Looks like I'll be spending $15 tonight. Autumn Dinasty, Virtua Tennis and Air Mail. Not to mention LostStar Tactics, which I got yesterday (it's awesome, buy it peeps) and Gratuitous Space Battles which I'm itching to buy. Oh, and I still haven't got the new Ascension expansion...

Guess I'll have my hands full for the next weeks. And an empty wallet.

Some quick impressions from my past weeks of iOS gaming:

- Mass Effect Infiltrator doesn't have the greatest presentation and feels rushed in some aspects except for the most important one: gameplay. The game has an absolutely awesome and pretty innovative flow for a touch-based iOS third person shooter. Damn it, if it was more polished and refined, I would *LOVE* this game and I would not delete it from my phone but it was still very compelling, lots of fun and easily held my attention to finish the whole thing. Other shooters should learn from how Iron Monkey did the controls and general flow of combat on this one.

- Ballistic remains an awesome and stylish take on the Geometry Wars-ish twin stick shooter genre.

- Infinity Field, while much less original than Ballistic since it flat-out copies so much from GW, is still one of the most awesome experiences on the platform to me when played on Insane. It may be a 'clone' but goddamn did they get the graphics, enemy AI and controls right. And it's hard to believe your eyes when you see the incredible chaos of Insane Mode run at a super-solid 60fps on sub-A5 devices. Ballistic won me over for a while and I still like it but Infinity Field remains king, it is one of my favorite games of all time on any platform, I enjoy Insane Mode soooo damn much.

I want to do a twist on hang man.

Dude, no one in here is trying to be a jerk, but that's not how games are made. An idea is worthless unless you, yourself can substantiate something from it. There aren't developers out there that buy ideas from people.

The only way to see your idea come to fruition is to code it yourself, or pay a huge amount of money to freelance coders.

Everyone has awesome ideas for games. There's no magic developer that turns those into a reality, though.

If you don't want to learn to code, you need to stop having ideas for games.

Everybody has ideas, and if someone can code them then they're going to be coding their own ideas, they don't need yours. Nobody will want to even hear your idea, because if it happens to be similar to something they're already making then it creates some legal issues, so even if you try and tell people your idea they won't listen.

I'm not trying to be a dick, this is just how life is. You either make it yourself or it doesn't get made. There isn't a code fairy to do it for you.
 
Air Mail and Slingshot Racing seem pretty cool from the games coming out tonight.

Virtua Tennis of course looks interesting, but I don't see the controls working very well.
 
I think I missed something. Is burnout crash going on sale, and is virtua tennis coming out?

Nope. Clicked on the redeem sign once, got an error, now it's disappeared and merely refreshing, or opening a new window, I can't seem to get it to pop back up.

Interesting night for iOS stuff. Empire of the Eclipse is finally coming out, Defender Chronicles II... I never played the first one. Thinking about giving this one a try.

MINI MOTOR RACING HD is FREE!

Always been tempted by this one, reviews raving on the game so who knows, might actually deliver

Post impressions if you get it boys, I'm stuck with no wifi so I can't dl it myself :/

I can't, had to stop playing when I was 18 because of a shoulder injury and now whenever I play for more than 1h I get a 1week-lasting and really painful inflammation. After I'd played since I was like 6, more or less competitively. :( Virtua Tennis is as close as it gets for me! --> Can't wait.

Where do you get the codes from Fruit Ninja? I'm on the page, but see no mention of codes, and this is the first time I've gotten on the site with my laptop.
Looks like the anniversary address takes me to the regular Fruit Ninja page.

I just downloaded it thanks to your mention of it. Real solid. Default controls suck! But switching to Tank controls seem to work good enough for me.

Also got winter edition trials extreme 2 and it's ok. Will probably delete it after playing with it a bit longer.
 
So who's gonna bite the bullet and let everyone know how Virtua Tennis is?

Also, just grabbed burnout crash. For a buck, it's worth seeing if it's any good.
