I'm moving from Alberta to BC at the end of the month, and I've got a good 12 hours sitting on my duff in my car.

Anyone got any recommendations for some comedy I can listen to on the way?

I've got the new George Carlin, Mitch Hedberg and Dane Cook. What am I missing?

Best boxset I've ever bought. Buy it and listen to the man everyone else has ripped off at least once in their career.

How is Lewis Black?

Brilliant. Pick them all up.

Rules of Enragement
Luther Burbank Performing Arts Centre Blues (if you only get one, get this one)
End of the Universe
The White Album
Carnegie Hall

Also, don't forget your Todd Barry (Medium Energy), your Steven Wright (I Have A Pony), your Dave Attell (Skanks For The Memories), your David Cross (as mentioned above, Shut Up You F***ing Baby), your Louis C.K., your Jim Gaffigan (Beyond The Pale), your Bill HIcks (all of them) and of course your Brian Regan.

Leave your Dane Cook, Denis Leary and Carlos Mencia at home please. Unless you enjoy hacks.

Some were mentioned already but here is my primo list:

dane cook - harmful if swallowed
dane cook - retaliation
dave attell - skanks for the memories
david cross - shut up you ****ing baby!
david cross - the pride is back
george carlin - complaints and grievances
jerry seinfeld - i'm telling you for the last time
lewis black - rules of enragement
lewis black - the end of the universe
lewis black - the white album

Everything.

And I gotta second Bill Hicks.

For a slightly less super mainstream thing, Daniel Tosh ain't bad at all.

DAVE ATTEL- SKANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!!

"Remember guys... if you're going to shave your pubes, shave your whole body. Otherwise it'll look like a garbage fire broke out on your nutsack."

"I had a hernia once. Whenever you say that people are like, "oh, did you lift something too heavy?" Well lifting isn't the only way you can get a hernia people! Did you also know you can get one from trying to take a dump too fast? You can! There I was, sitting on the john, when I hear the theme music from the Simpsons come on in the other room. So I'm sitting here trying to Dukes of Hazzard this thing out of me... up on one side, nutsack in the water, hands on the walls, and then I feel a tug..."

:lol

Patton Oswalt: Feelin' Kinda Patton.
Matt Besser: May I Help You Dumbass.

Both available on the internet much more easily than in stores (google that ish), both will undoubtedly get you killed when you drive off the road "in stitches".

Henry Rollins

I think I own like 90% of Rollins' spoken stuff, but I dunno if it would count as comedy... sometimes he goes off on a tangent about racism or homophobia or whatever, and it feels more like a lecture than something to laugh at. Not at all bad, but "comedy"? Not sure.

I don't know what albums they're on, but if you want some good lesser-known George Carlin stuff, get the "Airline Announcements" bit and the "Driving" act.

"Live free or.... DIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!" :lol

I don't know if he released any albums, but Kevin James is one of my favorite standups. Seen him twice at Westbury Music Fair/North Fork Theater

Edit: Was just looking through my website files, and found my standup acts still on there, if you want to, you're certainly welcome to have a listen.

"I had an ant farm once. Those ****ers don't grow shit!"
"Plus, if I ripped off your legs, you would look like snowmen."

Mitch All Together is awesome. Strategic Grill Locations has its moments, but can't touch his second album, where he is just firing on all cylinders, and has the audience in the palm of his hand.

Brian Regan Live is an all-time favorite of mine, as is Bill Cosby's Himself.

How can people recommend Dane Cook? What the **** is wrong with you people?
The only nice thing I'll say about Dane Cook is that if I were him, I would be getting a lot more vag.

Dane Cook is the antidote of funny. I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell the guy got so ****ing popular. He's as shitty as Larry the Cable Guy and Dat Phan. Honestly, I think I'd rather listen to Carrot Top.

Subscribe to The Ricky Gervais Show at Audible.com and burn the episodes to disc. Cost = about ten or fifteen bucks for several hours of top-notch British comedy.

by the time your trip is done, you WILL understand the differences between white people and black people.

D.L. Hughley is the least funny comedian I've ever seen on TV (or in theaters, thanks to Kings of Comedy). If you want racial humor, stick with Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle.

Shit, why bother with actual comedy? Just download a years worth of old loveline episodes with Adam Carolla. I can list specific good nights if you want. Dad in Israel, height of a door, etc.
