Usually reboots do the opposite of the series that preceded it.

Well, not necessarily, they just do things differently. Hulk wasn't really opposite of Incredible Hulk. And it's possible the next batman movie won't be a reboot. And even if it was, I don't see how there is any indication that they were going to copy modern batman stories.

Mind you, they probably will lift story elements, like all superheroes do. Lots of stuff was lifted from the Long Halloween with Dark Knight, but no, they're not likely to adapt a storyline in full, new or old.

Personally, I'm holding out hope for Batman Beyond.

I remember Batman Beyond. I was super pissed they cancelled The New Adventures for it but apparently there is a rabid fanbase of Beyonders. Has it aged well? Might check it out...

And yeah, Batman Beyond so needs to be given a second chance. A movie could easily do it. If fucking Catwoman got her own movie, there is no reason this shouldn't. They can even continue on from Nolan's Batman without risking ruining his trilogy.

Pretty much, the only good seats are in the back. I saw Matrix at Imax(front fucking row, ugh), and Transformers 2 at Imax(dead center, 2nd row from the back).

Transformers was amazing on a big screen.

Jeez, I've sat in the front section (not the front row, hell no) only once for a regular movie, I can't even imagine front row for domed IMAX.

No, Batman Begins wasn't shot with IMAX cameras so no scenes take up the full screen.

The Batman franchise reboot will probably retain the same dark brooding nature of the character whilst making it less grounded and 'realistic' so they can eventually build up to a Justice League Film. They would want to create a Batman universe in which Superman or Green Lantern could fit within. Whatever stage their plans may have been for such a movie, I can bet they've become more focused and determined after the success of The Avengers.

Hopefully the reboot doesn't take long. I wouldn't mind a new series at all. I enjoyed Burton's and Begins so far and I hope TDKR is a return for me.

So the only non-digital IMAX theater around here that'll probably be showing the movie is a dome screen in a museum. This sounds like it'd be a terrible way to watch a Hollywood movie. Am I correct in this assumption?

Dome screens are a disaster. Avoid at all costs.

Reboot Batman (without origins obviously) and stay in the current direction that Nolan made work so well or try to duplicate what Marvel has done by introducing some of the more fantastical elements to make the JL movie work?

Maybe I am being selfish but I don't want Batman to mix in the universe of aliens and superheroes that have "powers". Yes in the comics he is a part of the JL and there is a DC universe but I would love the next Batman to remain in its own world.

Unless they have RDJ doing Ironman and CG Hulk the JL movie will fail. Avengers is basically Ironman 3 & Friends.

Either or. One challenges Batman's intellect, the other challenges his morals. Both conflicts are equally interesting to me when done right. I don't dislike Bats being physically powerful either mind you, I just think intellectual battles are more interesting than physical ones in his case.

Well that's a fantastic idea. We can have Batman running around, punching Arabs and brown people in the face, capturing jihadist terrorists threatening Gotham, committing acts of child abuse, self-gratifyingly break people's faces, and narrating about Gotham is simultaneously his whore/love/mother.
