Does Lego still do coo, original stuff? I loved the aquanaught stuff growing up.

The original stuff is some of the coolest stuff. The Alien Conquest line from last year is aces, and many of us here love the new Monster Fighters line. But their Creator line, especially the modular building series, are just insanely awesome.

I think someone needs a hug.

Almost placed an order for that Excavator, but there's no way I'm paying $15 shipping + tax. No free shipping on orders over $100 or anything right now? Really? -_-

It is rare for free shipping it seems. And that sucks.

Actually, it is probably best for me that it isn't free shipping, as that makes me want to order more.

BTW: Good to see you back here, Nicoga. Seems you were gone for a long time. Or at least it felt like a long time.

( ̄▽ ̄) Wasn't really going for that look lol.

I dont think Jeremy Renner was either, but that is the hand that God dealt him.

I actually like Renner. He gets lots of undue hate. But he does have a douchebag look.

Seriously though, I think the shade of brown with the hair clashes a lil bit with the rest of the fig. The blonde just looks better on the fig, while the brown looks just a bit off. perhaps if the figure were a different shade.

If you are going for Clint Barton, as he has been portrayed in comics for the last 50 years, I would say blonde for sure.

Lol and yes, I know Clint's blonde in the comics. The blonde is growing on me so I'll probably stick with it though I dread having to look for another tennis player or the other figure.

Could try getting from Amazon or someplace similar? Might end up cheaper that way, and free shipping. Though I understand the potential guilty feeling of not ordering from S@H, especially if you are a Lego VIP member. But sometimes the savings elsewhere is worth missing out on the points.

So apparently there are real life evil LEGO masterminds.

He's not made of Lego, to be clear. Rather, he was busted putting fake, "sophisticated" bar codes on boxes of Lego sets at various Target stores, which allowed him to purchase them for far less than their real prices, and then turned around and sold them on eBay for a big profit. Among his scores were a $279 Millennium Falcon set that he bought for $49, and an Anakin Skywalker set normally listing for $90 than he got for $35.

escapist

Doesn't really sound as if he reall needed to do it,...

Its a great set though. Shame you're so far away, could have done you a deal on my 8421 mobile crane or 8275 bulldozer which I want to sell on. Paring back on technic to make space for our other Lego. Keeping 8043 for now though

After getting a few of the Avengers sets, I went on Bricklink to try to assemble (hoho) a custom Agent Coulson minifig and his I-don't-really-know-what-it-does gun. Sadly, there's no "receding hairline" piece that's really suitable, so I had to go with generic hair, but I think he turned out OK.

Forgive the crappy picture. My iPhone doesn't really take good shots in my poorly lit living room.

I really wish LEGO would put more effort into the bottom half of their figs, the paint jobs are usually non-existent or only on the front. For example it really bothers me that the hobbits do not have their feet showing O__O Hobbits NEVER wear shoes so the fact that their legs and feet are the same color is just wrong.

Talking about hairpieces... I need to find one resembling this:

This one seems closest.... but it also seems a bit over the top (too much hair)

Does LEGO gaf have any alternative suggestions? What is best hair for a clone trooper? :D

jointly ordering a complete Box of Series 7 Minifigs (and possibly backordering other series)

So I am thinking of ordering a complete box of 60 Minifigs for Series 7, they are then cheaper and I don't have to feel out the bags.
Now from all the Information we have, one gets 3 complete sets from a box and a few random extras.

So I am looking for 2 fellow LEGOgaf Members who would like to share in the endeavor.
I would order the complete box, sort out the 3 complete sets and we can decide what to do with the extras later (ie distribute them randomly among us or something like that)

We divide the cost of the order by three and well the other two have to additionally pay the shipping from me to them.
I am located in Germany, so you can roughly estimate how much the postage will cost you.
Residents of germany will inadvertently pay less postage than australians...

There is now a Box on sale at Bricklink for 100€+5€ postage, that means 35€ for 20 Minifigs (including I would hope a complete set) (+postage to you)
other sales range up to 120€

If many people are interested we might be able to split the whole thing up into regional joint order groups of three.

I would keep this post updated with people who are interested. so please indicate your location for possible grouping.

I do this with my coworkers. For the extras, we just handle the order selection like a fantasy draft:

1 2 3 3 2 1 1 2 3 3 2 1

Im from Germany and I reallly want the minifigs. I would like to join you in buying them.

If only they'd pay the same respect to some other figures -__- Damn their SW fan pandering. My hobbits need hairy, hobbit-flesh-colored feet.

Wish some AmeriGAF AFOLs wanted to do this! I really don't want to pay for shipping from Germany :)

If you're paying that much you should check out this bricklink store, in germany, EUR 29.50 for a complete set of 16 series 7 minifigs. I ordered some myself from Australia as they were the cheapest I could find anywhere.

That Monster Fighters train is packed with bricks that glow. If you like those kind of bricks for your MOC'ing and stuff, you'll like this set. It's still a pretty cool looking set in general, the locomotive is probably the coolest part of it. I'll try to get a couple shots of it up later.

Yeah, it looks like a fantastic set! So many PF options! :)

I'll make due with the lack of free shipping...I may just order it anyways, but if I can save on shipping, I can pick up the U400 in a month or so, too. It's hard to justify an extra $30-35 for shipping alone on two sets. There is a Lego store about 45 minutes away, but trying to find time to go is hard right now!

@PhoncipleBone Yeah, I sort of lurked for a bit. No sets were coming out that interested me at all. :/ But I've done a lot of research on Technic during that time, hence my latest posts! Im intrigued by all the cool gear boxes and "working" models you can create. While not as beautiful as System, Technic wins in the functionality department haha.

So while I wait til I can make a trip up to the Lego store, I used my $20 Amazon credit to grab 8067 and 9391. These should be a good Technic scratch until I get my chance to make a trip!

Repost because I need my fellow LEGO-Gaffers to help me ;)

Stolen from Reddit today. I'm impressed.

Here's my obligatory brag post:

So I bought the Mini Modulars last night. There's this thing about bag building - literally build the model in the bag (think ship in a bottle). Well the Mini Modulars come in five separate bags for each of the five buildings. I decided to try and bag build one of them.

I think I just beat LEGO.

I have no intention of building the other four like this. My brain hurts.

What a show off. I built the UCS Falcon in its box. I had to shake it until all the pieces clicked together proper. I'd post pics but its still in the box so you can't see it.

:P
