Check it's stats against other Gesture of Orpheus's on the AH. If it's higher than them, probably a lot. If it's in the middle of the pack, God knows. It's a Wizard staff with over a 100 to int, as well as increased attack speed. It seems great, but I'm not a Wizard, so take that with a grain of salt.
Interesting. Could be an OK build (I haven't tried it ha), but remember you can't switch builds at 60 if you want to keep your MF buff up!

This is what I'm running. The only thing that's up for grabs is the Marked for Death rune. I can't decide on Valley of Death, Grim Reaper, or Mortal Enemy.
Those stats do not represent the true dps upgrade you will get from them. Sogood.gifHell
Thanks, I had a boring run with like 2 blues and 0 yellows during 1h of playtime and all of the sudden that drops.
Thanks, will do.
I'd say grim for regular, mortal for bosses. Too much kiting for valley to be usable.
How are people enjoying their wizards?
I'm a Diablo noob and I rolled one as my first. Halfway through Act 1 and mostly enjoying it, but I hear some people say Wizards aren't great.
What's the verdict on their overall playability throughout the game?

Dh lv54, I played act2 hell killed every elite/champion pack with the worst mod waller/arcane/jailer/invincible/shield... perma smoke screen for the win + passive sharpshooter.

Curious to see how it works with my melee build, since I'm in the thick of enemies anyway.I'd say grim for regular, mortal for bosses. Too much kiting for valley to be usable.
The real game isn't until hell broIt's insane, for just 50k you could buy loot on the AH which makes nightmare a cakewalk. A total cakewalk. From now on I'll just try to behave like AH doesn't exist.![]()
4.7k dps on my wizard lvl53. Good or bad? I've already got a 300dps staff I'm finding it hard to get higher but my DH friend around the same level has so much more dps (~6k I think?)

DH will probably always have a raw dps advantage if equally geared. Dont be jealous of him though, your survivability is likely better than his.
23 hour later, I beat the game with a 33 Wizard. Though I had to coop the game whenI thought Nightmare was easy at the start, until I hit some blue and gold monsters, died a number of times on them. When do greens drop? Hell? I haven't seen those and orange obviously, but am guessing those don't drop until Inferno. Wallers are fucking annoying. :/I had to fight Diablo.
This is a great game to catch up on podcasts to, especially when soloing.
Yeah a good Magic Find will cause blues to drop almost every time and often more than whites even on Normal, and rares have more frequent chances to drop from Champion/Elite mobs and random sets of enemies, chests, barrels, etc. Combine selling those off with having a high Gold Find and you can gather a lot of money quickly. With a good GF stat most mobs become a spurting fountain of gold.
As pointed out earlier though you have to be wary when grouping with other players, as those values are averaged out across the group.
Valley is good for groups, definitely. If you KNOW you're going to be single-target solo, marked would benefit you.
Also, my skill build was wrong!

I don't know why, but I forgot to switch the Grenade Passive for Sharpshooter (which is AMAZING).
My friend's wizard almost never dies. The FEW times he dies are because we get swarmed by two packs of shitty elite/named mobs.
How high is my DPS for my level? I thought getting to 1000 was a big deal but some of the screenshots posted here made me doubt.
I'm currently in Act 1 of Nightmare.
Sharpshooter is really really bad. You pretty much only get 3% crit. Demon hunters crit pretty often, so that things going to reset like mad. I'd be surprised if it ever gets higher than 10% in fights. Even then... all it does is give you a single 50% damage increase for one hit... woo?
hmmmm...vit boost is a bit low but I think I'd take this...Bow level 47: 184.8 DPS +34-75 lightning dmg, +74 dex, +28 vit
Whose great idea was it to have elite mobs that literally cannot be beat. Literally.
Wizard has a lot of versatility, and I think at the moment is the best for soloing Inferno. How are people enjoying their wizards?

DH > wizard. Smoke Screen + preperation make it arguably the best class for inferno.Wizard has a lot of versatility, and I think at the moment is the best for soloing Inferno.
Just send me a message or invite and ill hop in and give it to you.hmmmm...vit boost is a bit low but I think I'd take this...
