Dokuro will have English on the Asian release?

Ragnarok Oddyssey also listed as being English/Chinese

Can't be right.... but PA is usually good about this kind of stuff.

Ragnarok is indeed getting an English/Chinese Asian release. However, if you notice on the Dokuro listing the language is only set for Japanese.

This happens to me too, and it's pretty frustrating. I'd probably play the game twice as much if this weren't an issue. Am I just ignorant in thinking it's unacceptable to not have a solid multiplayer component, even on a handheld, in 2012?

I wouldn't think so. I mean, Vita is closer in online functionality to XBL Gold than PSN on PS3, and yet we aren't really seeing the fruits of that labor yet. It's a little frustrating. I'm sure it will come, but games like Burning Skies (which, for all intents and purposes, is an above average game) makes you lose a little hope. It's doing less online multiplayer wise than Resistance Retribution for PSP. That game was more feature rich in online functionality than Burning Skies was, and that's just kind of sad.

Finally picked up a Vita with the Amazon deal. Excited for Persona and Assassins Creed, but what else shoud I be picking up?

Mutant Blobs Attack. $7.99. Great platformer. Everyone should have it. Super Stardust Delta is really good, too. If you like billiards, Hustle Kinds is awesome, and is free if you have the PS3 version. Wipeout 2048 is a blast, Uncharted GA is great IMO (although opinion is a little more mixed on that one). There's some fantastic fighters on there too (Mortal Kombat being particularly content-rich). Gravity Rush is coming out tomorrow.

Not sure if anyone posted this here or not but the Sony Style store in the Topanga Plaza Mall in Woodland Hills, CA is closing. They are having a close out sale and Vita games are all 50% off. Some games were as cheap as $10. I picked up around 11 games with each averaging about $10-$20 a pop.

They are discounting the Vita handhelds 15% as well. They have both the wifi and 3G/wifi versions.

Yeah, I saw. I guess they'll correct the title sometime.
Is the Asian version coming out sooner than US?

Seems like it, although Siliconera reports that the release is in July. Either way, I hope it comes out before I leave China so I don't have to wait for international shipping.

Oh crap I live like 5 min away, when did you go??

Nice. :) P4 can't come soon enough. In the meantime, I've heard good things about Gravity Rush, and Rayman is great on any system if you don't already have it. Beyond that, do you/did you have a PSP?

Okay... I have a kinda strange request here. I love playing social/sim farming games on my iPhone like Magic Tree, Farm Story, etc.

I know these games got some inspiration from the Harvest Moon games. I've always wanted to play one so I tried the SNES original a while back and couldn't get into it. I want to try again with one of the newer titles and I noticed there are three available on Vita. Innocent Life, Hero of Leaf Valley, and Boy & Girl. Are these streamlined and/or easier to pick up than the SNES one? Which, if any, would be good for someone like me that just wants to relax and play?

I know that feel. I have a thing for those freemium games on iPhone, most notably Trade/Battle Nations and, for a long time, Zombie Farm. I bought Boy and Girl based on it being a "classic" and found it really hard to get into. Kind of wish I'd tried out the actual 3D one or Innocent Life instead.

Yeah, but here's something that annoys me about EA. They say they'll determine whether to support Vita (at least with Madden) by how well Madden 13 sells, yet they are making the Vita game a port of the iOS version! That just drives me insane! I mean, how dumb can a company be?! That's practically signing it's own death warrant.

Here's to hoping NFS is a proper version (not just for sales sake, but because I would love to have a good NFS game by Criterion on Vita).

If this is true I'm gonna fucking boycott EA. Impossible that "The Show" is a near launch title and other than framerate issues during cutscenes is awesome, and Madden has an entire year and can't fucking bring a better version to Vita. I know they are using the new "impact engine" AKA poor man's Euphoria for consoles, but they can simply NCAA that bitch and spice up last year's version for the Vita. Seriously fuck you EA if this is true.

I enjoyed both thoroughly. Both are excellent. Buy both.

Motorstorm has 2 Festival DLCs available too for a few euro each. Both add new tracks and races, though I felt they were easier to beat than the originals. I don't know if this was because I became "teh leetz0r" at the game or if they were genuinely easier. Knowing how good I am at games I suggest the latter lol.

If anyone wants to add me with a Vita (but also a PS3 lol) my PSN username is the same as my NeoGaf username.
Would be nice to have some extra chaps to look up activities and such like.

I hope they bring over that activity menu to the PS4, it is a shame we didn't get it on the PS3 that combined both platforms, it would have been pretty neat to see, it is a shame it is hidden away in Near.

Wasn't a $50 mail in rebate when you buy a vita announced? I swear it was talked about just before E3 - something about "it's too early for a price drop, but we'll give a $50 mail in rebate until July 30th." I have a friend who is interested in buy the vita, but now I can't find the rebate information! Can anyone help?

Amazon, Best Buy, and Target are offering $50 gift certificates to their stores when you purchase a Vita right now, if that helps.

There is $50 credit with Vita purchase at some retailers this week.

So I also took the plunge and now I'm a happy owner of a brand new PS Vita. :)
Strangely enough, all the talk about Sony neglecting the Vita during E3 and so on kind of made me want one even more (also helps that I will be travelling a lot during the next few months). Just thought I'd add some of my impressions...

So far I've been spending quite some time with my digital PSP games (I also own a PSP Go), in particular Gran Turismo. The nice big screen and the analog sticks really make this a whole new experience. If Sony somehow managed to add Near support for the PSP games (simply to see what everyone else is playing) it would be perfect. I guess even if the Vita didn't actually have any real Vita games, it would still be an amazing handheld with tons of great games.

I've played a couple of Vita demos and they're all pretty slick. Bought Rayman Origins which is obviously sublime, and can't wait for tonight's double release combo of MGS HD and Gravity Rush.

So yeah, right now I don't care if the Vita is dying or not. I'm loving it :)

Fake edit: my friends list is a bit barren, so feel free to add me as "the_korben_CAN"

Three words for you: Mutant Blobs Attack.

Happy Gravity Rush day!

Question, since I don't have a PSN account: Should I just go ahead and make an account on Sony's site or should I make the account when I first start up the Vita?

I'm playing through Innocent Life right now.. It's still fun in an OCD kind of way, but I'm finding the the world/NPCs a little dull and the non-farming mini games pretty lacking. Not nearly as deep as I thought it would be.

Also, the island is in trouble because people have all switched over to automatic farms and forsaken their ties with the earth... so the solution is to build a robot farmer with a robot assistant and automatic milking/shearing/egg collecting equipment so that the nature spirits will forgive us?

Can anyone recommend a vita/psp game in this style that has a bit more depth to it?

(or on a slightly different note, a good vita/psp game like Wizardry?)

Really happy to hear from all the new Vita owners! I was worried people would be discouraged after E3.

Happy Gravity Rush day. Tap the Apple.

Will add you tonight, always good to have more friends.

Think with the sale that it's time to pick up Escape Plan, already have mutant blobs and that was more than worth the full price.

Escape Plan is worth it, in my opinion. I mean it's like Lemmings + Ghastlycrumb Tinies, with a laugh track. Also makes good use of the backpad.

There are other Harvest Moon games on PSP.

For you Wizardry question, look up some info on Class of Heroes. It's made by the same studio who makes the current Wizardry games.
