In case anyone was still considering Asura's Wrath but didn't want to take their chance on Zavvi's deal earlier this week then you might be interested to know that Shopto has now also knocked it down to £20, i'm diving in myself for better or for worse.

Now all I need is Rhythm Thief to finally fall.

You and me both mate. Is it actually going to happen?! I waited like this for Cave Story 3d, and we all know how that turned out. :(

I'm not expecting this ends up like Cave Story, i'm sure Rhythm Thief must have a far more vast amount of copies floating around out there, it's surely just a matter of time.
Plus it's got the whole made by Sega and published by Nintendo thing going.

Seems like nobody took my voucher for The Hut.
It has expired now.

I have another one: 3£ of 30£.
Quote to reveal.

Why should they drop the price on those? I mean MGS HD Collection has huge-ass content and it actually means just 10pounds for MGS2:Substance, 10pounds for MGS3, 10pounds for MGS:PW and you even get Metal Gear 1+2 for "free". Which I would consider a fair price. Same is true for Jak & Daxter HD Collection. Same goes for Sly Cooper. Which all don't drop in price.
£10 is what I consider a fair asking price for most brand new games, nevermind ports of games from nearly a decade ago :P

But fair enough about supply/demand. I guess these are unlikely to be reprinted and so will only go up in price, eventually?

The average development cost of a multiplatform current gen game is around 22 mio euros. If everyone would pay your fair asking price, that would mean each game would need to sell 1,8 million copies to stay profitable.

You´re driving the games industry into bankruptcy, man. ;-)

Doesn't include marketing, shipping, license fees and retailer costs. So 1,8 million isn't enough.

Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate (PS3) - 15pounds
Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate (360) - same

@ thehut.com

Note: thehut takes 1pounds for shipping to EU PER ORDER, which means if you order 2+ items, you will still only pay 1pound shipping.

Additional note: if anyone thinks this would go lower - Fallout 3 Ultimate had the same price. And then right after it got sold out. If you want this game, I would propose to buy it now.

PC version is £12.95, that's also a good price right?
I want to buy the PC version to mod the hell out of it for a change. Long time since I bought a PC retail game, can you link this one up to Steam? (I'm in Germany though)

Barely a deal, but UK 3DS owners might be interested to know that a seller at Play.com currently has Cave Story 3D in stock for £32.50. Not cheap, but at least it's available, and is more reasonable than anything on eBay.

Nice, but isn't there supposed to be a new version of Cave Story+ in 3D being released on the eShop?

Otherwise I would have jumped on that offer, especially when you consider its rarity.

Cave Story + doesn't have the graphical overhaul or the soundtrack. Really, I picked it up because it's rare.
Some people seem to prefer the original graphics, so I guess its a matter of personal opinion :/

Ideally I would like to get both, but currently Cave Story 3D is just a bit too pricey for me given that Cave Story+ is coming to eShop. I'll just have to hope that at some point in the future it gets a reprint, as happened with Okamiden.

Best get on the phone to Capcom and SEGA, then. I oft pre-order their games on PC for that price. Sonic Allstars Racing, Dead Rising 2...

I mean, occasionally a rare game comes along like Diablo or The Sims that I know I'll be playing for years to come. I pay £35 for those. Those are rare, though.

I pay what I think the product is worth. Their budgets are of no concern to me.

Unfortunately, I'll have to break my "what is the product worth?" rule in order to get these HD ports. It's especially offensive with those, as I'd personally argue they weren't worth more than £5, considering I've already bought them on PS2 ages ago.

The Capcom and SEGA's PC games you're referring too are probably cheap ports of the console versions. They are not even done by Capcom or SEGA, usually ported by small indie game studios, and cost a fraction of the original games development. More so they are often the inferior version of the game.

The HD version of SotC/ICO was not a simple upscaling job. They have remastered both games beautifully and put a lot of work and love into it.

But it's all a matter of personal appreciation ofcourse. I would personally never pay £35 for a The Sims game. Anyway, you are fully entitled to only paying £10 for any but those rare games you do appreciate more thoroughly. But if all gamers would follow your reasoning, the games industry as it is today, would only produce Android games.

I'm sure they appreciate receiving £10 from me more than me simply not buying the game at all.

So they've made a good port, basically. Again, I do already own the games so I'm a little hesitant to pay premium price for them, slightly-better textures or no.

Oh damn I just bought it for £10. Haha.

They do, but if everyone would just pay them £10 for their game, they would have to stop making games after that. :-) So your 'plan' would only work once.

How is £25 for the collection even a premium price? You would basically pay £12.5 for each game... and why would you even want to buy it and spend another £10, if you already own both games?

Because:
- Framerate
- Image Quality
- Have it in a form that is more likely to last

So you do appreciate a 'good port' job (as you called it) only you don't want to pay for it.

I think you're just going to have to show some more patience then. Cheapest I know the collection has been so far was around £17.

To think I bought it at £10 a week ago and still havn't touched it yet.

Probably worth £10. The battle system is still totally rubbish and the story is complete nonsense, but there's far less of the frustrating stuff that made XIII basically the worst game ever so it's alright to play through mindlessly while the radio's on or something.

And you can be level 99 in about five hours, which is fun.

It also has the hottest NPC ever, if you're into virtual women ;)

Honestly Shadow of the Collosus isn't worth it. The issues with Wander in the HD port really destroyed the game for me. On PS2 the game worked for me. On PS3 I was almost always cursing at the bosses and Wander for stumbling around like a moron, although I knew how to beat every single boss. Ico is probably worth it, but trying to do (and achieving) the speedrun trophy ruined that game as well for me as well.
