The iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Gaming |Thread4| NOT Doomed

Spent more time with O2Jam S. Does the judgement window feel a bit loose to anyone else? It's not on Cytus's level but I still shouldn't be able to do stuff like this (even knowing this is the easiest of three difficulties... it's a grind to unlock the other two and judging by the leaderboards, less than 10 people have done so so far):

Still on the fence about it. How's the quantity of songs?

With iOS5 running so poorly on my iPad 1 I'm neither surprised nor angry, really.

Also, I've spent the last 2 days playing Kingdom Rush. Is there a similar game nearly this awesome out there that I'm not aware of? It's completely spoiled me on the entire TD genre because of how polished and complete it is.

I'd imagine that Apple would continue to support the older hardware they're currently selling -- ie, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 2.

Holy shit. 338 levels made in less than 4 days!! Who of you guys have created a level in Ichi?

Man I keep looking at The Village screenshots - what can I play to satisfy my urges to play it?

Need to find some RPG that I havent played / that isn't gamevil garbage. Don't feel like playing Adventure Bar Story or Dungeon Village at the moment.

Heroes vs Monsters was pretty fun.

Anyone playing Slingshot Racer? What's the power box? Some of the tracks has some electric white ball thingy but I don't know what to do with it and I can't 3 star it.

There's an Adventure Time game on the Appstore called Adventure Time - Legends of Ooo: Big Hollow Princess. It's a simplistic point-and-click adventure game and pretty fun. I haven't played much yet but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot to it. It's $.99

There is also a Regular Show game called Regular Show - Nightmare-athon. You take out waves of zombies using tilt controls and it's broken up into rounds that last a minute each. More challenging than the Adventure Time game but still on the easy side. It's also $.99

I was all excited to download that Adventure Time game and show it to my kids (who love the show).

They informed me that they played it a long time ago on the Cartoon Network website.

We'll be tormenting you with more artwork from The village today :D

So, Project 83113 is like a platformer, endless runner, bullet hell shooter all in one?! I am loving it, but the difficulty level just stepped up a notch, and I'm noticing slowdown on my iPad 1. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone though.

Get Gridrunner for your iCade, it's amazing with the stick and feels like a brilliant old school shooter on the cab. My most-played iCade game, aside from iMame.

Picked up an iCade this weekend after looking through the compatibility list. I'm really enjoying it. Perfect size to sit on the breakfast bar and blast out some Minter goodness before work. I'd love to see the Cave shooters made compatible but I don't hold out any hope. Air Attack HD will have to do for now.

Also grabbed an Apple TV to augment my iOS gaming. Airplay stuff is surprisingly smooth and responsive so far (though I've predominantly been using it to stream media). Being able to start a game on my iPhone and then get home and carry on with the iPad (using the TV where applicable) is priceless. Reminds me of my PSP-Go but far better looking and way more convenient.

LTTP: Monsters ate my condo is sooooo gooooooood.
Agreed. I actually feel guilty for overlooking it for so long and then getting it free.

Crud. Honestly it might just be because people were talking about a lack of pokemon / AC style games when you posted it, but still excited to see.

Is the game still really early in development?

Um, wait. Holy shit. Apple TV is CHEAP? Why have I not known this before?

Can you play all games on your TV using it with your iPhone, or only some?
Probably only get one if it could be jailbroken, though.

If you have an iPhone 4S or an iPad 3 you can mirror your device to the screen and play all games. My iPhone 4 does Airplay for music and videos but not mirroring*. Not sure if Airplay games work normally on the iPhone 4 because so far, I've only been playing on the iPad.

As I understand it, it can be jailbroken. Not 100% on that though as I don't jailbreak my stuff.

*(Mirroring = 1:1 phone to TV. Airplay games = Action on TV, HUD / Controls on iPad / iPhone).

Cheers for that, Dave. Have a 4S, so that could be a great little novelty or something, to blast Jetpack Joyride and Pinball Arcade on.

And I've had a look, the ATV 3 can't be jailbroken yet... but with the features it already has (shit, it's worth a hundo to me just to play my phone on a TV) it's mostly a non-issue.

Yes, very early. But we work hard and fast :)

ichi is great, picked it up last night, fits the platform so well, will review and 5 star it later on iTunes.
You sir, deserve 5 stars!

I've been trying to do a bit of backlog clearing before I download anything that isn't free again but Galaxy on Fire 2 is once more down to 0.99, I'll finally give in.

Galaxy on Fire 2 is simply fantastic. I'm so glad I listened to GeekyDad and bought it.

Ichi is also really great. Satisfyingly difficult - not too hard, but not too easy.

Oh and I have to say thanks to thewesker for the free Where's My Water code. Very solid game - I now understand why everyone loves it.

Galaxy on Fire 2 worth getting for a buck if I have a 4S? I know I'm missing a little graphical fidelity, but for a buck... it'd have to be worth it, yeah?

Just as a warning, for gaming there is a bit of latency when streaming content wirelessly from your phone to an Apple TV. If you're willing to play on a leash this can be resolved by using the Digital AV Adapter (Apple's name for HDMI, apparently) - the HDMI connection should be identical to what you get with the Apple TV, minus the latency.

I pretty much played Galaxy On Fire 2 all weekend. I think I'm around 8 hours in. I finished the main story pretty quickly (~4 hours), but the expansion seems to be pretty decent in length.

Although, there was one part in the expansion that really annoyed me, so much I stopped playing it. I'll still go back to it soon, but man, it sucks. I won't spoil it for anyone though.

I bought Dungeon Village last night and I couldn't put it down for about two hours. Awesome game, but I keep getting crazy bits of slowdown whenever new messages pop up(level up, costs payed, new quest, etc). Anyone else experience this? Im playing on iPhone 4 btw.

Worms 2 was updated with async multiplayer. It's also on sale right now.

Awesome. Worms is actually perfect for that kind of multiplayer. Remember playing the second game on DS, and sometimes it would seem like folks went off to take a dump or something, they would take so long to take their turn.

Definitely got my money's worth and then some. Great game. For a buck, you're ripping them off.

Playing on a iPhone 4 too - no slowdowns whatsoever.
