I'm still using the default Nvidia set as I haven't experienced issues although my card is considered old.

i agree. they should add an X button to the right of the screen. Too late for that though.

The idea is that you don't close them. After a while they become suspended in memory with low usage.

You can open the bar with opened apps (the one on the left side of the screen) and middle-click the app's thumbnail.

Or right-click, and close will show up.

MS designed them not to be 'closed' though.

Apps use 0% CPU when idling as they're set in a frozen state.

FYI to anyone gaming on their Windows 8 PC/partition, I'm getting "battlefield3.exe has stopped working" errors every three matches or so with the W8 64bit 302.80 beta drivers that I was NOT getting with the most recent W7 64bit ones.

I'm totally sold on the Lenovo Yoga, I just need to see some real life tests of battery life/performance to seal the deal. And the price needs to be below $1,200 (USD). Let's see what, if anything, this evenings conference has to say about what I'll be purchasing.

(I still think it's just an Xbox Video event that won't be that amazing. I mean, it's in LA, the location makes it seem like a movie/TV announcement)

Windows 7 libraries are a really useful feature of Windows 7, however unfortunately they arrive in a slighly cut-down form out of the box. Microsoft decided against exposing some really useful capabilities to users, like adding network locations, pretty much the first thing I tried to do.

Luckily, you can add network locations (and any other un-indexed locations), but it must be done programatically. MS supply a command line utility slutil.exe, candidate for the worst named executable in history.

The Win7 Library Tool tool will add functionality to Windows 7 libraries that is not made available in Windows out-of-the-box.
Here are some key features of "Win7 Library Tool":

· Add network (UNC or mapped drive) and any other un-indexed folders to libraries.
· Backup library configuration, such that a saved set of libraries can be instantly restored at any point (like after a re-install of the OS or for transfer between multiple computers).
· Create a mirror of all libraries (using symbolic links) in [SystemDrive]:\libraries. This means you can reference all your files using a much shorter path, and also provides another entry-point to your files in many places in the Operating System (e.g. file open/save dialogs).
· Change a library’s icon.

I'm conflicted whether I need backwards compatibility.

To me, desktop games are useless in a portable form factor.
