That in itself is impressive, yes. MS becoming more Apple-like? It couldn't hurt.I'm still in shock that Microsoft kept this from leaking

Will this tablet really have the beef to play any game you want? And again, do you think the keyboard will be gaming quality? I get the appeal of being able to install Steam, I just question the practicality of actually playing Steam games on it.
What will be more confusing is that RT comes with MS Office installed. Pro will require what, an extra $150 for MS Office Home edition?

They said ultrabook pricing. Find me an ultrabook for 700. They said it during the conference.
Why do people seem to think the pro is going to be 700. They already gave us a ballpark 1k and up.

What is the price on the Windows Marketplace? The average version of Office sells for well south of $100. Plus, you can just use the license for the Office you already have. The home and student version (that you get for $60 some odd dollars online) comes with 3 device license.

There are a lot between 800 and 1000 as well. Not "1000 and up."
I think we all want to know what the pro specs are.Yeah I'd like to know more about the Pro being a potential laptop replacement, but I don't know if that's really what they're shooting for.
This has a standard non ssd drive. Low res screen. Find me something comparable.http://www.google.com/products/cata...=X&ei=tuHfT_etOqSU2QX0_JSYCg&ved=0CLgBEPMCMAA

What is the price on the Windows Marketplace?
It'll play games as well as any underclocked HD4000 gpu will. I'd look into the newest MBA's running windows as a reference and probably subtract 20-30% or so to fit the thermal envelope of the tablet form factor. Will this tablet really have the beef to play any game you want? Did they say how cooling is handled in the Pro model?
I'm sure it can handle a usb controller but I know that's not preferable for some games.
No but the W700 iconia is basically the same thing, and it has a cooling fan.Did they say how cooling is handled in the Pro model?
Because that's where I think most Windows 8/RT tablet users will be going for their apps. Why would you have to buy it from the Windows Marketplace?
I think you owe Ballmer an apology. I think the last time you spoke of him was pretty (hilariously) hateful. He killed it! Plus he gave us Mega Man shops
If they were serious about gaming on the Pro MS would throw a 360 wireless receiver in that bad boy. Or at least make one no larger than those little USB stubs that come with wireless mice.
And he's still not even keeping up with Tobor.

Yes, it can't run any desktop programs outside of File Explorer, Office and IE.is Windows RT ( for ARM based processors) in anyway different from Windows 8 ?
It can't run windows 8 x86 apps. So yeah drastically different.is Windows RT ( for ARM based processors) in anyway different from Windows 8 ?
Only way to mee the pie in the sky price. Why are you showing something without a SSD?

A slice of life
Everything you need, everywhere you go: fast processor, long battery life, SSD, optional HDD, essential ports.
Microsoft always sells different versions of Windows, and has trained the public to know this. Like Windows 7 Home Premium edition and Windows 7 Ultimate.is Windows RT ( for ARM based processors) in anyway different from Windows 8 ?

I see what you did there. But really, MS can't fuck up how they explain the differences here or there will be hell to pay.Microsoft always sells different versions of Windows, and has trained the public to know this. Like Windows 7 Home Premium edition and Windows 7 Ultimate.

Well guess that settles it pro version is 700 dollars. So. You really believe that to be true?

Mark Rein is excited to get Unreal working on it.

I trolling hard ... and to make it more effective when I use BOLDMicrosoft did a great job confusing consumers. This thread is case and point. People think the RT version can run all their favorite x86 apps. It can't. Also the RT version seems not to support a stylus either.
Shit? lolThe non-pro is not 1080p. MS advertises it as "HD" screen whereas the Pro is "Full HD"
And yes, it's a shit screen compared to the 2048x1536 IPS panel of the iPad.
I think it will catch up much faster than any other platform has.I agree. My concern about RT is...what is it bringing beyond Office that makes it more attractive for the price than the competition? Starting from scratch with the Microsoft Store means they'll have decidedly less available software for it than the Android/Apple tablets. So why buy it? I'm not sure either.
You might want to read up on the plans for Windows 8 along with the overall Windows ecosystem.(not that this is ever going to happen, I don't think MS has any interest in mingling Xbox and Windows in that fashion.. quite the opposite really)

I'm going to enjoy bringing this to friends houses and firing up Steam while they play the WiiU.
You call that a tablet?
If all XBLA games came out for Windows 8, and they worked on the base tablet with an Xbox controller I'd buy one.
