That's so cool!

How many times did Maldonado do the same thing to other drivers in the race? I seem to remember him forcing Kimi off in the first few laps and the same to Webber on the last corner. The difference being Kimi and Webber have enough respect for their fellow drivers, not to just plough into the side of them.

Maldonado is a cunt. There are so many examples of him doing stupid, dangerous shit in his short time in F1 (Monaco 2012, Spa 2011 to name a couple). I don't care how good he is, he doesn't deserve to have a seat if he can't sort out his temperament.

You always know something is going to happen when Maldonado is on your tail

Re: Maldonado: Incredibly similar to what he did to Webber by pushing him off the track, only difference was that Webber didn't claim some right of ownership of the track to shove himself back on. 20sec penalty is far too lenient. If you can't re-enter the track safely, then don't.

Fuck Maldonado. The guy is a fucking liability. He was doing exactly what Hamilton did throughout the race then he has the nerve to blame him for the crash. God damn amateur needs to get a hefty penalty for the next race. He desperately needs to get some etiquette/race craft from somewhere because at the moment he brings shame to the Williams name.
Yup.

I cheered when Vettel pulled over, and I cheered when Grojean pulled over and I said a massive "Fuck You" when On Prupose kicked Hamilton in the balls.

An entertaining race though, never thought I'd say that.

Oh and incredible pit stops from Mclaren. 2.9, 3.1 and a 14.
From now on, I'm referring to him as "Prupose". In fact, if I could I'd write a Chrome script to replace every instance of "Maldonado" with it.

Lots of stupid moves in this race in desperate bid to overtake.

Both Caterhams got tagged, Koby had a brain fart of a race and ruined 2 peoples races. Can't believe Senna got that penalty.
Tagged = rubbed? Oh yeah... and both from STR drivers IIRC (though I didn't see Petrov's). Fan-fucking-tastic result for them, considering what happened. And bodes REALLY well for Silverstone. So much so I might actually change one of my F1RM chassis/engine teams to them. At least they had reliability on their side today in a day when even the best were crumbling.

Those Maclaren / Hamilton pitstops, god. Could they continue to be any more shit?

At halfway i was about to put this one down to another shitty run away Redbull victory, but then everything went tits up for the leading pack.

Hamilton pit fail.
Redbull reliability fail.
Lotus reliability fail.
Maldonado just complete fail.

If there is one thing to say though, that damned Redbull looks like the dominant car again, at least it certainly was today.
Yeah, my heart sank a bit when that happened. They look like a bottom-tier crew at times. Compared to Ferrari who are just so on their game it's not funny... yeah. Woeful.

Its a shame GAF wasnt working during the race. The one time Valencia was exciting, none of us could express our emotions online :/
Some of us could!

I felt really bad for Grosjean. He could've had a solid second, if not, winning the race. You can tell how frustrated he was when he was exiting the car. Hopefully he'll have more podium finishes this season.
He's lifted his game massively since the start of the season, become far less accident prone. I don't see him in the top 5 for WDC points by the end of the year, but in 2013... definitely.

Hamilton: I know everyone's jumping on Pasta saying its his fault(which it is for the most part), but Hamilton was also pulling one too many defensive maneuvers both on Kimi and Maldonado when its clear his tires were gone and the other two guys are capable of overtaking him. Now dont get me wrong, Schumi did the same to Hamilton last year at Monza(defensive part) but he should've let the other two guys pass and would've probably ended up with more points despite not making the podium.

I did feel bad for him when he crashed and him bashing the steering wheel and throwing it away. After his win at Montreal, its sad to see his race end the way it did :(
Eh, he was completely off the track and re-entered unsafely. Can't just barge your way back on like that. Webber didn't when he was pushed off the track by Prupose.

Schumi: amidst all the craziness during the race, the last thing I expected was for this man to get in the podium. After the crap he's been through since his comeback, let alone this season, its nice to see the old man stand on the podium once again.
Yep!

Alonso: man of the hour. coming off that poor qualifying result and winning the race from 11th (in front of his home crowd no less), was amazing. Like I said, people always seem to forget that despite Alonso's poor qualifying results this season, the man manages to find his way up front so you can never count him out. Great race from him and he's even leading the WDC points at the moment :)

It was nice to Alonso/Kimi/Schumi on podium given how all three are former/current Ferrari drivers and world champions in their own right :D
Yeah, I did enjoy that. 20 points finishes in a row, not too bad considering the pig of the car he was driving.

Well, why does GAF keep shitting the bed? You need to head to a certain purple sector...

I find it odd that Vettel said "...trying to break our neck..." considering Wings for Life...not smooth! Oh well, everyone slips!

Cross posting, I don't care:

So, Valencia through up an interesting race. I think withouit the argy bargey and fast drivers out of position it may not have been as good though.

Williams. Need to fire Pasta and Senna. Senna is too slow, Pasta is too reckless. Maybe keep Pasta until the end of the season, see if he settles down. Senna is Massa bad.

What the fuck happened in F1RM, GAF? Third subleague overall, dropped to tenth. I jumped one spot, but only because Romain didn't finish. If he did, it would've gotten me far further than how I did. But having said that, considering I changed my team almost completely (chassis, engine, #1 driver) I should be in good stead for the future.

But still, all of you are to blame!

I jumped 2 spots. If Prupose didn't shit the bed I would be golden with him and Schumi.

Great race, I have to say that despite all the complaining, these tyres do make the racing better!

Alonso....amazing, I was cheering when vettel and Hamilton went out but that red bull looks very quick.

I think I'm going to watch that race again

NeoGAF is still 3rd in my view! Just barely ahead of 4th :)

As for F1RM, I have forgot 1 Bonus question, 2 weekend team changes (admittedly it helped when Maldonado won!) and ALL but this weekend's Bets!! I never clicked the Bets tab before!

I think I'm 7th though! I'm like McLaren's pitstops.

My setup change for next week will be

Pic > Prupose
Macca chassis > lotus
Keeping Schumi, Williams engine and of course total

Im 51st now

I read on another forum that grosjean was given a new wing and not Kimi. Is that true? I can't rely on that forum it's full of Kimi fanboys

Just rewatched the race and Ted did say the same thing.

Amazing race!

Fernando /bow he got some good breaks but fantastic drive.
Vettel wow, super fast but car can't take the heat?
Hamilton ouch! Screwed by pit crew AGAIN! Then rammed off the track. Bad luck.

I am loving this season!

A great race, but I have a feeling Red Bull will soon edge ahead of everyone else, sadly.

I also sadly see McLaren having a lot of issues for the rest of the season.

I liked how the speed crew (after the first very quick hamilton stop) was going on about how mclaren is awesome and that's why they are so great, then they fuck it up royally.

Would of been interesting to see Hamilton battle the front runners on fading tires instead of the mid-pack. I still think Alonso would of won, but he would of probably been on the podium if not for that stop.

Oh yeah, so while we're all in agreement of Maldo being a Prupotomous, I didn't check but was there outrage over Vergne?

That pissed me off so much, what an imbecile.

They aren't the worst ever all the time. That 2.9 stop was great.

And did the front jack break or was it just a screw up?
Yeah both jacks broke. Once the second jack was put in and broke you can actually see one of the pit crew trying to lift the car with his bare hands a bit lol At least that's what it looked like to me. Haven't seen a replay of it.

It was a stupid move from a rookie, but not as stupid as maldonados. Plus, I don't think he has done it so many times. Mistakes are acceptable

Yeah, same. There really is nothing not to like about Caterham at the moment. Drivers are doing their best and never getting in anyones way, improving with each race, awesome livery colours (swoooon) and just seem to exemplify the best things about Formula 1 teams. When shit like that happens, it gets me aggro, too.

What pissed me off even more is just how much he was rehearsing/reciting his "it was just a racing incident" story. Bastard. Wonder how far Angry Heikki could've gone if that hadn't happened. Almost definitely in the points, I'd think.

McLaren apparently have a big upgrade coming for Silverstone. While I'm sure others will too it's always unsure as to who will come out on top.

Hamiltons pit crew is seriously the worst ever. It's like they're doing it on purpose. Lol

As someone else said, they got a 2.9 for one of Hamiltons and a 3.1 for one of Buttons. Both fast stops even by Ferrari standards.

Clearly they can do it, they just need to sort the jacks out. The silly thing is that they have had problems with those jacks in testing but carried on using them.

Thank you for agreeing with me.

Seriously though i know i could be axaderating (what is the right spelling?) a bit but when ever vettel is leading people want him to crash or what ever. But when alonso or hamilton is leading its the best thing to happen on the day.

Lets not ruin the day though amazing drive from shumi and webber!!
You still don't get it, do you?

Anyway, I'm trying to find some pictures with Alonso driving around with the Spanish flag, but can't find them.

“We profited from the reliability problems of others, but that’s part of the game and it’s a reminder of how important it is to ensure that the cars are sufficiently robust and not just fast,” says the ex McLaren man, referring to the demises of Sebastian Vettel and Romain Grosjean. “Fernando was fantastic - aggressive when he had to attack in the opening moments and very clever in managing every stage of the race.”

Notwithstanding the unexpected victory, Fry stresses that the title remains a long way off.

“We must improve our performance because this weekend the Red Bull showed it had made quite a step forward again and we aren’t where we want to be, meaning ahead of everyone,” he continues. “We have more developments coming, but we are perfectly aware that our competitors won’t be twiddling their thumbs…we are facing three races in four weeks and we must not relax, not even for a second.”

I'm not sure if my heart can handle that.
