare I found a 2H crossbow to replace my 1Hers that upped my DPS from 1800 to 3000. Found some minor gear upgrades and finished Act 4 with ~3300 dps. Then I bought another 2H crossbow for 11k that puts me at 5100. Whee.

Yeah a good Magic Find will cause blues to drop almost every time and often more than whites even on Normal, and rares have more frequent chances to drop from Champion/Elite mobs and random sets of enemies, chests, barrels, etc. Combine selling those off with having a high Gold Find and you can gather a lot of money quickly. With a good GF stat most mobs become a spurting fountain of gold.

As pointed out earlier though you have to be wary when grouping with other players, as those values are averaged out across the group.

I'm on Nightmare Act II (the beginning) and wouldn't mind playing with some GAFers.

My tag is: Milly79#1339

Holy fuck! Is that thing perfectly rolled? Gonna buy 10.

Quick question: do + attack speed % bonuses on items stack, or is it just the highest bonus that takes effect at one time?

Quoting my question from the previous page. Does anyone know the answer?

So, I'm up to Act II on Hell and here's the current stats.

mvZOh.jpg

Still my 110% Magic Find build but my DPS is up to 3.2k which then goes up when I use Breath of Heaven because of the Blazing Wrath Rune. I've got a few pieces sitting in my inventory in case I need to squeeze a few hundred more points of damage out including the two legendaries I picked up. Both have great Monk stats, close to 90ish DEX/VIT a pop. The belt, amazingly, was an AH purchase for 40k. I was blown away someone was selling it for that cheap because it had such good stats.

Here's the interesting thing though, look at my Scoundrel's DPS. It's up to 1325 which is more than enough for him to help me take down Hell mobs very nicely. Pretty amazing how much damage these guys can get. I'm going to try with the Enchantress/Templar later as well and I hope I can get them up there.

I tried to play again but my PC says no :x

I should stop playing before this storm does some damage to my PC, and just when I finally have some free time to play ;_;

This storm came at the worst possible time for me >_<

My templar's DPS is...73.

Not that I need him to do anything but meat shield, but how do I improve that? His weapon is fine.. O_O

Anyone else lagging horribly on NA servers right now? I've logged out and back in three times, and I'm still over 300.

I asked earlier about not letting friends join your game but there's absolutely no way to appear offline or invisible is there?

One of my friends sends an invite literally every time I come online and I'm getting tired of telling him I want to solo.

lvl 58 11000DPS and getting rocked in hell ActIV

My friend Demon Hunter 54 has about 12k DPS in Act 1 Hell. So it might be a DPS problem....but he also scours the AH night and day for perfect items.

Is there an explanation for the 10 AH limit? I understand in the RMAH, but retarded I can't dump the 30 rares I have across my mule characters.

i put a sword on my templar with 113 DPS and he had 110 DPS listed under his F tab.

wut

The whole point is to not be able to dump rares like that and to discourage bots.

its a survivability problem actually

I know what the game says the skill does. I'm wondering how it stacks up in real play. The Hydra descriptions are all a little misleading because for most of them each head is firing separately, so Lightning Hydra ends up doing ~100% of your DPS to a single target. Venom Hydra leaves these little acid pools. I'm mainly wondering if those stack. Would a Venom Hydra totally outclass the Lightning Hydra vs the Act 2 boss, for example?

they do stack, it is indeed awesome.

My build right now.

So I'm absolutely in love with D3, but being a solo demon hunter in Inferno difficulty is quickly draining my patience. I'm being destroyed left and right and I'm just barely past the Skeleton King

The one real comparison I can make to WoW is simply how stupidly awful you can make your character look with some of this gear. Thank god for the invisibility dye

23 hour later, I beat the game with a 33 Wizard. Though I had to coop the game when
I had to fight Diablo.
I thought Nightmare was easy at the start, until I hit some blue and gold monsters, died a number of times on them. When do greens drop? Hell? I haven't seen those and orange obviously, but am guessing those don't drop until Inferno. Wallers are fucking annoying. :/

i tried it for a little but tbh it sucks. DH is far too fragile to be up in the mix. figure you would have a hard time in nightmare and it would be impossible in hell let alone infreno

Not having a hard time at all. The uniques and champions are easy to take down with impale and aoe, only trouble I have is with shielded, but then it just becomes vault away a sec, gain health from shadow power, vault back in and swing away. Sooo much fun.
It's a niche build that will never be optimal and probably very hard to work with on Hell/Inferno. Not that you can't have fun with it!

Axially, it is probably more survival than the demon hunter has and more damage per mob too. The up close aoe I can dish out is nuts.

Glad you guys took the bait though. Was wanting to post more details vs opinions.

So... I tried a new demon hunter build and it's Amazing

Basically, it's all built around attack speed-onhit effects. Not only do I keep stuff permenantly stunned/frozen/feared/whatever, but I build so much hatred I can spam cluster arrow. My speed currently is 2.53 attacks per second. Factor in that grenades can gain 8 hatred per attack + mortal enemy... fuck it's spam time.

Here's the builds

Boss (Aka never run outta hatred ever)

Once I get Loaded for Bear, and Ballistics... it's going to be nuts

I didn't realize that the Templar scaled with STR. It doesn't really matter because I'm a DPS machine, but it's nice to know.

Getting really close to 60. I can smell that Inferno loot.

Somehow, I have been making money by putting the relatively decent magic/rare drops on the auction house.

I thought all my auctions were expired by now, so I checked, but I was pleasantly surprised to see 50k waiting to be sent to my stash.

Finished the game.

If I was to rank the acts, it'd actually be in the order they came.

1 > 2 > 3 > 4

None of them are bad (though act 4 was disappointing compared to D2's act 4), I just really loved the setting and tone of act 1 above all others. The settings became less interesting to me as the game continued.

Final CG cutscene was rubbish, too.

At least Diablo was a challenging boss this time around. He was laughably easy in 1 and 2.

What difficulty are you in?

What difficulty are you in?

Hell. Lvl 51. I still get splatted if I'm stupid. But I think it's a really nice build group wise. The CC effects help the whole party... and being able to spam the highest hatred attack in the game is awesome. Once I get loaded for bear, I'll feel a lot better about damage though.

I'm also wearing items that give on hit stuff free/stun/fear.
