So what's the easiest way to play with other Gaffers? Just add people from the battle tag list?

I would send a messge or soemthing if you go about randomly adding/ friending.

ive turned down lots of friend request on d3 who were prolly finding me on the gaf list, but were people i had no idea who they were.

why am i going to fill my friend list with complete randoms. just tell me youre from gaf.

I'm using the dogs, Soul Harvest and the locust. I swapped out the fire bombs for the leaping spiders and that seems to work fairly well, but I just dont know what to expect for the later Acts.

Do you think this will work?

It should work, just try to keep your vitality high and use spirit walk for bosses and hard mobs. I died a lot until I found a crazy shield with 490 defense and 106 intelligence, then I just ran into the middle of the mobs, casted Soul Harvest, threw some locusts and spammed acid into their faces. For elites just make sure to summon the dogs when they are all clumped and make them explode into their faces, rinse and repeat if they're are too tough.

I mean...aside from the fact you didn't realize the big SC2 logo on the side.

Do you also feel stupid for posting a screenshot of the last boss dead? That does count as a spoiler.

Why do I even bother? Yeah I'm done with the story, but if I wasn't I'd be pissed. Why would you think that's okay to put up a screen shot of?

Oh shit you mean the eponymous evil creature, the last boss of the previous two games is also in this game?!

yeah a straight 900-1k DPS 1H even if it was blue is going to run at least a million, and probably more.

I've saved up 1.4m and I'm only about halfway to the weapon I want to take on act 2 effectively. Thankfully the 5NV+100% MF slap-on set+ jailer/butcher runs are usually quite profitable and I think I can get there in another couple of nights of farming.

Toma, you're negativity is bring me down man.

Yes, they have some things they can do to improve security like allowing (or requiring) case sensitive passwords. No one is defending that.

But this idea that Session IDs or some kind of SQL dump has resulted in people getting hacked is stupid and needs to stop.

Sorry, dude. Its just... annoying. But I think its genuinely great that you and others get to enjoy this game as it is now. Really. So please continue venturing forth into the depths of hell/Inferno whereas I'll retreat from this game after a measly 100 hours (compared to way more in D2) because of issues I cant put up with.

I wish you guys great fun though!

So if I was to post a screenshot of the last boss of Half Life 3 whenever it came out, you don't think I would be banned?

Plus it shows where the final boss is fought and who is there with you.

Thoughts on Inferno after being carried by a DH:
1) Melee classes still get wrecked and are 100% CD dependent (Past Act 1)

2) Stacking slows is actually fucking amazing
3) Insta kill boss attacks and 'enrage timers' are stupid.
4) Ranged adds can go eat a fat one

5) Stacking the shit out of buffs is useful
6) Stacking Crit and IAS is not helpful when you die in 2 hits from any mob past Act 1
7) A lot of skills shine a lot more in Inferno and I'm glad I'm able to swap between 10 of them trying to take down a boss, then swap again for the next fight after a few deaths
8) Repairing armor for 6k every 5 minutes is expensive.
9) Movement speed is my new savior

Just starting Act 2 inferno and I'm finding the above bolded to be especially true :/

Running ~7500 armor and ~400 resists self buffed and regular A2 mobs cut through it like butter. Also this skillset http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#bgXiQY!YXU!ZYYbcb

my damage stats are somewhere around 22% crit, 12% ias, and 8-9k dps which don't really matter when I die so fast lol :x

I could probably use more HP since I'm sitting around 27k, but I can't attack and generate enough spirit to heal the damage I take by doing so. Also have zero spirit regen for a very sad monk :<. I loved running http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aUidfQ!Yce!aZYZZZ pre-hell with a couple + spirit items for about 10-12 Spirit per second but having to play more defensively really kills that build lol.

Anyone this far have tips for progressing? like I really don't think more HP would do it, and I'm still working on stacking resists (hoping for good drops from butcher and AH stuff is either too expensive or wrong stats)

Also trying to decide between Emeralds and Amethysts in my weapons. Leaning towards the emeralds because that jumps me to 11k dps dual-wielding and even though ~200 hp per hit per amethyst is nice, I don't think it's enough to mitigate damages and if I'm only getting a couple hits in so I think the burst is better. (just to clarify I can DW in Act 1 inferno, but sword and boarding doesn't seem to provide any more practical survivability in Act 2)

I hope you'll be back for the Expansion, it'll probably be a good game by then. *lol*

been playing this for a while now, but still suffering error 3007, are others here hitting the same wall?

so far I have been practically steamrolling through on normal with my DH. It has been fun and I've been getting good loot, but damn, it seems that nearly every time I have nearly explored an entire map I get dropped, only to have to run it all again. This boosts my gold, xp, and gives me a chance to get better items, but it sucks. I feel like it unbalances my playthrough, as my character simply has more that it should.

I've tried all the fixes (direct modem connection, update router, open ports on my firewall, blah blah) to no avail. Fuck Blizzard for this. Build in a "buffer" so a network hiccup or whatever doesn't end the experience, or at least throw in a couple more checkpoints until you get it all ironed out. Fun game, but frustrating as hell :P

Because Half Lifes had the same bosses, both named Half Life? No. Bad comparison. It is the equivalent of spoiling that Master Chief is in a numbered Halo game.

Now your second point, that is a proper spoiler.

Any tips on how to make sure your auction house items will sell? How can you judge what the item you are selling is worth?

Utilize the search functionality that comes pre built into the auction house with filters that reflect the stats on the item that you're thinking about selling. Take a look at what's on there and for how long... and then price accordingly.

Ok! Lets play a game. Post your class time played so far since launch. I will go first.

Barbarian = 16 hours 2 mins.
Demon Hunter = 8 hours 25 mins.
Monk = 24 hours 41 mins.
Witch Doctor = 5 hours 11 mins.
Wizard = 16 hours 46 mins
Total = 70 hours 43 mins.

I have 34 hours in total.

Switching the whole spec up can be confusing, but fun!

Going into D3 pre release plenty of people had the assumption of who the final boss is, but it's always nice getting it confirmed and discovering if it is in fact that as the last boss on your own. Especially if you are new to Diablo series.

Sorry for asking this one more time, I just figure someone out there may have an answer for me: In the Auction house does anyone know why the bid time remaining is either under 30 minutes or at nearly 2 days? I see no middle ground.

400 resist? Crap... I thought I was doing good with my 200 at 50% reduction...

I honestly foresee a class action lawsuit at some point for people being unable to play singleplayer.
It says on the box that you need internet to play.

Also when you create your account you sign a TOS, servers have issues and you can't do shit about, you file a class action lawsuit and the only thing that will come out of it is nothing but wasted time.

Just wanted to thank Naito for all his help today :) Thank you soooooo much!

Hey! The name of this game is a spoiler!
But seriously, could you imagine the shitstorm if he wasn't in this game? Unfathomable

Are you looking for skill suggestions? Right now I'm about halfway through Act 2 on Hell. I'm level 56 and things are going pretty well.

Here's what I'm using for my build:
Witch Doctor

And now to admit something SUPER embarrassing. Before yesterday, I did not realize that I could choose any combination of skills. I basically had whatever the default was for each skill slot and just chose the best from the 3 or 4 skils available. Yes, feel free to laugh and mock me, I just thought that was how it worked.

Having said that, I had a much easier time of it now that I was able to setup skills the way I wanted them. I still am having trouble with some of the packs, but I think that's pretty much how it goes sometimes.

Whats unfathomable is the amount of people who got upset that people mentioned the final bsoses name as is the final boss was going to be Tony Danza or something.

they could instead of focused on legacy of diablo. That's also a very viable way.

so what does everyone think the D4 story will be?

a prequel or a completely new story, or "similar" story but a different perspective.

because it's possible "He who shall not be named" isnt in the next game.
angels go apeshit on you. They once wanted to destroy Sanctuary, maybe now they can.

What quest?

Act 2, quest 2, second part (lieutenant something or other). Farmed this up to 60, surprised no one is talking about it more. So fast/easy. It rivals the end of act 3/beginning of 4 farming as well I'd wager.

There's also a guaranteed event/yellow/resplendent chest/champion (or combination of all of those) as well at the end.

I am about half way through act 2 on Nightmare and enjoying the gameplay a lot more on this difficulty. My biggest complaint is that at least 25% of my deaths are coming at the hands of lag.

It took me a while to find a build I was comfortable with for my Wizard, but I think I've got one I like. I was completely ignoring the buff abilities, and it turns out they are basically essential as far as I can tell. I have a Disintegrate, Prism Diamond Armor, Sparkflint, Magic Weapon, Arcane Hydra build. I swap between regular old arcane bolt and Archon for bosses. Since I turned to this build things have been going MUCH easier. The +damage buffs are letting me blast through enemies way easier now. Before I was trying a kite based build and the damage just wasn't cutting it. My damage is at like 1450 when buffed now, but I think I should be able to get it ~1700 if I spent some time on the AH.

Anyway, I think I have 40 hours or so played total. All on my Wizard. I really took my time and explored every single nook and cranny on my first play through, so I wouldn't feel like I had to on subsequent ones.

I doubt that Diablo will stay dead. He survived getting his soulstone smashed (which you know, was supposed to kill them permanently). Just put it far enough in the future and anything is possible.

Well if Adria trying to resurrect Diablo isn't in the Expansion then I guess that would be an easy way to bring him or some other big bad back for D4.

But the real best possible story for D4 would be the misadventures of the hero and Covetous Shen! Awwww yeeeeah!

Same here. The seething fury I feel when I get killed because my boss timing was off because of lag can be felt all the way down to the pit of
Diablo's
stomach

It's probably been linked by now but my mind was blown yesterday when PA revealed that Blizzard game passwords are not case sensative.
Wow, you're right. That is pretty stupid. I still think people need to take some personal responsibility for their own security. Especially if Blizzard is that dumb:)
I tried that myself and as soon as I stopped using the correct capitalisation it asked for the authenticator again, I'll try switching it up again the next time I login to see whether it still resets.

where are you guys getting so much money...i'm barely running over 10k...

and where can you find stuff to upgrade the jeweler?
I get the bulk of my gold from exp farming on my hunter/wizard.

You can get it from Azmo runs which gives around 80k exp + gold per run, act 2 stone runs which gives around 40k exp + gold per run and the captain runs on act 2 which gives 50k exp + gold per run.

The 2 act 2 runs literally take a minute at max per run, do it for an hour and you will have tons of gold and exp (these are nightmare/hell numbers)

Can that quest be farmed for a lot of experience on all levels (1-60)?

Get to 60(Nephalem valor GF/MF +75% at max) and farm the shit out of hell act 3.
If you have really shitty gear do the first couple of missions a couple of time till you have like 100~250k and get a good weapon(s).

One act 3 hell run nets my about 150k~300k depending on gold drops(lots of 700+ gold drops) and vender mess more if i find some good AH rares.

At this point, I would be content with finally hearing the real explanation: Diablo (and Evil overall) represents an Archetype that cannot be killed. As long as there is fear and corruption in the world, demons will be able to pass over to this side, which allows Angels to come as well. Simple and clean. Hell, even use a line like "Diablo, how could you still exist?"
And then: "I do not know - I do not care. The thing that drives me is as old as the land I walk upon". Simple, mysterious and yet, understandable. Not this
Aiden/Adria/Leah/Uncle
bullshit, really. And really, Diablo is Doctor Doom? Haha. Friggin haha.

Game just became good (once) again!

Watch. It'll change when I go to act 2 again :3

Should give this a try i love act 3 because i can get a full nephalem stack pretty fast on my bard mostly in the beginning of chapter 2 im fully stacked.

It's really only viable in hell.

I farmed Act 2 Stone boss in normal and nightmare (till around 50-52) then farmed this, if you can do fast Azmo runs on nightmare that is your best option but soon as you can get to hell mode do this.

I tend to agree with this. I also think we shouldn't interact with bosses until we fight them. The ridiculous amount of dialogue you have with the act 3 boss defused any excitement that might have arisen when you face him.

Yes! I was just thinking about this last night as I made my way through Act IV - all the while
Diablo
taunting you. So cheesy.

Well you got that one portal, but I still have another! Oh you got that, too? Well it doesn't matter because I'm fucking DIABLO! Annnndddd in the red corner - Tyreal's former Lieutenant- former arch angel of heaven - and a blast from the past! Izzzzzuuuuaaaalll!

The real explanation is that Diablo is a comic book character and the title of the IP requires his existence.
