Would pay up to $2k, if there's the power and battery life to back it up.

Is it telling that the two major factors that will ultimately make or break this thing, battery and price, are left out?
To compete with others ARM talent, not everyone want full fledge PC. My wife just want it for Internet and light Office and email.I don't really understand the point of the RT model. Why even bother with it? The Pro version is the real hotness.
Unless the RT model is REALLY cheap.
The one thing that Apple gets right with (most of) their product announcements is that you can start ordering the item immediately after the announcement. Microsoft shouldn't be announcing this with no price or way to purchase. It makes it seem like the product might not be done yet; it's just a tech demo. At least they're doing hands-on demos.
I agree.I think the RT will be the same as the cheapest iPad and the Pro the same as the cheapest Macbook Air. Competitive without being a ridiculous deal.
disappointed @ no price, but the hype and secrecy was justified imo.
I rate the event an A.
Too many positive posts. Anticitizen One will not be happy.

So the pro one is going to go ultrabook pricing. About 1000 or more then i assume.
Lol watch they get it out sometime next year when they run into the iPad 4 which has the stand and cover.
I'm late....What did the 5:20 card mean?
See, if this was Apple they would have announced that you can buy it right now and my credit card would have been charged already. Microsoft fail.

I don't get it I guess, they are hoping Office is enough to get people to buy a MS tablet with no existing app support. It also looks big, heavy and expensive. Does anyone give a crap about Office anymore, is it enough of a pull to sell anything? I don't even use it on my laptop, let alone a tablet.
MS is struggling to stay relevant in a Apple/Google world. Who makes the hardware?
So this thing is out in OCTOBER? 4 months away... I'll have lost interest by thenThe one thing that Apple gets right with (most of) their product announcements is that you can start ordering the item immediately after the announcement. Google is about to slay this with a $200 Nexus 7 tablet next week.
What's the fucking point of announcing a product that won't be released til next year now? After the iPad 3 and Macbook Air refresh all launch and every spends their fucking money on those?
Very telling.
Have they announced the resolution of the 10.6" screen?
