How would you live your life if you didn't have to work?

Imagine money is no object: no, you can't buy 6 casinos and automatically become a billionaire real estate tycoon.

But you can buy a house anywhere and you can spend your days doing whatever you want. If you want to, you can take real estate classes. Or art classes. Or travel all the time. Or you can work if you want to. What would you do?

Would you have a family? Where would you live? What would you guys do with your time? How would you and they shape your lives?

I'm honestly interested.

Motorsports and start playing gigs with decent musical equipment. Couldn't care less about having a family.

I'd buy a house in San Francisco, New York, Seattle and an attic spot in Paris.

I'd wake up, work out for 3 hours, work on my art and projects for the bulk of the day or split off for the day and just go meet people. Doesn't matter who, just go out and meet people.

Then I'd come home and write, put on a record and go to bed.

That's how I'd live.

I like you even more.

I'd still want to do creative things like creating worlds and making stories and films and music and whatnot. Creativity is the best shit anyone can have son.

I'd CrossFit in the morning, train BJJ after lunch, have a grill out every day with the family for dinner, and then brew/drink craft beer every night.

relax and be creative with the many ideas that I have.

Help the unfortunate and become a philanthropist
Give some money to charities and make my own charity.
Build a nice house.... Ever since my Father moved from the UK, we have never owned a house. :(
Work and help fund research that I am interested in.
Employ folks to make video games, movies and inventions based on my ideas.
Safe a lot for my future generation and make all of my friends and loved ones rich like me.
Also traveling will be nice as well. I would like to visit UK, Turkey, Australia, and few other places around the world.

Money is not an object? I'd travel all around the world. Invent shit. Play video games. Go to space.

Not sure where i'd end up living though... I mean, when you're not held down by contractual/monetary obligations and can travel anywhere and everywhere, why would you even have a home?

I'd buy George Lucas studios and make Star Wars Episode 7 8 and 9. Would also travel the world, check out all the historic sites.

House on Maui, walk around there and have games and stuff shipped to me. Berzerk arcade cabinet, etc. A simple life.

I would concentrate in spending my days trying to learn more about Computer Science and programming, and in the process implement all the ideas that I've had for the past decade.

Eventually, I want to do this, but having a day job, and in the future probably a family is going to make this take longer than I would like.

edit: Also, travel the world with my bicycle.

Enroll myself in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kung fu, tai chi, ballroom dance, violin, voice, and gun classes, once or twice a week for each. Learn how to fly a plane.

Have a family.

I'd buy a house somewhere on the ocean, preferably a place that still has living coral reefs. My days would start with a nice wake and bake, cooking breakfast, and then loading up my 32 foot boat with dive and fishing gear.

I'd drive a few miles off the coast, drop anchor, put on some tunes on a sweet sound system, have another smoke, and dive down into the depths below and just exist for a few hours in my favorite place in the world. Few things are as serene as the quiet expanse of the ocean and the vista of a coral reef spreading out before you.

I'd do some fishing after I came up (with a fresh pineapple waiting on the surface, nothing better than pineapple after a dive) and head back to my house with some fresh caught snapper and flounder.

And I'd be perfectly content doing that for the rest of my days, as long as my house was also filled with books (fuck it, I'll just buy a kindle) and maybe a gaming computer.

See the world. And while I am not traveling I would be taking all kinds of classes. From Krav Maga, auto racing, pilot, cooking, and all that.

(I can still do all that, but it's limited with the time I spend at work)

I'd love to say that I would just travel a lot to cool, unique places and pick up a few extreme sports just for kicks.

But I'd probably just smoke weed all day.

I'd have all the time in the world to read, play, watch and listen to everything I can get my hands on, and that would really be enough to fill my time, I'd never be bored. But I'd have to do something a little more active... I doubt I'd travel much, traveling annoys me, but I'd probably go back to school, more than once. Just to learn for pleasure, no worries about a future career hanging in the balance.

the reason these billionaires are still having jobs has gotta be because they would be bored out of their ass after a while

thats the only reason i can think of why there are countless billionaires who still have jobs

if i ever meet a billionaire whos doing shit id seriosuly wanna ask

"you can bay ANYTHING your heart desires......you can do ANYTHING your heart desires...from now on untill the end of your days

soooo....WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SITTING IN BOARDROOM MEETINGS PLAYING CEO day in and day out!!!!

this crap just blows my mind

Well I'd go to a lot more Michigan football and basketball games.

For the most part though I'd just lay around getting baked, watching TV, and playing Duty.

Traveling goes without saying.

I would buy a house or condo in San Francisco, either Soma or The Dogpatch, maybe something really nice in the Mission by Dolores park.

Would have a bunch of really nice single speeds and fixies. Bike around Europe with some friends on fixed geared bikes.

Probably become a mixologist, take dancing lessons, and rock climb alot. During the summers do river rafting and river kayaking, and during winters snowboard. Brew my own beer.

More realistically I would ride my bike around the Mission, hang out at Dolores park, and go to hella Gigantes games. That would be pure bliss.

Indulge. Where would you travel to? What kind of classes? For your own benefit or because you want to contribute something to the world?
I think in another life I could have been a linguist. I like languages and I like learning about them on my own time. More to the point, I like learning in general. I'd love to learn more about astronomy and biology.

As for traveling, Europe is a must; France, Germany, Sweden, etc. Also, New Zealand, South Africa and Brazil.

I'd probably actually go out and get a job. Or become a teacher(not saying being a teacher isn't a job). Or an archaeologist and explore unexplored areas.

I would do something, because the worthlessness I would feel as my days tick by would become terrifying.

Write books.

Spend all my time doting on my kid.

Basically what I do now, except without the constant, maddening job searching.

I would still work. Just, at things that interested me, like writing, rather than things I could be well-paid for.

nothing changes. i still come home and put my head in books until bed. i still study math every day. i want to reach the endgame.

no traveling, no family, few friends, limited disposable entertainment. strict diet and exercise regime.

Buy my way into Valve. Work there for free.

Golf.

Biking trips.

Badminton.

Learn Japanese.

Learn piano, guitar, drums.

I wouldn't have enough time. :(

jiujitsu. Jiutjitsu. Jiujitsu. Eat. Nap. Play video games. Travel. Date.
